Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Reformer Spray, Instantly Converts Rust to a Protected Paintable Surface, No Bare Metal Sanding Required, Black, 10.25 oz

Sanded any small rust areas of my wrought iron furniture and sprayed those areas. Great coverage. Then I gave a black satin Rust-Oleum coat to all the furniture. I’ve had my furniture close to 40 years and trust only Rust-Oleum to keep it protected and looking new.

I have a used 40' foot Conex metal storage container that has lots of rust on it especially on the edges and needed a spray paint product which would help keep the rusted areas from getting any worse especially since this Conex cost me 5K. I am so glad I found this product which sprays over the rusted areas easily once I scraped off the excess rust with a paint scraper. It dries very quickly and has a flat black finish that can be easily painted over. I have used 6 cans of this product so far and have 3 more to go before all the rusted areas are treated with it. I then plan on painting the Conex with some Henry acrylic elastomeric bright white paint which should help keep the inside of the container cooler, since right now it is a dark blue color which gets incredibly hot inside. I am also installing 2 wind turbines on the roof to remove the hot air inside the Conex. I highly recommend this spray paint product to others who need to treat rusted areas on any metal surface before the damage gets any worse.

I used it to touch up on some miscellaneous parts on my Jeep. I bought the primer too, cause I wasn’t sure if I needed it or not, and you don’t with this stuff. I brushed off any surface rust with a wire brush, rinsed it off and let it dry. Then I hit it with two coats of this. It’s a high quality product. It dried super fast. It was super easy to use. I recommend pulling the can back a good distance and lightly coating it for smaller jobs cause it has good coverage and comes out pretty thick. That being said, a little goes a long way. I let it dry for a couple days cause I wasn’t in a hurry to put the parts back on, but I’m sure it would have been fully dry not even by the end of the first day. Its adhesion is impressive and there’s no chips or scrapes on the paint anywhere yet. Great product for the price.

I used this paint on some vintage metal deck chairs I refinished. It covered well and was easy to apply. For two large-sized metal chairs, it took about 3 cans for full coverage. I gave them a light sanding and cleaned of any rusty spots that I could access. I was hoping the rust-busting properties would help keep the areas that are harder to access with tools/sandpaper from rusting agin, but when I pulled them out this year, I saw that those areas did have some light rust on them again. Luckily, they are not where people will sit on the chairs and it should not affect their clothing. For such a long job, I did buy the trigger that fits onto the top of the can and it made a huge difference in hand fatigue. I'm pleased with how they turned out, but wish that the formula really did stop rust in those problem areas. They cleaned up nicely when bringing them out of storage.

Bought this to prep my metal patio furniture before painting. It did an amazing job I honesty only needed 1 coat but did do 2 to be sure i didn’t miss anything. It dries with a powdery texture which I honestly could have easily left it decided to go over it with a satin finish spray paint. I would definitely order these again. I bought 2 cans and I was able to paint 2 chairs 2 side tables and a 3 seater metal couch.

One of my favorite paints in a can. Unfortunately I'm located in the northeast and things rust. This stuff makes surface rust disappear and leaves a nice flat black surface. Also online price is better than most box stores.

THIS 10.25OZ CAN PAINTED MY CARS FOUR WHEELS ON CAR WITH 2 COATS. 2 OF THE WHEELS HAD A LARGE AMOUHT OF RUST AND 2 LESS. GETTING FLAT BLACK WORKED OUT BECAUSE YOU DON'T NOTICE OVERSPRAY ON TIRES SO MUCH.
