Pretty good for idea generation
I like paging through this magazine and seeing all the things I could possibly create. They have some beautiful patterns, some of which are fairly accessible for a beginner and other that are far more advanced but definitely aspirational.A couple things I would suggest:1. Some of the cast-ons used in the patterns seem unnecessarily complicated, especially for the more beginner-level patterns. I'm not saying don't do them, but suggest alternatives, especially for your easier patterns. Sometimes the pattern will be totally doable, but I've heard (and experienced myself) that sometimes the cast-ons make the start of the project really challenging.2. A tutorial on yarn substitutions would be AMAZING. I still struggle sometimes to determine whether the sportweight I have can be used for certain patterns or substituted for thicker yarns, among other things.

High marks!
I subscribed to this magazine one year ago. Out of the four issues I've received this year, I've knitted at least one project idea from each issue, and three so far from the fall issue alone (!) and each has turned out beautifully.I haven't read any other knitting magazines that appeal to me as consistently as this one. I've noticed that each issue has a careful balance of projects, appealing to both genders and to all levels of knitting expertise. Each issue contains a few "gee-whiz!" type articles in the front with interesting, exotic and sometimes downright weird news about the knitting world (like, who knew that knitting could be considered performance art?).There's usually an exotic "catch-the-eye" or cutting-edge fashion project, followed by other apparel projects that are always beautiful, visually appealing and frequently wearable, too! Although the magazine does occasionally include items that make me shake my head in disbelief, Interweave Knits generally seems to select projects that real humans can wear without looking like freaks. You'll also find a couple of ideas for non-apparel and/or "quick gift"-type projects in each issue, ranging from felted backpacks and novelty purses to baby hats. Now, if all this sounds good, just wait: it gets better. The real clincher for me is that the patterns seem to have been tested and carefully proof-read BEFORE going to press. I've worked 7 projects from IWK this year, and have yet to catch a single mistake in pattern directions! Maybe I've just been lucky so far, but I noticed on the IWK website that the list of errata is amazingly short...so either they don't update errata onto their website, or they really don't allow a lot of mistakes to slip through. In short, I think "Interweave Knits" provides a lot of bang for your subscription bucks. Two thumbs up from me!

This magazine will not work on a PC
While this magazine works on Kindle and some other devices it will not work on microsoft OS pc's. If you try to order a magazine in the Kindle Store look for this "Available immediately on these devices and platforms" and click on it. This magazine shows it is available on many Kindles, I-phone's and pads, and android devices. I canceled my order because I would much rather read it on my big screen computer monitor than on my other devices even though I can get it on some android devices I own. I do not do I-pads!

Favorite knitting magazine
I love the patterns in Interweave Knits, they are always very on-trend and interesting. This is my favorite knitting magazine just to browse through and see all the beautiful pieces, let alone start knitting new projects!

excellent magazine for any knitter!
I don't knit but my girlfriend does, and I love the way her eyes light up every time an issue shows up in the mailbox. She reads through the magazine within a couple of days and then uses the patterns as needed. I have read through different magazines with her and could see how many and how varied the designs were. This magazine is the only one that we renew year after year. I would recommend this to any knitter that enjoys trying new designs or even getting different points of view on old designs.

Disappointing.
This magazine has gone downhill over the years. The industry is changing, which is parti of the reason. However, I am not excited about their content anymore;, the patterns are so-so.

Love this magazine
I just received my first issue. I love this magazine. It's inspiring and I find the articles to be very informative on different knitting techniques, wool information, and more. The only reason I give four stars instead of five is just because the patterns seem to include bigger items such as sweaters. I'd love to see more hat/scarf/mitts patterns, especially since this is a fall issue.
