Very Nice! 2200 Lumens MUCH Brighter Than 1600 Lumens Models! Safe too!
I paint 28mm modern wargaming miniatures. I need a magnifying lamp and I've been through a few. This particular unit was about $20 more than the last two lamps I purchased. All have been the same design, essentially, two arms with springs and tightening dials at the joints and clamped to the table exactly the same way. So far, this particular magnifying lamp has been much better than the ~$30 models I purchased previously. The reasons:1) The vast majority have a light output of 1600 lumens while this model is rated at 2200 lumens and the difference is immediately apparent. The 1600 lumens models were all just a little bit weaker than I liked before I even knew a 2200 lumens model was available.2) Folding cover over the Magnifying glass. I believe it has kept the glass cleaner.3) This model has an extension at the top of the magnifying glass frame. You grab this part to move the glass & light around. The other models require you to grab the actual plastic covering of the light ring and I would occasionally accidently touch the lense glass underneath.4) The power switch is a twist knob attached to the glass/light frame instead of that little box with push buttons. You can adjust light intensity by turning the knob, though I always leave it in Max position**********************************************************************************************************************THE MOST IMPORTANT REASON WHY I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ONE OF THE OTHER STYLE LAMPS AGAIN...This unit has a traditional power plug. There is a cord that comes out of the lamp like the others, but there is no control box inline and MOST IMPORTANTLY the other 1600 lumens models all used a USB connection that plugged into a block which plugged into the power outlet. This model plugs straight into your power outlet. That block with the cheaper models resembles a cell phone charger. The thing is, that power block gets INSANELY HOT! In return, the male end USB connector which plugs into the power block also gets INSANELY HOT! Over time, that connection became loose for some reason with all of the previous lamps and the lamp would shut off. On the last model I had, I disconnected the USB cable from the power/charger block after having the lamp turned on for 5-6 hours. Usually disconnecting the cable and plugging it right back in would restore power and the light would turn back on. I made the mistake of holding the metal, male USB end and literally burned my thumb and pointer finger!! NOT, "Ouch! That's hot!" Nope. THIS WAS AN ACTUAL BURN THAT RESULTED IN A TINY BLISTER AND EVENTUALLY DEAD PEELED SKIN!! USB plugs are not supposed to burn you. That is what made me replace the lamp immediately. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that someone left their lamp on, fell asleep or left the house, and woke up or came home to a blazing fire. Seriously. Spend a few extra bucks for this model. It is written in the description, but I didn't notice when I made the purchase. It's okay because I didn't care, but be warned that this lamp produces a slightly COOL light and there are no other modes like the 1600 lumens models usually have 3 settings. I really like the cool bluish light, personally.

Very Good Mag/Lamp With Two Easy Fixes...
The variable brightness on this thing is probably its best feature. The magnification is good as well depending on the task, just don’t expect to be able to do microbial work with it. The glass is large enough that you don’t have to get in super close to see everything or shut one eye. Being LED lights it’s plenty bright and it doesn’t get hot too the touch. The range is pretty decent and it’s fairly adjustable from almost any angle. There are two things that I disliked, but they’re both super easy fixes.First: Change the damn knob near the base of the lamp. It’s the smallest knob on the entire fixture so it’s difficult to turn and get a tight grip on if you want to set the lamp from swinging any. While you’re at it just replace the screw that comes attached to the knob as well. It’s just a regular machine screw with a flat bottom. I changed mine out with a half inch quarter 20 set screw (the screws that have the tapered pointed tip.) and a large tri-knob I had left over from a telescope dismount. You could also use any large knob with a regular quarter 20 screw attached and just file the tip down to a fine point.Second: the base is just a tube of aluminum so it’s hollow and not very rigid. This leads to the lamp base being easily bent if too much force is placed on the head during movement AND it doesn’t give the set screw a good surface to grip onto. My solution was to take a 2 inch long of solid 1/4 inch diameter aluminum rod to shove into that hollow section. It fit nicely after a little sanding and some epoxy to hold it in place. This increased its rigidity, as well as gave a solid surface for the set screw to bite into.

