Review, 3 Years After Buying (and an update 1 year later!)
***Edited to add 4 years later note*** This thing is still chugging along. I've been using it a LOT less over the last year, and when I tried to run it recently, I got the dreaded E1 error. Tried draining it, cleaning the hose, running VERY hot water through it and no luck. I would've curbed it sooner but the dang thing is heavy. I read a review where someone tired to loosen any scaling by spraying vinegar into it and.. it worked. It's currently running as we speak!! If anyone runs into the E1 error, definitely look up videos to make sure debris traps are clear. if still no luck, shoot pure white vinegar into the hole on the left-hand side of the interior, and I poured some into the part that sits under the mesh filter on the bottom. I also poured a good amount of vinegar into the tank, and let it sit for a couple hours. I filled the rest of the tank with tap water, and am running a rapid cycle now. No more E1 -- fingers crossed!! ___________________________________________________________________________________ I don't often write reviews, especially because so many are sponsored or in exchange for a free item. This review is my own review, on an item I spent my own money on, and have used extensively for 3 years. I LOVE THIS THING. I live in a typical NYC studio apartment (imagine a postage stamp-sized kitchen. now cut in half. that's my kitchen). I have a sink, but no dishwasher -- not a big deal, but I like to bake, and I hate washing dishes. I chose this dishwasher solely because I recognized the brand name, and liked the interface. I have almost no complaints. The good: it washes your dishes. It doesn't require installation of any sort. The meh: you still need to pre-clean your dishes. In olden days, we used to pretty much wash our dishes before putting them in the dishwasher (get rid of all food bits and whatnot). This dishwasher will perform best if you do that. If you overfill it, or put too many dirty in 3D items in there... it's gonna struggle. Filling the water tank can be a pain, but get a big pitcher or a sink adapter thing, and you'll be fine. The bad: the footprint is enormous, relatively speaking. You can only wash a small load of dishes at once (probably 2-4 dinner plates, 2 bowls, 2 place settings at once; baking wise, I can fit my kitchen-aid stand mixer bowl, 2 other mixing bowls and a couple of spatulas at once). My other gripes are likely specific to me -- I would like a longer drainage hose, and the dry cycle takes forever. If you need a straightforward dishwasher that gets the job done, isn't absurdly loud, and you can't install one, I'd highly recommend this lil guy.

The BEST Portable Dishwasher!!
Too busy to wash dishes? Plates piling up in your kitchen sink? No room for a standard dishwasher? Your significant other nagging you to do dishes? Well, look no further! This is by far the BEST Portable dishwasher I've ever used. And here's why. PROS - this is the only portable dishwasher with a viewing window so you can take a peek at any time. - this machine allows you to add water manually (about 5.4L) at the top without ever worrying if the machine connects to your faucet or not (no professional install required). - this portable machine fits in between our countertop and our cabinet, so make sure you get the right measurements before purchase. - comes in different modes which includes fruit washing and baby bottle washing (very convenient for parents) CONS - at half the price of a standard dishwasher, it is somewhat pricey, but it gets the job done. - it doesn't wash as much dishes as other portable dishwashers without a viewing window - the major con is that when you prefill the dishwasher from the top, it is impossible to avoid spilling it all over the top. - there is no child safety lock, which means you can open the dishwasher door at any time. - the inside light turns off after a minute or two and there's no way to turn it back on during the wash. TIPS: - only buy from Amazon as the seller and shipper to ensure an authentic machine - the machine may arrive slightly wet prior to first use - this is normal as the company states they test all machines prior to selling it. - the machine takes dishwasher gel (I recommend the Cascade Complete gel) AND dishwasher pods, but I recommend the dishwasher gel because the machine takes a precise amount and you get more bang for your buck. Another bonus is you don't have to worry about the pod not dissolving completely. Also keep in mind that the pods are designed for standard size dishwashers, so it may be overkill for a portable dishwasher. I have not noticed any unused dishwasher gel or white residue on any of my washes. Lastly, the machine is not equipped for rinse aid. - I do not recommend using regular dish soap. Invest in the above options. - make sure you turn on air refresh mode which means after your dishes are done, it will dry the dishes with the included fan for at least 15 minutes. - Even though the dishwasher preheats the water, I recommend loading it with hot tap water in order to save time - the tank capacity is roughly 5.4L or 3 full pitchers (pitcher included with purchase). Even if you overfill it a little, the machine will dump the extra out prior to the wash - wash the filters once a month (instructions are found in the manual). - make sure you don't block the bottom of the dishwasher or else it won't wash properly. - make sure you don't overload the dishwasher and the door closes on its own, otherwise if you have to forcibly close it then you will encounter a leak like other reviewers. Overall, this is a premium product and it was a solid buy. No regrets. It's been almost 2 months and the machine is in tip top shape, no errors like some others have mentioned. I will update this review after 6 months and then 1 year later, so stay tuned! As long as you take care of the dishwasher, it will take care of you. 6 MONTHS UPDATE: It's been six months and the dishwasher is still running smooth like a charm. I wash almost twice daily. No issues so far, no E1 codes. As long as you don't overfill the dishwasher with plates/cups/utensils and making sure you don't have to forcibly close the dishwasher door, it should continue to work just fine. Make sure to clean the filter at the bottom of the machine at least once a month because there is food debris buildup from multiple washes.

