Can’t go back to one screen
This is not a GPU intensive laptop, but having two screens for most task is a game changer. This CPU should support an external GPU and for the most part, it is durable feeling. The screens look great even though they are not 4K and the 120Hz is pretty good. At first it may seem strange, but after awhile this laptop will make you wonder why isn’t this the norm. The keyboard battery could last longer, and so could the laptop, but since it’s Intel and not an ARM chip, this is expected. I still have no regrets. The fans can sound like a plane taking off but I don’t really mind them as they are not TOO loud. The laptop weighs some, but not excessive. This is something I have used at Starbucks and would again. For meetings it’s been pretty good. The stylus I never use, and it doesn’t seem to overheat or anything. I think this is a very good laptop for the performance versus price and the two screens. The touch sensitivity is very good as well, I have no issues touching the bottom screen really quick for something since you can run two browser windows just fine, very versatile. I use this laptop with one screen only as well.

Amazing amount of versatility and excellent build quality
I'm really quite pleased and impressed with this unit - it has so much versatility and the build quality is excellent. I was a little skeptical about the design of two screens joined together and whether I'd really use that, but this seems to be a huge productivity advantage since I work in a multiscreen environment and am very used to having multiple monitors to view applications on several screens at a time. Now I can just pickup and go without having to pack another portable monitor when working out of the office. One common use for example is to have Copilot running in one screen so that I can ask it questions about the application or coding I'm working on in another screen. Normally on a single screen laptop, I would have to flip back and forth continuously for that. Another is to leave my communications apps (such as Outlook and chat applications) running in one screen while working in the other screen so that I don't have to constantly switch windows to check on communications and lose my train of thought (and can turn off annoying notifications). The OLED screens are also really excellent - they're very vibrant and bright. I thought I'd have difficulty viewing them at 3K resolution, but the 200% text scaling which is recommended in Windows 11 makes them very readable - even more so than my larger 15" + laptops which don't seem to scale as well (they're either too small or too large). I'm also very impressed with the sound, it's very loud and full, so I won't have to bring a sound bar or external speak with me on trips. I'm truly dazzled by the options to control the screens using the Asus Dial & Control panel as well as virtual keyboards. The Bluetooth keyboard that snaps on is amazing too, and has a backlight even when disconnected. Last but not least (I really could go on and on), the pouch that they include serves as a laptop stand too, so you can just pick up the laptop and put it inside the pouch/stand and go. I really can't say enough about how much thought went into the design of this unit for maximum options and uses. (Note I'm reviewing this as part of a 90 day warranty extension offer, but I felt compelled to share my satisfaction regardless).

A worthwhile upgrade from my 4 year old Zenbook Duo, the flexibility can't be beat
For the past 4+ years, I have been using the first generation Zenbook Duo laptop that had the second screen that was much smaller and built into the top of the keyboard when the keyboard and both screens formed a one-piece laptop. This model took some getting used to due to its flat keyboard style and position of the trackpad compared to the old model, but having the large second screen made up for that. The laptop is simply gorgeous. The 3K OLED screens image quality are perfect and the flexibility in positioning the screens to how you want to use them can't be beat by any other laptop out there right now. The laptop is fast, and MUCH lighter than the old Zenbook Duo I had. I was surprised at how light the whole thing was with two screens and a keyboard nicely stacked and docked together. The 120Hz monitors have nice, smooth motion during video and even window animations compared to a 60Hz. The 32GB of RAM and 1TB hard drive are more than adequate for a powerful laptop like this. I do wish it came with Windows 11 Pro instead of Home though. As you can see in my image, I opted to use my screens stacked and I attached a dual-monitor mount to the top monitor so I have a total of four monitors on the small desk I use this laptop on when I am not using my desktop PC. The USB4 port on the laptop allowed me to attach a hub with another USB4 port on it, which I attached the dual monitors to for the two additional displays. This setup helps me mimic my desktop setup where I also have four displays. Since I don't move this laptop around much or travel with it, I opted to swap out the keyboard with a Logitech MX Keys Mini keyboard since it fit better on my desk, wasn't as flat as the Asus, and didn't have the trackpad since I prefer to use a mouse (a Logi MX Master 3S). The setup is now exactly what I wanted. This purchase was well worth the money for this laptop. It is a fantastic upgrade from my old Zenbook Duo. Five stars all the way.

Overall great laptop for my purpose
The laptop was purchased to be mainly used as my stock/options trading platform due to the 2 screens offered into one laptop. The screens are beautiful. Both screens provide a lot of screen estate and the quality is top notch. I really like the "feel" of the keyboard as well. Touch screen works well. It is soft but firm enough to provide satisfaction when pressed. The built-in software to control the screens feels a bit odd but once you get used to it, it's pretty easy to use. Battery life is mediocre, but this is expected when 2 screens are used simultaneously. When single screen is used, the battery provides around 6-7 hours of usual web browsing and videos. Noise level can be louder than expected, but you can toggle between performance, normal, quiet, etc. When left in quiet mode, the laptop performance is still great while keeping noise level quiet. Overall, really satisfied with the purchase. The laptop build feels solid and premium. Love the duo screens and keyboard.

