How to have all outlets always on? I have the timer working but the always on feature isn’t working. I switch to manual and nothing. Is mine defective

there is a switch on the side for that, some settings on the display as well. my device switched to all on when I tried it, but its been on timer mode for months, and holds time through the power outages too, so havent messed with it since initial set up.

does this item come with a longer cord at all? 6-8 ft would be lovely

BN-LINK 8 outlet power strip has a 3.28ft cord. You can use an extension cord with this timer if needed.

is there a battery backup in case of power outage? Or does the unit need to be reset?

the internal battery will keep your clock and programming saved for a few months during a power outage

What does rnd mean and how to change it

RND means it is in Random/Vacation Mode. This means that it will delay or turn off your programs from a 2-32 min range. Press the WEEK and HOUR buttons simultaneously to activate or deactivate the random mode.