A great little dishwasher
I absolutely love this little dishwasher. It’s been about five months since I bought it, and I run it anywhere from twice a day to once every three days, depending on how many dishes I’m going through. I live alone, so it’s a good size for the number of dirty dishes I usually produce per day. I love the pour spout on the top, and this is the most important feature to me. This means I don’t need to hook up a hose to my kitchen faucet every time I run the dishwasher. Because I don’t need to do that, I can wash handwash-only items or items too big to fit simultaneously to when the dishwasher is running. I’ve never had any technical issues or malfunctions. I do recommend checking that both propellers can spin a full 360 before starting the cycle. However, if you start the cycle and realize one of the propellers is being blocked by a dish, it’s no trouble to stop the cycle, unblock the propeller, and restart the cycle. I’ve never used the dishwasher for fruit or babycare, so no comment on those features. But the normal, glass, and rapid cycles all work well. I’ve been using a liquid detergent on the recommendation of other reviewers here. The air refresh cycle doesn’t do very much, and whether you use it or not, the dishes will probably still be wet when the cycle completes. Easy solution is just to open the door and let things dry that way. I usually run the washer after dinner and then open it up when it’s done before going to bed, and the dishes are dry in the morning. Most of my silverware doesn’t fit into the basket vertically, but laying it in the basket horizontally works great. Larger plates usually need to tilt at a slight angle to fit, but this is not a big deal. Overall, I love this dishwasher. It can’t do all my dishes for me, as I have several dishes that are too big for it or aren’t dishwasher safe. But this cuts down on the day-to-day slog of doing the dishes and it is so much easier to get through what hand wash dishes are left. I also never need to hand wash silverware anymore, which was my least favorite.

When it works, it's awesome, and when it doesn't, well, read the forums, but still, worth the money!
I want to say right out of the gate: this thing works perfectly as long as you stay within parameters, and it is incredible awesome for people who do not want to do dishes all the time/have infants. But figuring the setup was the weirdest thing for us. I even setup my neighbors who bought one originally (I am a handyman) , and here are the caviats I had regarding this machine. 1. The machine would error code a lot if you tried water filling the top, though I could never figure out why, so I ended up just running water to a feed line under our sink, never had a problem again on that code. 2. The visual aspect of the washing machine makes you think you didn't have enough soap, but if you over load it with dish detergent (which is incredibly easy) suds will pour out the machine and you will get water everywhere: use a pod or a dime sized dollup of detergent for each load. 3. The drain line rarely but can shoot a little hard when it engages and unless it is going directly into a drain, thus jumping out of the sink bed. 4. A full regular dish cycle is a little over 2 hours. Now, for why we love this little thing. 1. It fits right underneath our cupboards in our small kitchen and is easily cleaned. 2. For the dirtier, greasier dishes you can use the long regular cycle, but the shortest rapid cycle only takes 40 minutes (and you can usually bypass the last 4 minutes as most of the time it's just doing a preliminary air dry, and you can put those dishes on a towel to dry) 3. A very long lasting warranty 4. It saves your hands from using a boat load more water hand washing. Fantastic little guy, would recommend if you cannot have a regular dish washer

