The Racoons turned this fraudulently advertised piece of junk into a toy and their own private water dispenser. This is the major flaw other accompanying flaws are as follows: Junk and I do mean cheap plastic junk construction. Upon assembly leaks were present had to tighten down further. After it worked for a while it started leaking again requiring more tightening. Not a big deal just figured I’d go ahead and use some Teflon tape to better secure the fittings. I never got around to putting the Teflon tape on though, because the sprinkler head portion of it flew off into the air and into the yard. So I went ahead and decrease the pressure to the hose thinking that might be the issue after snapping it back on. Next the triggering / valve sprinkling portion malfunctioned and continued running after it was triggered. Turned it off then back on @3:00 AM. Not Acceptable!!! Lastly, while activated with new batteries & water running the raccoons, turned this supposed deterrent into a private drinking fountain, please see the picture. I have a spa they wont leave alone** A: It has 6 settings... OFF, 1,2,3, 4,ON. I wanted to scare a racoon...I set it for 4...high senor. Birds set it off. I am happy with this product...just aim it correctly. It will work on a bird...I suspect on "4" an ant may set it off!!!! But that's what you want in the beginning. I would buy this product again. **Q: Can you adjust the spray range? I just need it to cover an area of 10’.** A: Yes spray adjust is a knob on top you turn. **Q: Has a prop 65 warning, so maybe I shouldn't let it spray water on my vegetable garden, but there's no way to assess the risk, so that's fun. ?** A: If a device contains any amount of about 900 different chemicals they have to contain that warning. Problem is that there is no threshold for this warning label. Everything in this world is about toxicity not just whether it contains the molecule. If you have too much of anything it can kill you. Too much water, too many bananas etc. This product probably contains PVC which requires the label. On the flip side, PVC is suitable for drinking water inlets. The prop 65 warning may require you to do some research but like most things it was implemented with a good intention but the execution is less then desirable. It's always your choice but personally I spray this over my vulnerable vegetable garden. I am more concerned about bird poop on my veggies then I am about the water that comes out of this sprayer or my garden house. On the whole manufacturer’s have raced each other to the bottom of being cheap over being durability. That said, this unit has better sensitivity than other units I have used in the past. It also uses much less water during activation. However it has a quieter activation which for a critter deterrent is not as good a thing. Louder the better. But it has worked ok. Yes, it all plastic. Yes, you have to be careful to not over-tighten connections but get it tight enough to not leak. It also uses AA batteries which is new to me but so far has not run down in the month I’ve had it running. Lastly, the sprinkler mode might work for some but not for me. It shoots little darts of water. Not much at all, like I mentioned above. It could run all day and not water my garden. But I didn’t buy it for that. And the little drops go about 40 feet. Deer hate it. Overall, so far so good. Update: Worked well all summer and fall as a deer deterrent only using 1 set of AA batts I which is much cheaper than a nine volt. Now we’ll see if it still works next year after being stored this winter. So far so good. I am happy with it. New update 2022: worked fine this new gardening year. A new set of batteries and still sensitive as ever. Only problem is the plastic stop on the on switch has broken internally but it still works ok. I just marked where the minuscule dot on the switch is with a marker and that worked to know where it’s at at a glance. The knob can now go all the way around now but it works anyway since it a double sided switch knob. Sorry, electronic lingo there but it’s not broken. So far so good! Happy with it! 2023.
