Neoprenes heat, cold, and weather resistance make it a great material to use for items exposed to those conditions. You’ll find neoprene in many electronics to help protect the sensitive chips and wiring, and its heat resistance allows it to tolerate the gadgetry heating up during use. But as to your question of will it prevent lead transfer we honestly never tested for that so from a liability stand point I am not comfortable answering yes or no. What I do know is that our neoprene handle covers will protect you from a hot door handle.

Q: Would this work as a grill handle cover? The handle gets extremely hot and has burned my wife’s thumb. Could this withstand that level of heat?

We use it on a west side door knob that gets very hot from direct sun and it works very well. Not sure how that heat compares to heat on grill handle.
