Fortunately, my trimmer did come with one. They are a bit tricky to figure out the shaft locking, but once you do, you just spin it on. The trimmer line life is the best I've ever seen. I've trimmed my small yard, that has numerous granite granite cobblestone and concrete boarder walls, which usually tear up the line, and I've only had to bump feed twice on each time I did the yard. Bump feed works perfectly. I did need a wide channel lock Pliar to unscrew the old one.