LOVE THIS MACHINE
Omg - why didn't I get this sooner? Longtime apartment dweller that used to joke that I'd know that I'd arrived when I lived in a place with a dishwasher. Like some other reviewers, I didn't want to lose the ability to use my sink while washing the dishes. I had my eye on the Tetra, since they purport that it's to be faster, use less water, and less expensive; but it's been delayed and delayed and delayed. This is expensive - but just go for it. The one appliance I wish I had bought years ago. Looking into it, yes, it appears that this is using the Farberware name, you can't find it listed anywhere on the company website. Still, mine works wonderfully - just don't go crazy on how much stuff you put in there (at least that's been my issue). It may sound silly, but for me this has been a life changer. I don't cringe over having to do what limited dishes I now have. I'm not thinking twice anymore about cooking or baking something because I'll have more dishes to do. I especially love having a sink head that I can pull out and fill the tank directly (so glad I changed out the sink faucet all those years ago). I think having to fill a container and then fill the tank would get to be rather annoying. To me it's pretty quiet (one exception noted below), washes everything efficiently and well, and has just enough space to make it all work (sure, I'd love to put full size pots and pans in, but this isn't full-sized). Dinner plates, 2 quart saucepans, and 8 inch frying pans are the largest items I'm okay with fitting in there (has to be at an angle though). I'm SO happy that it has the air filtration option to keep air circulating between washes - no issues with any mold or smells developing. I do regularly take out the drain cover (very simple to do as well) to give a quick rinse and soapy clean. Only two cons that I have: You can't (or I haven't figured out how to) silence the audio, so you'll get eight rather loud beeps at the end of the cycle. Sucks to not be able to put this on before heading to bed. The dish rack thingy drove me nuts. In part because it seemed that most items didn't get cleaned all that well. I've since bought a dish basked that comes apart into two pieces and use just one half for silverware and other items that would be tossed about. It's not a perfect fit, but it slides onto a few of the prongs and I'm set. Easy compromise.

A good option if you can't fit a full size dishwasher
We bought a house in an area that the tap water is hard. The house does not have a water filtration system and the dishwasher that was here when we bought it did not work and was caked inside with deposits. We decided that replacing it was futile and as our kitchen in this home is fairly small we needed the storage space over a dishwasher. We still wanted the convenience of a dishwasher and a countertop model seemed like our best option. I have to admit that there are pluses and minuses to a unit such as this but I feel the pluses win out in the end. I had back surgery years ago and being bent over the sink washing dishes can get extremely uncomfortable even after a short time. This allows us to load dishes as we use them and then run when full. It is helping us keep up with the dishes and is saving my back the pain of handwashing. Granted, we still must manually wash the larger items that will not fit but it is still much faster to get through the chore with less pain for me. The machine can either be manually filled with water or hooked to the sink with an adapter. We went with the manual fill as the machine is right next to the sink and we just extend our sprayer to the fill point and turn on the water until it is full. It saves us from filling the included pitcher 3 times to wash a load. The machine beeps when full to let you know so you do not overfill it. Room temperature water can be used as the unit has a heater for the water built in. For those that will be hooking directly to the sink, please note the manual states to shut the water off after the load is completed. The drain hose is an ample length so if the machine is not right next to the sink it should still reach as long as you are not placing it too far away. Even at that, the drain hose can be placed into a bucket if the sink is too far. The biggest warning I can think of is that the clamp to hold the drain hose in place on the washer is a bit of a bear to get tightened due to how close it must be to the housing of the machine. We had bought another model before this one that was broken upon receipt. Unpacking the previous one was much more involved than this one. I say this only to note that unboxing and setup was very straight forward and quite simple with the exception of the aforementioned clamp for the drain hose. The manual does not show the precise way to connect the silverware tray and that was a bit of a puzzle for a moment but was easy enough to figure out. The machine is no noisier than a full size machine. I feel it is actually quieter than a full size. It has a good selection of cycles to choose from with the only thing I would like added is to be able to turn the heated dry off on the longer cycles. I would believe the most popular question people have is "How well does it clean dishes?" I have to say it does a really good job. I have purposely put dishes with dried on food in and had most come out sparkling clean. It does miss the odd spot however that is most likely due to me playing tetris to get more in and pretty much being guilty of overloading. I recommend more loads over fuller loads to keep you from rewashing or hand washing items again. In other reviews, people noted that the water from the top was more of a "trickle". While it is not like the power sprayers in full size machines, it puts out a fair amount of water. It does not cover the entire area which I thought would lead to the upper items in the silverware tray to come out dirty. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it did clean. The only real issue we have had so far is that the second load of dishes came out with a film on them. We are unsure if this was due to the detergent we used, if we used too much or if there was residue from the test run the manufacturer does on the machines. We have not had a repeat of that since that load of dishes. That does remind me that the inside of the machine may be damp. It does warn you of this in the quick start guide and manual. The door is held shut magnetically and does not lock to my knowledge. It holds very tightly and I do not feel it will ever pop open during a load. I actually prefer this as the first machine that we returned was due to the PLASTIC door latch was broken upon receipt. There is no latch on this one to break which in my opinion is a plus. We like the different cycles for the machine and will be using the fruit cycle often. The size is also right for us as well. We have just a hair over 18" under our cabinets. This machine fits nicely under them with about an inch to spare. The previous machine had incorrect measurements listed and would not fit under our cabinets. I must warn that the machine will not take a dinner plate over 10" unless laid at an angle. To summarize, we really like the machine as it lessens our daily chore load. It is not an all inclusive solution but augments very well when properly used. It is saving me from an aching back and since it sits on the countertop, loading does not require bending down as a full sized machine requires. If you are in the market for such a machine, I feel this one should be on your final list of choices due to size, features, good performance, ease of use and versatility in placement.

