Cheaper than the one I usually have bought but it works just as well…perhaps a bit easier because this one only has the temperature shown instead of all the various sugar stages as well. Interesting, this has a function to recalibrate the temperature using a glass with ice water. Somehow, that makes me trust it even more!

Good thermometer and works for home well, but digital in general is a little more difficult to get accurate reading. I either have to hold it so it doesn't touch the bottom of the pan, or have someone hold it for me while I stir. I still use the old candy thermometer for something like toffee or peanut brittle.
