This is a replica pirate sword. It's metal. It's sturdy. It's under a hundred bucks. That should be enough. Those who nitpick and want a work of art need to search for something like "Beautiful Display Sword to Impress Women". I assume pirate swords of the day were even this nice. So let's just assume they were going for realism here. They were functioning nonfancy tools of the trade. I would be a bit miffed if they tried to make it more pretty. I wanted something a little rougher... something that looked like it was used and repaired and then used again. For a pirate cosplay or costume this fits the bill 100%. Buy with confidence if you want something old looking and sturdy.

I’ve been a fan of swords ever since watching “Zorro” as a kid. I’ve owned quite a few over the years, and this one is mighty fine! A real sword, sharp as a razor, and extremely well-made with quality materials. And it’s a steal at the price! 👍🏴‍☠️

Almost real quality sword! Has an edge, be careful! I can't imagine much of a better find if you are looking for a costume upgrade to authentic quality. Added this to my Renfest pirate affair and everyone wanted to swing it around and stab things. Looks great, feels great, comes with a metal loop for hanging on your costume, and the weight is just right. At first I was a bit concerned about the weight being off because if you only rely on the loop for a holster it swings a lot when I walk, but I found if I kept my hand rested on the hilt it stayed in a good position and I naturally ended up looking really legit in photos, just like in the movies. Also, it doesn't rattle around inside when you walk or have silly skulls and crossbones all over it.

This is a pretty decent, basic, no frills cutlass. It's very plain, utilitarian. The construction is fair, though mine has some rattle to the basket. The handle is also plastic. Altogether it is a superior costume piece at a good price if you're going for a more realistic pirate look rather than something with a big decorative basket. I wouldn't want to use it for any sort of training or cutting, though the point is sharp enough to easily penetrate anything soft, cardboard, etc. If your choice is like a $15 piece of plastic, this is a nice upgrade sine it's actually a sword. Size is accurate for a boarding cutlass and it's a good size for wearing all day at a faire.

Most my reviews are negative, but occasionally I have to write a good one. This is one. I read the other reviews and they all looked good except for the comment about the sword sheath. While I agree with the description of how it works, mine had no issues. The sword was perfect for what I wanted. Not poor quality and a dull blade (although it looks sharp). Good sword for the price.

If you're looking for a sturdy, high quality pirate cutlass sword - this is the one! Hard to tell if it's actually full-tang sword, but it's definitely sturdy and well crafted - No cheap materials here! Exactly as pictured, and came well packaged. Definitely worth every penny, and will probably buy another one in the near future.

It's for a costume so it's fantastic for what I need. Only downside is that because it is legitimately sharp I doubt I would be allowed in conventions with it... I haven't tried cutting a tomato with it, but I'm sure I could if the slice was thick. Not sure if that detail is helpful or not. *shrug* It looks great, and feels good. When sheathing it, it does catch when it's about 6 inches from the end which is annoying, but not a deal breaker.

This is actually a good quality sword, I have a couple from Faire's and this one is right on par.

The blade length is the accurate shorter shipboard close combat length. The steel is good enough to take an edge. The hilt is solid and fits your hand well. The guard is solid metal and solid in place to offer real protections. I did not have any issue with wobble or jiggle that I saw in other reviews. The pommel nut is plain but it was securely in place. The scabbard is a solid material, it fits the blade well even after repeated drawing and sheathing.

Very high quality reproduction Pirate cutlass. This is pretty much the real thing so be extremely careful. Bought this as decoration for a pirate themed lake house but will probably need to lock the guard to the scabbard for safety. Highly recommended.

Great looking sword! It took a while though to wear it in so that the sword would actually fit into the holder without difficulty.

Does the job for the event wardrobe I wear.
