With a great teacher and this book. You'll be an expert on reading rhythms in a week!!
This book as helped me many of times when I've forgotten some things about EKG rhythms. Its breaks down everything about EKG rhythms and makes them easier to understand. Even a 12 year old could understand rhythms after reading this entire book. I had a great Paramedic teacher by the name of Mrs.Mattix and this book helped me to comprehend things more in depth that i may have not understood in class while she was trying to teaching me. Im not the sharpest knife in the drawer so if I can learn rhythms from this book so can you!

Ok but some frustrating gaffes.
Very helpful overall but some issues. First, the Pocket Guide that comes with the book, while helpful, does not actually have the ECG ruler that the book claims it has so you can't use it to find the HR on an ECG. Second, the book's explaination of how to find the axis using the Pocket Guide is pretty good but when you have to use the aVF as your isoelectric lead it is useless as the directions then tell you to look at lead II to see whether to use the positive or negative number... the only two numbers available are a zero and a +/- 180 so which one is positive and which is negative? You are better off to do it the old fashioned way (by looking at lead I then lead aVF to determine the quadrant first). Other issues have to do with editing errors, such as insisting that Infarction= oxygen deprivation and Ischemia= death of tissue (these definitions should be reversed and in fact they are... kind of... on the Pocket Guide but they are repeatedly wrong in the book). Other than that, a good supplement to any textbook on cardiovascular/pulmonary systems.

Recommend 100x
I love this book! It is so easy to use and you really do learn how to read EKGs. I used this book in nursing school and purchased it again now working as a nurse and passed an EKG exam studying from this book. Definitely recommend; a staple book I would say for anyone needing to know the basics of EKGs.

this book is very easy to follow and read
I was able to read entire book in a few hours and add notes from my power points from my lectures. Additional notes and hints for me to remember and study from. The only thing that I would have liked to have had is more EKG strips with same rhythms that looked a little different and also more of treatment in detail not just ACLS protocol. I would have liked to be more specific r/e what meds and dosages to give and max doses. I would have preferred it to be available on E book purchase item as it is too much to carry a book for everything easier to have access online.

From an ER nurses perspective, this is a great book to keep with you in your locker or to look over when you get home. the book has colorful pictures and great explanations. Full detail of each EKG picture, easy to read and great to review. It breaks everything down so you can learn it and remember it for any cardiac experience. Used it for years, and still go back to it. I would suggest this for any nurse that has to learn EKGs.

Helpful, informative, educational
This product is one that I purchased as a requirement for a nursing class, however I find that it is one that will be useful even long after the semester has ended. With helpful tools and educational explanations and exercised, this book has plenty to offer, and I'm glad I purchased it for sure!

I've been a telemetry nurse for 6 years and this book has helped me better understand what the heart is doing anatomically better than any textbook or ACLS class I've taken. I feel much more confident in reading my strips.
