A GREAT purchase!
We live in San Diego, so are at the beach a lot. Bought this for my teen son, so he can change in and out of a wetsuit without fussing with holding up a towel. He LOVED it. It's heavyweight, so will keep him warm when the sun goes down. It has a rustic, beachy appearance, so it doesn't look like he is wearing a "spa" towel around on the beach. The color is beautiful. It's water absorbent and soft. It's generously sized, so wide enough for dressing and undressing underneath without any "peek-a-boos". Plus the hood is lined, so when pulled up it stays there, is soft on your head, and blocks the wind (like a sweatshirt). The best part is something we did not think of until he actually put it on... the upper pocket a super bonus- high enough and deep enough that he can keep his phone inside without risk of it falling out while he changes. If you are thinking of buying, go for it! This is well worth the purchase price.

The texture and thickness feels great made extremely well.
I was looking for something to wear to and from my daily morning swim and this everything and so much more. For one thing I am a plus size 22 and this lose fitting on me. It's thick for the cold morning here on the central coast. So it easy just throw it on after and drive home. The material is good quality as sewn well. This going to last me forever. It is not like those flimsy microfiber or Turkish towel covers. Moreover it's totally worth buying and would make a great present for anyone who loves doing any water activity.I truly wish they came in kid sizes I would buy them for my grandsons hint, hint! They make a great father day or graduation 🎁! I usually don't do many reviews but this product truly impressed me!

Almost perfect
Arrived quickly and easily able to open package. Good quality with stitching without a lot of loose ends. Heavy duty cotton. It’s definitely soft and didn’t have much of a fuzz come off in the dryer. I don’t believe it shrank with both washing and drying on low. Quite absorbent. It is 5 stars but wish the sleeves were longer to keep the wind from blowing through the generous arm holes.

Warm, cozy, full coverage
This changing towel is perfect. It's thick, absorbent, and has a great hood and the pocket in front is nice for warming hands. If you're trying to conserve space, this might not be the item for you, since it is pretty bulky, but we love the thickness of it. The length is great for taller people since other changing towels always seemed too short for my 6'3" husband. Don't worry, the length is also good for average-height folks like me (5'7"). Very happy.

Perfection, roomy and cozy(after a wash) !! Help save baby sea turtles!
I love this! I saw a lady going into the Y as I was taking my husband in for pool exercise therapy and did a double take! She told me she got it online. I took a chance when I got home and looked it up on Amazon and there it was! I ordered it and I was not disappointed! It will be perfect for the fall and winter months here on the East Coast! It does soften after washing. It is roomy and a great length! I also purchased a lighter cotton version from the same company which is perfect for the weather now! I’m in love with both of them! I am a curvy girl, 5’8” and 220lbs and I have plenty of room in both of these! It doesn’t hurt that this company partners with SEEturtles.org. So a portion of your purchase goes to the survival of baby sea turtles! I personally have a huge love of sea turtles. I highly recommend both of these surf ponchos! They are worth every penny! Lounge in them, use them as a cover up or your own changing station but they are ammmmaaahhhzing! Huge fan here!

Way nicer than it looks in the photo
I live in Oregon and it’s cold after our winter paddles. I’ve been looking for a poncho but just haven’t found one that has good design details and a pleasing color. This poncho is even nicer than it looks in the photos! The neck opening is large enough to accommodate changing while wearing a hat with a bill but there are also buttons that allow you to make the opening smaller or larger. Hood is lined with soft terry and has a drawstring. The front warming pockets are functional but there is also a zippered small pocket for phone, money, etc… Cotton is thick, a bit warm for our summers but perfect for spring, winter and fall. It’s definitely going on vacation with me in Baja this winter!

Premium price; ok quality
Was so excited to receive this and take it out now that it's gotten pretty cold around dawn patrol surfing. I'm mostly happy with it; it's nicer than a cheap-o hooded towel in terms of overall quality. However, a couple of problems limit my ability to really recommend it at the (high) price:1. after the first wash, the hood immediately developed a large separation between the liner and the exterior with a ton of loose thread. I washed it according to the instructions so this is either a one-off quality issue or it's just not that high quality to begin with. Simple enough to repair with a needle and thread, but not what I'd expect from a "premium" item.2. The comments from other reviewers about the hood are true--it's small. Or, guess...short. I'm 5'8 barefoot and when i put the hood up i can feel the entire weight of the poncho pulling down on my head. The hood is small enough that you can't just casually flip it up and let it sit there; it lifts the whole poncho off even my shoulders. It's a bummer because the lining on the hoodie is really comfortable and it feels like something you'd WANT to wear, but it makes it so it's really only comfortable to have up briefly while changing. If this poncho was like twenty bucks cheaper I think I'd see it in a much more favorable light given the flaws. Unfortunately the current price does not match the offered quality.

Thick, soft and warm
I've had mine for 3 years. The material is very soft and softens even more after washing and wearing. It is warm, like a blanket, which is great for winter. It is not the thin, terry cloth ponchos you might see for half the price. However, for me, it's too thick for summer.
