Works with Chinese Knockoff 862D+ Soldering/Hot-Air Rework Station. The heating element is not entirely ceramic like the original included with the rework station, but instead is metalic with possibly a ceramic-like core. In any case, it heats up and behaves about as well as the one that came with the unit. I have read that if you need to squeeze out maximum performance, you can replace the heating element with a genuine Hakko element and tips. But for my needs, this is good enough and overnight delivery got me back to soldering within a day.

I gave it a 5 because it is a replacement for older 862D+ stations that were designed to utilize thermocouple temp sensors in their handsets. Some of the newer versions use thermistor variants like the 907F which will not work properly on the older versions of this station. So if you have bought the 907F as a replacement for an 862D+ and it errors out immediately, the 907A will likely work as intended.

Ordered this as a replacement for my yihua solder station. It performs as intended and seems to be better than the original handle provided with the solder station.

Works as described. This is my third one. Do not over heat this soldering pencil, it will fail quickly. I leave mine at 350c and havent had problems yet

This review is biased because I bought it without looking for enough information. This soldering iron doesn't work for the 862D+ more or less generic chinese 2 in 1 soldering iron and head gun. What it does the soldering iron gets over heated too quickly and the tempeture display doesn't display the correct temp. I will try to open it and check if I can wire it to make it work. I will update if I make it work.

Works great, expected to need a few since the iron is not the highest of quality. But for the price, it's better than i expected.

I bought this to replace a failed iron on my Creworks 8586 60W soldering/hot-air gun station. The connector fit the port perfectly. I set the base to its highest temperature setting of 480 degrees C, having the fine tip on the iron. My infrared camera detected a tip T of 245 degrees C. When tested for soldering, I was able to do so on a typical breadboard at this setting. I have not tested with a broad tip yet to see how it performs or what T is attained. The performance is similar to the soldering iron that originally came with my station. So far, I recommend this iron to others with the same unit.

Perfect replacement.

Needed to replace the iron from my original station as it broke. This was made to measure my existing station which meant I didn’t have to purchase a new soldering station. Great way to save money!