This was worth the wait!
The 2025 version of this laptop comes with the Ultra 9 285H CPU, which was worth the wait. There are a ton of YouTube video reviews, so I will not go into all of the details - you should definitely watch them first, but here are my pros and cons: Pros: You can use it like a regular laptop, and it is totally stable and the keyboard is *great*. The OLED screens are beautiful and bright (though reflective in bright light). The vertical mode is super stable and easy to get used to. Moving apps between screens is simple, and I have had no problems at all. In "standard" mode, I almost never hear the fans, even with multiple programs running. The system uses a small 65W power brick...any 65W or higher PD brick will be fine. The premium body is not a fingerprint magnet. Battery life seems good, but I have not used it too much without AC Comes with the active pen, but I have no use for it The MyAsus application is very good, and puts the system controls in one place Cons: Heavier than your usual 14" laptop, but you have 2 screens :-) Two Thunderbolt 4 ports - why not TB 5? The keyboard battery life when removed from the body seems a bit short when the backlight is on The CPU can take more power, but it is limited in this machine to prevent it from throttling too much Battery life is limited due to the two screens, but that is to be expected Why not Win 11 Professional instead of Home for a premium device? There is only 1 M.2 slot for storage, which is a bummer Overall, this is one of the best machines I have ever used. Applications are quick, and I am never waiting for something to respond. This is NOT a gaming machine, regardless of what you might hear. The iGPU is not the best that Intel has to offer, and the NPU for AI is weaker than most - but for what it is meant to do, it excels. This is a business laptop dream - if you multi-task a lot, edit multiple documents at once, etc., it is perfect. Did I mention how great the keyboard is? :-) Highly recommended! R

Was great for 3 weeks, then problem after problem
Let me start this review by saying I have had Asus products in the past and loved them, but this one has been an expensive headache. To Preface this review: I take very good care of my laptops, I keep them in a laptop sleeve when traveling with it, whether it’s laptop only or in a bag with other accessories. Speaking of accessories, I only use name brand-name peripherals. Such as Anker, Belkin, Logitech, Acer, Sandisk Etc. , this is because I’ve heard of horror stories of the no-name brands causing issues. I’m coming from a Lenovo yoga pro from 2021, got this upgrade because I wanted a smaller laptop(not thinner), but still wanted a touch screen and extra screen real estate when needed. Prior to that, I still have my MacBook Pro from 2017. I purchased the Ultra 9 285H variant. NEW Purchased on July 26th 2025, Delivered July 30th 2025 The first 3 weeks of owning this laptop were great, Had no issues at all. It is a Powerhouse! Great for multi tasking , such as writing drafts and having a PowerPoint open. Handled video editing from my insta360 with no issues. And the 2.8K screen is vibrant and very bright, even in sunny conditions. Even handled some light gaming like Minecraft with no issues. Then out of no where, on August 21st 2025, every time I plugged in laptop to charge, the device would shut off. As if someone had unplugged the battery. No lights, no sound, no power. I Never used anything else to charge it but the included power cord and base. Reached out to the Asus Customer service, we tried troubleshooting it over the phone, No Luck. Was advised to send it in to Asus for repair. The Device was dropped off the following day at a FedEx location August 22nd. Fast forward~ I received the device back September 4th 2025 Via FedEx. Not quite two weeks of not having the laptop. According to the notes that were in the box, the mother board had to be replaced, but it did fix the issue of the laptop suddenly powering off when plugging it in. So inevitably I had to set up my laptop all over again. This morning after booting it up and setting up my Microsoft account, I spent about 30 minutes transferring important files and checked some emails to get some work done. I noticed the bottoms of the laptop was getting extremely hot. and the mouse pointer started skipping/glitching. I wasn’t doing anything particularly demanding of the laptop. I Was transferring word docs , excel spread sheets, and checking emails. I check the device status on the MyAsus app on the laptop, and it said I was using 5% CPU load but it was at 93degrees Celsius! Did a system diagnostic via the MyAsus app, and it said there could be an issue with the fan in the laptop. Reached back out to the Asus customer service, tried trouble shooting it, ran the system diagnostic. Same thing, it said there could be an issue with the fan. And once again, was advised I would need to send it back in for repair. Even though I had just received it from repairs not even 24 hours before! I received this device back yesterday (September 4th) around 8pm. And had to create a new RMA today (September 5th) at 3pm! Not only was the new motherboard they installed in my laptop obviously faulty, the QC after they replaced did not catch the fan issue. Even though the system diagnostics on the MyAsus app, is a one-click process! now I’m back to square one, sending the device back to Asus To fix another issue. I have now owned this laptop for roughly 36 days and 13 of those days the device has been gone for repair, And that’s about to be more. So after spending almost TWO THOUSAND dollars on this laptop, and have owned it for less than 6 weeks. The device is on its way back to Asus AGAIN. Only reason this isn’t a one star review is because I had a great experience with the device before it stopped working. I really hope Asus can make this right! (I Will update this review as it progresses) - 9/28/25 UPDATE: After sending the device back to Asus on the 9/5/25 i received it back on 9/24/25. According to the sheet in the box, the fans needed to be replaced. that's why it was over heating. an issue that could have been very easily caught if the had better QC before sending devices back. finally it seemed as if the laptop has had all the issues resolved, used it for not even 3 days! NOW ANOTHER ISSUE!!!! The audio jack is not working, I know for a fact it was working before I sent it for repairs with the very first one because I prefer to listen to music/work plugged in to my laptop with my audio-technica M50x for the best sound quality and zero latency. Now I'm only getting sound out of the right ear! tried updating the driver, updating the bios, uninstalling the audio drivers and reinstalling. still no luck!!!! Tried using 4 different wire headphones , all the same issue, no sound in the left. Contacted Asus and was told after trying to troubleshoot the issue, that I would AGAIN need to send in my device for repair. THIS DEVICE IS OBVIOUSLY A LEMON!!!! ITS TOO LATE FOR ME TO RETURN THIS TO GET A REFUND, SO AT THIS POINT I WOULD LIKE A NEW DEVICE. I have owned this device for 60 days.... and it has been gone for repair 35 of those days. this is ridiculous. I have changed this 2 star review to ONE STAR! so once again. I am back to square one, boxing up my device for the THIRD TIME to send it back to Asus. 9/28/25 [on a side note, I have not been contacted by any ASUS/AMAZON representatives or customer service to try to resolve this] (I Will update this review as it progresses)

