Do all v-tech go! go! smart wheels- speedway rc smartpoint "vehicles" require the (round/direction) remote control or can they be purchased separately

I am not 100% sure of this answer but I would say that no you can not buy the remote separately. Not all v-tech cars are remote controlled Some are manual pushed. I hope this answered your question

Does the link between the car and remote work consistently and for long durations? We have the race car that comes with the track and the link breaks.

I would say that is yes. My Grandson played with his car not on the track just on the kitchen floor and he played a good 30 minutes with the one car with no problems other than operator error (He is 2 years old). My son also skyped me as my Granddaughter and Grandson were playing with the track and he said they have been playing with it nonstop and was glad I put 48 batteries with them because they all ready needed a new set of batteries. It looked like they were not having any problems. I highly recommend these. I hope this helps.
