Upon setting up this phone in the United States, I initially couldn't receive long-range text messages or one-time passcodes. It constantly displayed a "refreshing SIM data" error, meaning the cell connection was frequently dropping. Being an international phone, it is constantly scanning for different compatible networks, hence the service disruption... If this is your experience too, you MUST manually update your settings, to lock in your "APN" (Access Point Name) -- to permanently linking your phone service to a specific network provider. Because this is a T-Mobile phone ONLY, you MUST update your settings the the T-Mobile APN. I have copied this information below directly from their website so you don't have to go looking for it! Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names, tap Add, and enter these exact values: Name: T-Mobile APN: fast.t-mobile.com MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc MCC: 310 MNC: 260 APN Type: default,supl,mms APN Protocol: IPv4/IPv6 Save these settings to lock in the new service provider's profile, then reboot your device. And you're good to go -- no more dropped calls or missing texts! Once I locked that in, all disconnections stopped instantly and regular service has been maintained ever since! If I review this as a phone, it would show disappointment because few networks in the USA are compatible. One I found so far is Mint Mobile, but I did it wrong and chose the esim option and this phone doesn't have that. Despite this setback. I will keep this device because the truth is that being a phone is secondary to me. I might at a later date look for other networks or request help from Mint. Anyway, I find that phones have robust operating systems and make excellent tablets and gaming devices. My review is now as a tablet. It's quite good for research, email, streaming, and gaming, and this is a nice portable size for travel and checking information on the go. Before you say that a phone can do all this, my review is for the few of you out there who don't require a phone if you already have one or simply don't want one, and wonder how well a phone can do when used as a tablet. I gave it 4 stars because setup was complicated by the need to navigate away from setting up a Samsung account when my preference is a Google account, and the Samsung account setup didn't work well. Once I got by this, all was well.

Ho acquistato questo Samsung Galaxy A16 4G LTE con un obiettivo molto semplice: trovare uno smartphone che fosse concreto, affidabile nell’uso quotidiano e, soprattutto, con un rapporto qualità prezzo convincente. Dopo averlo provato per un po’, posso dire che la sensazione generale è stata proprio quella di aver fatto una scelta sensata. Non cercavo un telefono da far “notare”, ma un dispositivo che mi accompagnasse nelle attività di tutti i giorni senza darmi la percezione di aver speso più del necessario rispetto a quello che offre. La prima impressione è stata positiva già dal momento in cui ho iniziato a usarlo. Si capisce subito che si tratta di un prodotto pensato per chi vuole qualcosa di pratico, senza complicazioni inutili. Il fatto che sia un dual SIM, per me, è stato un elemento utile perché aggiunge flessibilità nella gestione delle due linee. Anche la presenza di 4GB di RAM e 128GB di memoria mi è sembrata una combinazione equilibrata per questa fascia, soprattutto se si cerca un telefono essenziale ma con un margine di utilizzo abbastanza tranquillo nella vita di tutti i giorni. Quello che mi ha convinto di più, però, è l’insieme. Non ho avuto la sensazione di trovarmi davanti a un prodotto costruito al risparmio in modo evidente, ma a un modello che cerca un buon compromesso tra dotazione e spesa. Io non lo vedo come la scelta per chi cerca il massimo in assoluto sotto ogni aspetto, ma come una soluzione molto valida per chi dà priorità alla convenienza concreta. È proprio in questo senso che mi ha soddisfatto: non promette più di quello che può offrire, e anzi riesce a trasmettere una sensazione di ordine e coerenza che, per me, vale molto più di tante promesse generiche. Un altro elemento che ho apprezzato è la semplicità con cui entra nella routine quotidiana. Quando un telefono non complica le cose, il suo valore cresce, soprattutto per chi desidera usarlo senza doverci pensare troppo. In questo caso, la dotazione generale mi è sembrata ben calibrata per un utilizzo normale, e la memoria interna da 128GB dà una base interessante per chi ha bisogno di spazio senza voler salire su modelli più impegnativi. Anche qui, il punto non è stupire, ma risultare utile in modo concreto.
