Comprehensive study material. Includes all 36 elements of the test. Sad that the worksheet book is unavailable. Next version needs to include.

The book that no one wants, but everyone needs.
So there are some 5 star reviews, and some 1 star reviews. The fact remains that this book is the only game on town if you want to directly study the AET with circuits and examples from the test itself. Aircraft Electricity and Electronics (Thomas K Eismin) is too broad and won't get you half of what you need, and Avionics: Beyond the AET (Tom Inman) starts too advanced. Just buy this and accept the fact that your only option for studying this test is a flawed one.=== His website (avionicseducation dot com) has this book and the study guide for only $120 ===Pros:Facts, figures, and circuits directly from the AET test. Will teach you everything on the test.Thick enough to almost justify that giant price tag.Cons:Written with all the skill and verbal grace of a 5th grader.Poor understanding of contraction's.Factual errors (but not as many or as dire as others make it sound). The only book published that lets you study the AET completely. In summary, buy it, even if you don't want to. Or else be like me and buy every alternative and end up paying the same as this one costs, and then buy this one as well.

Maybe that's why the felt they could get away with this crap. The info is their but the writing and ...
If only I could put no stars for this review!! Who ever published/edited this study guide needs to be stoned! It is an absolute monstrosity, and gives me a headache just trying to read it. Don't get me wrong, the information is there you just have to decipher it. Prime example when talking about the numbering system - I was racking my brain trying to figure out what the hell the LSB is, because it was never explained. After glancing at my key board it dawned on me that its suppose to say LSN (least significant number). The author should have paid more attention, and the editor should have done an actual job editing it. Unfortunately this is about the only study guide I could really find for the NCATT AET so you're kind of screwed. Maybe that's why the felt they could get away with this crap. The info is their but the writing and publishing of it is BS!! Ive seen third graders do a better job than this. If I had read the reviews prior to purchasing this I would have saved myself the money, and just studied the aspects covered on the exam. Because of the presentation of the material in this book, and the fact you could learn the info on the internet, I don't think this book is worth 50 cents.

Full of errors in content, spelling, etc
No other way to describe it that a mediocre text at best. Poorly written, with lots of errors. The circuit theory section is pathetic, using 19th century analogies for voltage and current, so discouraging that I find it hard to continue to study with this book. Unfortunately according to the comments this is the only guide to use, as it parallels the test (the author wrote both, and has a pretty good gig selling this poor excuse for a study guide).I will not be buying the study guide, as $100 spent on this book is enough. The Avotek "fundamentals of aircraft electronics" and Glencoe "Aircraft electricity and electronics" are superior books, both in content, layout, presentation of the material and graphics.

Seems like the author was in a rush to get this ...
The information covered here may be adequate for the AET test; however, the book definitely needs some serious rework in the editing department. Seems like the author was in a rush to get this book published. There is just a ridiculous amount of careless grammatical and spelling errors throughout the book--so much that it was hard to follow and was very distracting. Also, there were a bunch of just plain wrong information. I have already spotted a few in the first couple chapters. For example, "I = V/P", "Orange-orange-yellow-silver resistor is 44x10^3 ohms", "the last band is silver which the tolerance for this resistor is 5%". WRONG WRONG WRONG!! To the beginner reader, this will be misleading.
