Organic Prairie Pasture Raised 85% Lean Organic Ground Beef, 1 lb

I could go into a long rant about the moral issues with conventional farms or the health issues involved with consuming antibiotics and steroids in our food, but I'm afraid that would overshadow the main point of this post which is: This meat is DAMN GOOD I used it to make sliders for my girlfriend and me and they were delicious. I'm sure it didn't hurt that I essentially fried them in lard butter on a cast iron skillet, which makes everything good, but the 85% lean beef was tender, juicy, delicious, and of course, buttery. From what i understand, Organic Prairies cows are pasture raised and grain finished, meaning that they spend most of their lives eating grass in a field but then are given grain to fatten them up a bit at the end of their cycle, which just makes for a super delicious burger. <3 Organic Prairie so much!

I don't like meat at all and hate preparing it. I've been known to eat a burger a few times a year at some specialty places but won't go near McDonald's burgers or anything non-GMO and non-organic when it comes to meat. It takes a lot for me to get it down. If you need more protein and want to occasionally eat meat this is the ticket. Maybe you have a kid who doesn't like meat. Handling the prep wasn't too bad. There's excess blood. Just look away. The meat is a bit thick but cooks up nice and tender. TIPS: As long as there are no allergies, wearing latex gloves while handling meat can help prevent the spread of bacteria. You can conceal texture by mashing eggs and crumbled Saltines into hamburger patties. Keep the sodium down. To conceal unwanted taste you can use both oregano and basil for seasoning. There were no issues with a gamey taste for me and no issues with gristle. Recommend and will purchase again.

Been very happy with the quality and value of this beef. $7 for a tasty lb of organic beef (at a better than 80/20 fat ratio) is well worth it. The only thing that minorly sketches me out is that the 21 g of protein does not contain an RDA value which suggests it might somehow not be a full 100% pure protein. I am going to assume this farm just couldn't afford the testing as beef is typically scored at 100%, but may be worth something looking into.

The ground beef did have a foul smell, could be from it sitting in its own blood for a while. I did wash my meat in cold water and it seemed to help. I browned the meat and made a pasta of it. I say it was pretty good but why so expensive?

Very tender, no gristle, no water, negligible visible fat, and I was pleasantly surprised. Made a great chili dish! The only downside might be that I would have liked a little more flavor, although it was good. Also, when I removed the package from my freezer, I noticed a small tear in the package, but not sure if it was torn from something in my freezer or not. All in all, a very satisfactory product! Will order again.

Words can't describe how TASTY this meat was!!!! Typically, I'm not even a meat eater!!!!!! I will continue shop through Amazon fresh even though my eggs broke all over the food in 2 of my bags. I had to throw away at least $60-$80 worth of food. It wasn't until I took a bite out of my dinner later that same night, that I finally stopped being mad!!!!!! This product has given me the desire to give Amazon 1 more chance!!!!!!! So, YES THIS MEAT IS FANTASTIC, UNBELIEVABLY TASTY, DELICIOUS & SAVORY!!!!! I could keep going on and on!!!!!

Worth it! FRESH. FREEZES well. We are always hesitant to eat meat these days anyway. So to venture out an purchase a new brand name to us, well, we rarely do. But this hamburger was delicious. WE grilled a few for guest, and we all loved them.

Amazingly fresh ground beef. Often ground beef purchased at the grocery store, even packages labeled as packed that day, does not seem all that fresh. I have often bought supermarket ground beef that is red and fresh-looking on the outside, but the inside is grayish. Not this ground beef. It was well worth the cost. It tasted and smelled fantastically fresh, and it was well worth the cost.
