It works like a charm!
I bought this for my attic office, as it's the only space in the house without air conditioning. I was a little skeptical at first, but I've been pleasantly surprised by how well it works, even in the middle of summer. Despite being in a place that tends to get very hot, the environment now remains quite comfortable and pleasant to work in.I love that it has a remote control and a 12-hour timer, so I can program it without worry. It's also quiet and easy to move if I want to use it elsewhere. In short, for me, it was a practical, effective, and economical solution.

Exceptional option if you can't set up an ac unit.
I had doubts because I bought this for a room that faces southwest and gets exceedingly hot in the afternoons.I'm so happy that I took the chance though. It holds gallons of water and produces just the right amount of humidity. The air coming out feels cool and lovely, not lukewarm and soggy like other swamp coolers I've owned. It has pretty good output with minimal noise.I hope it lasts a long time because it's working perfectly.I don't know if it could cool a room much larger than 120sf, but it's doing a great job for a room around that size.Very good value for the money and a great option if for whatever reason you can't just hook up an air conditioner. This room only has a hung door out to a balcony and the windows don't open (annoying!) so I can't vent an air conditioner which is another reason I'm super thankful to have found this cooler fan. Last year was miserable. This year is like living in another (cooler) climate.

Worked way better than I had expected... so happy!
I bought this product almost 100% sure it wouldn't work and I would have to return it. Boy was I wrong!Nobody confuses Florida with being a cool place to live, temperature-wise, but the current heat dome has made the "feel like" temperatures approaching 115. Even with 2 3-ton AC units, it's impossible to keep the inside temperature below 78. I was saving this for a power loss in case of a hurricane or bad storm, power outages during the daylight hours can be brutal.Anyway, yesterday was miserable so I set this up around 4 PM, setup was easy. I filled the tank slowly. I was worried at first because I didn't see the minimum fill line indicator changing then realized it holds 5 gallons so I just kept filling it. A word of note, when filling it, some water drops may come out the front... I was worried I was filling it wrong but it wasn't much, good idea to have a towel on the floor when filling... it's really not a lot but wet floors are bad! I had frozen the cooling pack previously. Just a note, the freezing packs are not air tight, if you squeeze them with water in them, the water will come out so freeze them upright.I plugged the unit in near my sofa (with a towel around it in case it leaked - it didn't), turned it on, turned it to cool and high and sat down and played on my tablet. It worked... I mean worked well. I had to turn the speed down because it was actually getting too cold. I am very happy with the device!!Now, I am not saying this will cool your whole house, but a small room or area where you can congregate and stay put, this will work wonders for you.A thought that may help. If you have a spare fridge (one you use just for drinks or whatever) get 5 1-gallon water bottles and keep them cold. You can obviously refill these after. The device runs air through water to cool the air, so if you have cold water I imagine the results will be even better. I have not tried this yet, I used tap water, but if you have cold water when the power goes out (and have a backup power supply) this could really help.

Save your time and money from buying this one, design is flawed
Save your time and money from buying this one.. It's design is flawed in a few major ways.. I describe 2 of them, which is enough. You cant access the honeycomb filter:This alone is major issue. You have no way to clean the filter. With dust and moisture in the air this will be a host of problems by not being able to clean the filter. I see this design is a "throw away" product after the filter is full of dust and bacteria. No access to the generous 5.3-gallon water tank:Main reason why I bought this was for it's capacity. However without direct access to the water tank you cant clean it or fill it rapidly with water (or ice). Again, this will be another bacteria issue as water will always be in the tank. Must fill it through the top and its rather small filling funnel/section of this unit. Not being able to access the tank is a bad design choice. For 5.3 gallons you want to fill half of that space with ice or ice packs (not the top portion of the unit). As just using water will become room temp in a shorter time then this thing can run.The provided ice packs:Are cheaply made, you would be better off buying an alternative or some gel packs. These tiny ice packs wont make much of a impact for cooling alone. What you would want to do is add ice to the water tank. But you cant access it. 5.3 gallons of water lasts along time with this air cooler. However you will be swapping ice packs every hour as they are too small to stay cold/frozen

Perfect for my AZ Climate
Super easy to unpack, put together and get it running. Cools using water and ice packs. It's a portable "swamp cooler" on wheels. Has a sweep feature that sweeps the air side to side. Couldn't be happier with the purchase.
