I am glad I didn’t pay attention to any of the reviews. I was attracted to it by the fact the inner pot coating is ceramic, the right size for me and its attractiveness. More than a year now, it’s working without a hitch. Only thing that bothers me now is the escalating price By the way to start in motion you just have to lay your finger on start button and within 3 seconds it is activated.

I'll give you what I fid the pros and cons. Pros: - Fuzzy Logic (Makes good rice) - Small (Make rice for one/two people - or small family) - Multi-options (Quinoa, Brown/White Rice - Oatmeal...I believe) - Simple Clean (Two parts, all fit a singular way) - Simple to use (Pick a mode, press start - go) - You can fit this pretty easily into a small kitchen. (This does take up some space, but not as much as other appliances) Cons: - Keep warm, means keep crunchy. (I make the rice and serve, keep warm is a farce.) - Better than cheaper small options but not better than Asian based alternatives (See above) - No drain on this, versus other rice cookers which give you a drain for excess moisture you can clean out. So when you raise the lid, all the moisture flies to the base rim of the cooker. If you paddle poorly, you'll lose a small quantity of your rice to mush water as it might fall into the excess water. - Cord pops out the backside easily and often. (Not when cooking, but typically when setting it up) Neutral: - The measurements are always too watery for my tastes, but that's kind a universal rice-cooker thing - Non-stick (easy to clean, but chemicals no matter the "ceramic" selling point - breaks down eventually) The truth of the matter is I am mixed-race and grew up using rice cookers. But as an adult, I mostly swapped to just using a pot, as I think non-stick is pretty dubious. I got this for if I get sick, as it's easy for my partner to understand how to use. But I ended up using it like old times after a while, because it's pretty hands off. In fact, it's absolutely hands off. I would rate it as okay, not bad or great. It looks cuter on the outside, than it feels when the components are in hand. I used to have a 2-cup Zojirushi that was the size of a thimble. With a retractable cord, and the old school modular up/down switch. I wanted something similar as I find most rice cookers are too large for a small amount of people. While it's easy enough to reheat rice nothing is better than fresh. This does an okay job, but falls into the same trappings of other cheap cookers. Namely it cannot keep rice warm, so time it for immediate serving. Likewise the components feel competent but cheap. The bowl is the same thinness as all the other cheap cookers. But this might be the cheapest you can grab fuzzy logic for. So there's that. Your call, but if you are not used to a certain quality of rice you'll be totally fine. Oh, last thing being the cord constantly pops out the backside for me. So I will go to plug it in, and it won't turn on because the cord has popped out the backside. I give it a soft shove, and it turns right on. I was absolutely started they chose a static cord i the back over one which rolls back into it's chasis. To be honest though, this one would be easier to replace if something broke. It does pop out about once every fifth go though. Figured I should note, although it might have something to do with my unit over others. I can probably go into the back, shave off some of the plastic, and it'll stay stuck forever. It's probably too tight a fit for the plug so it keeps forcing it out after a while.

When I first purchased this I had trouble with the buttons and was about to return it until I read reviews advising that the buttons improve with user. And it did!! We've had this little pot for over a year and use it daily for our oatmeal. I would order it again if this one were to stop working! We love it!

Just made steel cut oats in this. So easy came out perfect.
