I ordered these Lavazza capsules to try to find an alternative to Nespresso capsules of which I have tried many different types and found lacking in well-balanced flavor and were priced quite high. I spend a great deal of time in Italy and am spoiled by the wonderful coffee served to me in cafes as well as the coffee I prepared in my accomodations. Lavazza is one of the most popular and highly-rated brands sold throughout Italy, so I decided this would be a logical choice. To my delight, it proved to be of high quality at a much more reasonable price. The coffee makes a lovely crema which is usually consistent with a higher quality brew. It is aromatic, well-balanced, and robust without being sour or bitter. I now have a subscription and look forward to my deliveries. I highly recommend this brand to all seeking an alternative Nespresso compatible solution, and hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Very good coffee

Bester tasting espresso; much better than the coffees that were included with my Nespresso Essenza Mini and milk frother. I bought the nespresso because I wanted a "no fuss" cappuccino occasionally, without storing and grinding more beans (still make pour over coffee for the mornings). I was considering returning my machine because the coffee just wasn't that good. I went to look for third party capsules. I have always felt Illy makes the best espresso for a proper machine, but their capsules are prohibitively expensive, so I went with the Lavazza capsules (always a distant 2nd, in my opinion) Thankfully, I was not disappointed! The first brew was fantastic, exactly what I was looking for. Very thick creme, deep taste. I highly recommend these capsules. Concerns people have posted I have not experienced. Sometimes there is little bit of water that comes out at the beginning. But it's a tiny amount and only happens about 50% of the time. It could be a machine issue, not a capsule issue. As for loading the capsules, it's true, they sit in the channel deeper than the Nespresso capsules, and look like they will not go in, but, I have *never* had one fail to load. So don't worry, these capsules do fit! I am looking to purchase their Lungo capsules soon, so look for my review on those!

Great tasting capsules.

I’ve been looking for a more affordable alternative to the Nespresso branded capsules over the last year, and it took several brands before I found Lavazza. Every other third party capsule I tried from Amazon had this stale, off odor and taste. Honestly they were some of the worst coffees I’ve had and a far cry from the first-party capsules. Lavazza is the first brand that has been comparable in taste to Nespresso. Armonico is my favorite and compares well to my favorite Nespresso blend, Arpeggio. I thought Decisio was a bit too bitter for my taste and Avvologente a bit too tame with less flavor than I like. In summary I’m very happy to have found these. I can’t say they completely equal the flavor of the Nespresso branded capsules, but they are very close, and therefore I feel a good value.

The first time I tried one, nothing but clear water came out. The machine wasn't able to make the perforations in the foil coverings. I tried it again and it worked. This has happened twice in 20 pods. The other problem I very frequently have is that the pod does not drop out into the bin once finished. I have to slide open the cover and poke it out with a butter knife. Café La Llave pods work fine as does the Archer Farms pods I bought at Target. Lavazza pods are the only ones I have a problem with. The coffee they make is good but they are a major inconvenience. I have to slide the machine to the edge of the counter so I can look inside and clear the pod. Lavazza pods are the only ones that have the foil on the small end wrapped around on the outside. I believe this is what is causing the problem. After reading others complain of inconsistently filled pods, I opened two boxes and weighed each pod. All 20 weighed in the range of 6.0 to 6.2 grams. So there is no significant inconsistency with the amount of grounds in the pods. People are getting inconsistent coffee extraction not because of inconsistency with the grounds, but I believe it is actually the poor fit of the pods in the machine preventing the machine from being able to extract the coffee in a consistent manner.

Absolute perfection! Smooth, bold and a palate full of joy. These pods are perfect for the original Nespresso machine.

I bought quite a lot of boxes and found that the expiry date was just a few months away. I like Lavazza but supplier should be more transparent about the product it’s selling.

These are perfect for someone looking for that espresso taste to cut through the milk in a latte. Nice balance, well roasted, with that little bit extra bitterness to cut through milk based drinks.

I love the flavour of these. Better than the Nespresso brand. I only gave them 4 stars for ease of recycling.

These fit very well in my Nespresso machine. Very good coffee, but this particular variety is a bit stronger tasting than my preference. I will try a lower level strength for my next purchase of Lavazzo. Very happy with the product.
