The design and construction of the pugio was taken from Iberian daggers and short swords. Like the gladius, a legionaries most used weapon, the pugio was most used as an extreme close-quarter combat weapon, the pugio was the Roman soldier's last line of defense. The Pugio Damascus Dagger is a work of art in both form and function. The Damascus twist pattern and the inlayed Stag antler handle create a visually appealing harmony. As a tool, the extremely sharp double edge on this modified dagger and solid hand will make the most finicky blade connoisseur salivate. In a world where machines make more and more of the things we buy, it is refreshing to find a product as finely finished as this Damascus steel knife and know that it was hand forged, and hand made with the same tools and techniques from centuries ago. The attention to detail, quality and hand-crafted nature of this knife are on par with on artistic creation that belongs on display while its durability, razor sharpness and practicality are more than adequate if this is intended as a working knife. Because each knife is hand made from natural materials, there will be some variation in color, Damascus pattern and overall look. The knife you receive will have the same attention to quality and detail as the one pictured but may differ slightly in appearance. * Overall Length: 7.75” * Handle Length: 4” * Blade Length: 3.75” * Blade Material: Damascus Steel * Blade thickness: 4mm * Damascus pattern: Twist * Number of layers: 264 * Grind: Secondary bevel * Handle Material: Stag Antler * Includes: hand stitched full grain leather sheath with belt loop * Includes a quality, handmade wood gift box. ## Features - 264 Layer Twist Pattern with Custom Mercedes Stamp Texture - Hand Forged & Hand Crafted Damascus Steel (1095 & 15n20) - Durable and Attractive Full Tang Design with Stag Antler & Stainless Steel Bolster - Razor Sharp 4mm Thick Double Edged Blade with a Hardness of 57-59 Hrc on rockwell scale - Hand Ground Secondary Bevel on Both Cutting Edges - Overall Length: 7.75" (Blade 3.75", Handle 4") ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Recommended Uses For Product | Construction | | Brand | Forseti Steel | | Special Feature | Full Tang | | Age Range (Description) | Adult | | Handle Material | Wood | | Color | Stainless Steel | | Blade Material | Stainless Steel | | Style | Modern | | Power Source | Manual | | Product Care Instructions | Hand Wash Only | | Blade Edge | Compound Bevel | | Item Length | 7.75 Inches | | Manufacturer | Forseti Steel | | UPC | 608866017790 | | Item Package Dimensions L x W x H | 14.21 x 4.88 x 4.25 inches | | Package Weight | 0.76 Kilograms | | Brand Name | Forseti Steel | ## Product Details - **Recommended Uses For Product:** Construction - **Brand:** Forseti Steel - **Special Feature:** Full Tang - **Age Range (Description):** Adult - **Handle Material:** Wood - **Color:** Stainless Steel - **Blade Material:** Stainless Steel - **Style:** Modern - **Power Source:** Manual - **Product Care Instructions:** Hand Wash Only ## Images ![Forseti Steel Pugio Damascus Steel Dagger - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/714RnL36BoL.jpg) ![Forseti Steel Pugio Damascus Steel Dagger - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91oRqzJ-DQL.jpg) ![Forseti Steel Pugio Damascus Steel Dagger - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91OpSZdemkL.jpg) ![Forseti Steel Pugio Damascus Steel Dagger - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91gFaSW0fPL.jpg) ![Forseti Steel Pugio Damascus Steel Dagger - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91avHN1oA8L.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Blade! *by T***E on Reviewed in the United States on July 17, 2015* Purchased this blade a year ago.Sharp as a razor.Nice heft to the blade. It has not rusted. The blade is still as sharp as the day I purchased it despite my being too lazy to take a stone to it.I've dropped it. I've sliced and diced with it.I carry the blade with me every day in Afghanistan. The thing is so sharp that I cut myself with it the day I received it. I loaned it to a few folks to cut some stencils about 6 months after I'd purchased it and two of the guys using it sliced their thumbs despite my warning to be careful. Now they won't touch it. lolI love this knife. It's been a useful tool. It feels like a weapon in my hand as it has perfect weight and balance. It's also a damn handsome blade with excellent craftsmanship. Any time I pull it out friends and co-workers complement it. Even a couple of operators who are well acquainted with knives and their practical application. ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible quality blade *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on August 11, 2014* Terrible quality blade. I oiled the hell out of it and it still rusted to oblivion within a week. Was not remotely sharp upon arrival. I am rather deft with an oilstone. Despite my best efforts I gave this one up as a stupid purchase. Serves absolutely no purpose other than looking intimidating on my bookshelf. The sheath sucks. The knife is inconceivably heavy for its size. Don't buy this s***. Totally reckless purchase on my part ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Presentation is everything *by V***N on Reviewed in the United States on July 1, 2018* This was a birthday gift for my husband and he loved it --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/69230399-forseti-steel-pugio-damascus-steel-dagger](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/69230399-forseti-steel-pugio-damascus-steel-dagger) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-01*
