Yes it also softens the stool. But of course this is just a temporary solution and you should try to treat the underlying cause of stool hardening/constipation

Q: Can you use this on a 1 month newborn?

Yes I have used these for decades on many of my 6 children, grandchildren and now great grandchildren. They are long, and using half the length may help. A newborn is developing many muscles the sphincter can be slow, and constipation is often with some formulas I hope this is helpful for you and gives baby relief, too.

Q: How long and wide is each suppository?

i never used or open them because they just didnt seem legit enough for me to use for my baby, but u can always cut suppositories lengthwise to make them smaller size, never cut them in half horizontally, always the longest side that way it becomes thin enough to use. should go in about an inch total
