May be good shoe for people with ingrown toenail issues. *by on Reviewed in the United States July 30, 2026* I have a long history of ingrown toenails, and the Gel-nimbus 27 (with extra room laterally for my big toe) is the best shoe I have found for me. It holds my ankle in place and the extra room for my big toe makes it great for long walks. I wear an 11 1/2 regular for the Gel-Nimbus 27, but the Gel-nimbus 28 has less room for my big toe, and I would have to wear a 11 1/2 wide for that model (less ankle support in wide for Gel-Nimbus 28). The Gel-Nimbus 28 is less bulky.The Gel-Nimbus is generally a great shoe for me because I underpronate (supinate), and this shoe is designed for people like me--but do not assume that all iterations are the same.