Best Productivity Tool
The ASUS Zenbook Duo UX8406 is not just a laptop; it’s a game-changer that redefines what portable computing can be. With its innovative dual 14-inch 3K OLED touchscreens, powerful Intel Core Ultra processors, and a sleek, versatile design, this laptop is a dream for multitaskers, creators, and professionals alike. Intel Core Ultra 9 285H processor with an AI Boost NPU, 32GB of LPDDR5x RAM, and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, handled everything I threw at it—from video editing to light gaming—without breaking a sweat. The Intel Arc graphics provide a surprising punch for creative tasks, though this isn’t a gaming rig. The laptop’s AI capabilities shine in tasks like real-time video effects and optimized power management, making it a forward-thinking choice for the AI-driven future. Pros: Dual 14-inch 3K OLED touchscreens are gorgeous and versatile Powerful Intel Core Ultra 9 with AI capabilities Impressive battery life for a dual-screen device Detachable keyboard and stylus enhance flexibility Sturdy build with a clever kickstand Cons: Speakers lack depth Slightly heavier than single-screen ultraportables (but worth every extra for the productivity!) Reflective screens can be tricky in bright light (I use Matte screen protectors and this is a great addition) This is my everyday laptop for work and for home. I have a separate gaming pc with an RTX GPU. That said, this can run GTA V Enhanced no problem and even Stalker 2 at low settings. This by far is Asus's best creation so far for productivity yet.

This is the laptop with dual monitors at a great price 2025
4/30/26 zenbook duo 2025. I have been using this laptop for about 6 months now (default settings) and i can say this is one of the most compatible, no issue, no bloatware, non gaming laptop I have used in a long time. With nominal specs. Standard 32gb/1tb/Ultra 9 285. anything less than 32gb of ram is ok, less than 16gb is always on the verge of a slow down. nowadays 16gb ram is just ok. I have casual gamed on this lappy, like lower graphics games at ultra settings on the lappy. I have connected to a 49 in oled screen hdmi as well with 5k (5120x1440)+3k (2880x1800) res at 60Hz on both screens active. When using the bottom screen as a keyboard, it's a bit slow to reaction but it's expected. the keyboard is done right no wires to charge and connects via bluetooth. Plastic housing. I have not opened it up yet since the 1tb is sufficient since pretty much all my files are in the cloud or on the nas. RAM is not upgradeable, keeping that in mind, the intel arc 140t video graphics uses the onboard ram as well. Only SSD is upgradeable. Crisp clean oled touch screen. comes with a pen and charger, this lappy is near perfect as a daily driver. I do not video edit, other than one here or there, maybe 2-3 videos a year. As a productivity unit since dual monitors is key to paperless workloads, amazing! It looks like the price went up for 2026 by about 200.00, not surprising due to chip shortages. Release date was in 2/2025. Sound is okay, but does have dolby atmos/vision, it's the standard weight of about 4lbs and it's pretty quiet fan wise during basic use (browsing, spreadsheets, video streaming). Standard greyish housing with minimal logos and advertising. I use this lappy on a stand; for the less knowledgeable user, fan intakes are usually at the bottom so no leaving sitting on your bed or leaving it on in your backpack for extended periods. yes, even in sleep mode. fan output is on the sides by the ports.
