Great product, but do not wait to immediatly pour your casting.
I gave this review a 5 star because it does everything it says it will do. It was easy to use and gave us awesome results! The directions were easy to follow as well. But, there is one thing that is not well addressed, and I wanted others to be aware of this. It has nothing to do with the quality of the product, but more of a suf=ggestion that you will find very helpful. The instructions do not metion how SOON after you complete making the soft rubbery casting and how SOON you must pour in the casting material. Soon (about an 1 1/2 hours ) after you finsh the casting part, the product starts shrinking and water starts coming out into the molded opening. Its very slight at the begining, but after 6 hours your mold will have shrunk by 10%. After about a day, it will be 30%. The instructions do not tell you to go directly to the casting part. Unfortunately, I didn't leave myself enough time to mold and then go right to casting, so I had to buy a whole new kit and start over. That is my fault. BUT, the instructions should have told me to cast almost as soon as you are done with the mold part. I still think this is a great product, just remeber to do the the complete mold/cast in one time period.

Great keepsake!
I would suggest buying the four pack because it does take some getting used to. I tried all four and at least wanted one to work. Two of them didnโt really work at all because my baby was moving around so much and it was setting up really fast but I did end up with two that kind of worked. They are not perfect by any means but I love them.

I did three of these in one night, and have a few tips for ya: 1. The first mix sets REALLY fast. We ended up having to chuck the first cup because it got chunky while we were still mixing. Mix faster than you think you need to, tap it on the counter a few times to disperse bubbles, and get that baby's hand/foot in there quick! 2. Set about a tablespoon of the casting powder aside for later. 3. Once the hand/foot has been taken out, mix the casting powder almost as fast, tap it on the counter a little bit harder, and then pour it slowly and smoothly to avoid bubbles in the cast. 4. Leave it overnight. Five hours was not enough, it was still very damp and fingers broke off very easily. I ended up putting them in a huge bowl of rice for a day (I'm in florida, so maybe we can blame the humidity - I'm not sure) 5. Once its dry, youll have to use the sandpaper to smooth lots of things out - between the fingers, bumps, etc. I also ended up using a few nail files and a dremel. 6. If you have tiny bubbles on the surface, mix the rest of the casting powder and use a tiny brush to fill them. They will still need to be lightly sanded after they dry. 7. If you are doing multiple kids, be really careful that they are put into the first mixture at the same angle and to close to the same amount of depth on the back of their hand/wrist. One kid put their hand in about and inch and a half deeper than the other two, and it took me forever to get it sanded down to the same size (i put them in a shadow box, so i should have throught about that beforehand!) The bottom is what came out, and the top was my end result after the extra work. Bad pictures, but a really awesome gift!!

Good product, didnโt work for our baby
I love this in theory but we werenโt able to make it work with my baby. In order to get the mold right the baby needs to stay still for 3-4 min while the mold sets around their hand or foot. We werenโt able to make that happen. Even with trying while they were asleep, the liquid for the mold would wake him up when we put his hand or foot in it. If your baby will stay still longer then this will work great!! I used some leftover material to play with and made a small mold of my hand and it gets a lot of detail and works properly. Just didnโt work for us for the baby specifically as advertised. I would also say it has clear instructions, is easy to use, and is a good value compared to other products I have seen.

Perfect keepsake
I used this kit to make a keepsake of my sonโs hand and foot, and it turned out better than I expected. The details came out amazing, and itโs something Iโll cherish forever. It took a little patience, but it was completely worth it. I highly recommend this kit to any parent wanting to preserve those tiny little hands and feet before they grow.

Waste of money
Donโt buy this itโs to cold even at 80 degrees Fahrenheit which wakes baby up from sleeping crying and wiggling I purchased the 4 castings and both times I tried failed miserably and left his hand and foot freezing would not recommend.

Awesome
Iโm so glad we decided to make this keepsake while our baby was still tiny. The Luna Bean hand and foot casting kit captured so many little details โ even the tiny wrinkles and fingernails. The instructions were easy to follow overall, and the final result turned out incredibly sentimental and special. The molding material set quickly and picked up detail better than I expected. I also appreciated that there was enough material included to retry if needed, which definitely helped take some of the pressure off when working with a wiggly baby. The finished casts look beautiful displayed in our home and feel like something weโll treasure forever. This would make such a meaningful gift for new parents or baby showers. Definitely worth it for the memories alone.

Really nice keepsake
Worked really well for a keep sake. We did his hands at 6 months. I would recommend doing this while the baby sleeps since when ours was awake it didnt make it nice at all lol also only fill to the top of where their hand or foot was even if there is left over filler. Going left to right: 1 he was awake and moving, 2 his knuckles were touching the bottom but we filled to the top of the cast so this is the best one, 3 was the best one but I poured all the filler in so it has extra on it

Takes Too Long to Set โ Impossible to Use with a Baby
Iโm really disappointed with this hand and foot casting kit. The biggest issue is how long the mold takes to set โ it stays soft for far too long, which is completely impractical when youโre working with a baby. Itโs nearly impossible to keep a babyโs hand or foot still for that amount of time, so the final result ends up distorted and unusable. On top of that, the instructions/video provided are not helpful at all. They donโt prepare you for the actual timing or the challenges involved, especially with infants. Overall, this product doesnโt deliver what it promises and is not suitable for babies despite being marketed that way. I wouldnโt recommend it.

Better than expected
The person we went to for our first for casting wasn't open anymore and everyone else was so far away. My husband decided to do the casting himself and surprisingly it came out pretty good, would definitely buy and try again.

Great
Worked perfectly and nice to have 2 hands and 2 feet if u mess one up. A few bubbles but nothing crazy might have been user error.

Requires patience, great kit
Don't expect excellent results. Don't expect professional results but you'll get the main details. If that's enough for you then this is a great kit that will not cost you a fortune. You can contact the company for extra tips and they have videos online. This is one of the easier kits to use but did have to try a couple of times. Both times, some parts didn't come out despite trying all the tips and some pieces broke off. They can be stuck back on if you keep extra of the powder. Has everything you need in the box and had leftover material. Requires patience, you can only do one at a time.