Countertop dish washer simplifies life, sort of.
You fill this machine manually, even when using a water line (you still have to manually fill the internal tank then shut off the water). Otherwise you use the included pitcher to fill the tank. You must have the unit powered on so you can hear the beep during filling when the tank is full. Mine seemed to have a struggle dissolving the Finish Advanced dish washing detergent powder. Powdered cleaner will not dissolve during the short wash cycle. I'm going to investigate if there exists a liquid detergent in stores locally. For a counter top machine the port to add water is on the top of the machine at the back so if used under an upper cabinet you'll need to be able to slide it forward to add water, then slide it back into position. To drain it comes with a ribbed grey plastic hose you lay across the counter and hang in the sink which limits the working location, it must be within a few feet of the sink since the hose is only about 3ft long. Cross tip screw driver needed to attach the hose and tighten the hose clamp. Inside the box, the machine is smaller than the inside of a dorm size refrigerator. The manual is poorly written with omissions and really lousy translations to English. Basically, you un-pack the machine, remove all the stuff inside the washer (hoses, fruit basket, two styrofoam grippers on the spinning nozzle, pitcher, and the silverware shelf). You unwrap and attach the drain hose, load it with dishes and detergent, close the door, plug-in, turn-on, add water (3 pitcher fulls) until it beeps, then select the cycle and press START. (the unit really only needs to be powered on when adding the third/final pitcher of water). It did a decent job of washing dishes and silverware. The internal LED only runs for a couple minutes which is handy to make sure nothing is hanging down preventing the spinning thing from spinning. You will spill water filling the tank, so be mindful of things around the machine that cannot get wet.

Worth it, but misses 5 stars.
I bought this mini dishwasher for for my family beach house, mostly because it's an old place with no room for a full size unit and we often use paper plates or eat out. I'm actually surprised at how well it works. I have maybe 15 loads through of all various degrees of dirty dishes, glasses and utensils. I even somewhat over packed a few loads just for fun. Never once that I have to put something back in a second time, so that is good news. The unit is relatively quiet and very easy to use. My few complaints are minor but something that could have simply been included or modified at the factory. First, 10 inch dishes fit but need to be laid over a good bit which wastes space which is already pretty tight. This thing is so compact it would have been no issue to make the unit even just a half inch taller. Second thing, there is a 45-minute heated dry cycle at the end of the regular wash. I don't really find it necessary to waste that amount of time or energy so it would have been need to have a way to open the door without it automatically opening all the way by itself. Magnets hold the door shut but as soon as you open it it automatically wants to open all the way. Pictured is stick on hooks I put in place along with a rubber band to allow the door to open an inch or two so the interior ventilates and dries naturally. Leaving the door wide open is a great way for kids to run into the thing. Only other thing I thought was odd but really makes little difference in cleaning, I thought the top spray disc would spin faster and have more water pressure but it is merely a slow rotating drop for detergent and water. Had the dishes not gotten clean I would have definitely taken another star off because of that but it does not seem to be an issue. Otherwise, very pleased with this purchase.

HERMOSA PERO MUY PEQUEÑA
ME GUSTÓ!

Mix feeling....I returned it for technical problems