GREAT!
I had one of these and it finally fell apart. So, I bought this one. Wow! It is so much better than the old one I had (different brand). I can't believe I put up with the old one for so long. I definitely recommend this to anyone who does close up work and needs help seeing. The light is adjustable. You can make it dimmer or brighter, whatever works best for you. The magnifier is the best I've ever used. And I like the cover that goes over the magnifier. It keeps dust off of it when not in use. The clamp for the table is very nice. No plastic. You can adjust it as tight as you need it. I would buy it again.

Great magnifying lamp for the price but this is a 3 diopter (1.75X mag)
I bought this to help with repairing/building electronic assemblies. It is lightweight and of good quality.Although the label states it requires 110V 50/60Hz, it does in fact work perfectly on a 220V supply ( there is a switched mode PSU built into the lamp housing). The clamp is perfect for my workbench (though it won't fit a second table I have with a beveled edge since the clamp is not deep enough to fit the flat section of that particular table). The maximum clamp opening is 56mm (minimum is 3mm) and the depth is 43mm (36mm to the edge of the rotating section). The clamp has a thumbscrew one can tighten to prevent the lamp from swiveling around. The central arm joint has a knob that can be used to tighten the joint and keep the lamp in position. When the lamp is lowed such that the angle between the arms is about 80 degrees or less, the knob hits the spring, so depending on the knob position the spring has to bend around the knob. The lower arm can lower almost horizontally across the desk, but can bend backwards only about 45 degrees.Another knob tightens a small clamp around the stem of the lamp housing itself to lock it in position. The housing can therefore tilt up and down or rotate on its stem, but it can't move sideways.Unfortunately the housing clamp knob needs to be turned really tight to hold the housing in a stable position and is not that sturdy. I am worried how it will stand up to being tightened so much. I am thinking of trying to install two split washers to help make it tighter. The lens is very clear glass with no tint. However the lens is advertised as being a 5 diopter lens (2.25X magnification or a focal length of 200mm), yet my measurements put the focal length at 333mm (i.e. a diopter of 3 or only 1.75X magnification! The lighting is very good, with a small rotary potentiometer with built-in switch for brightness control and to turn the lamp on/off.Overall I am very happy with the lamp but took off a star for incorrectly advertised magnification.

Top notch tool for closeup work
Just got this delivered today, attached it to my workbench and put it through its paces. I'll be using it mainly for woodburning, power Dremel carving, and to see closer to my small benchtop bandsaw, as well as using it for magnifying what my tired old eyes can not see clearly any more. The light is SUPER bright and the built in dimmer lets me adjust it to any brightness I need. The glass lens has NO distortion at all, unlike other magnifying glasses made from cheap acrylic that gives me a headache when looking through them.Very well made, a strong and beefy clamp to attach it to my workbench, and the range of motion allows me to get it aimed exactly where I need it.5 Star rating in every category. I am VERY pleased with this unit!

Would buy again
Honestly, I’m very impressed. The light doesn’t sag, it’s extremely bright, the magnification is perfect for detail work. Has a nice and compact footprint and works exactly as intended.

Flimsy build. Lamp head droops and doesn't stay put
This lamp is probably fine if you don't need to move the head, but then why would have such a lamp in the first place? I was immediately put off by the flimsy build of the lamp arm, and once it was all put together, it was clear that no effort went into making this a product that will last a long time or be of much use. The lamp head isn't very stable — it doesn't stay where you put it, even when tightened down. For that matter, the magnification isn't very good. There's too much distortion, but I think that's just what you get with a 10x lens. The lamp does get points for the continuous dimming control. The desk clamp itself is actually quite nice. If only they had followed through and made the lamp that goes into it as good.I ended up returning this and buying the Neatfi XL Bifocal LED Magnifying Lamp. It's well made and worth the extra money. The magnification is only 2.5x, but it's sufficient for my use, the focus is clear across the lens diameter, and the lower magnification means I don't need to have the lens so close to my work in order for it to focus. I can recommend it.

Good lighting
Love the build, material and light color.

It works perfectly
Amazing product, easy to install, easy to work with. Very bright light and flexible. The dimer does a really good job. I use it for scale modeling and it’s really a must have item.
