Last week, I purchased two of these sensors, a hub and a Smart 2 zone water timer. All Rainpoint products.After a few hours fiddling with I couldn't get the hub to load. A call to customer service helped find that the issue was that the Home App is not the correct app to use. The app needed is Rainpoint Tuya. Using the Tuya version of the app the hub and Smart 2 zone timer work great.Following the instructions included with the sensors, I cannot get the sensors to connect to the app. I guess tomorrow will be another customer service call. The sensors function in stand alone mode, they just won't connect wirelessly. The wireless function is why I purchased these items.

Google the ideal moisture levels for my plants as reference and set up the watering plans. As the sensor could be left in soil 24/7 and detect automatically, it’s easy to track changes of moisture level over time via the app. The data logging and low moisture alert features enable me to adjust my watering schedule accordingly. By using this , figuring out the optimal watering cycle is a breeze rather than a guesswork. In addition, I keep two sensors in my parents’ house and add my account under their’s, so that I can keep an eye on their veggies for them by using the co-management feature in the app. Inspired by one of the users, I DIY the sensor in my cosmos garden. The unit seems to measure the soil moisture fine. However, the instructions for setting up the unit and app are "Pair the unit with your hub.". This must be dine before installing the app. Unless you or someone you know can do this, good luck using it.
