Loulou de la Falaise Hardcover – Illustrated, October 14, 2014

Filled with photographs I have not seen, this book is sure to please anyone who was interested in this fascinating and talented woman. Featuring pictures of her throughout the years, family, friends, YSL, her jewelry designs, and even architecture photos, this is a very well rounded photographic journey which a great deal of work went into. I have not read all the text (Quotes and bio), but my initial impression is a good one. My only complaint is some of the layout of the photos on some pages seem rather uninspired... but I gave this 5 stars because of the content and quality of the photos.I just reread "The Beautiful Fall: Fashion, Genius, and Glorious Excess in 1970s Paris " so it was fun seeing Loulou in her own book : )

Wonderful book! This book brings me back to the time when fashion was really fun and exciting. The photography is beautiful of Loulou and her individuality. The book sits on my desk so I can flip through it slowly and study it, I love it.

Before purchasing this book, I had very limited knowledge or background in Ms. de la Falaise. This book does not disappoint as it invites you into a the mind of a creative genius whose daring use of color, fabrics, jewelry, and overall creative expression was very welcomed by a wide range of socialites, rock stars, magazines, fashion lines spanning several continents. A great idea for a gift/coffee table.

An interesting book , giving a peek into the creative artist energy that was alive between YSL and LouLou. She was avante guard and entirely unique in every appoach. She had artistic talent that will affect the way we dress for decades.

Interesting period and time period with the whole YSL connection. Great photography.

I was very impressed with the quality of this book and the beautiful photos. She was a truly unique personality and a joyful spirit giving laughter and goodness to all those who knew her. I would not have purchased the book, however, if I had known how huge it was: definitely a Coffee Table Book and not one to reach for late at night to read for an hour or so. Like trying to read a billboard. Very combersome, though beautifully done.

Facinating

This is a breathtakingly beautiful book about one of the greatest fashion icons and innovators of all time. It is a fitting tribute to Loulou, muse of Yves Saint Laurent and co-creator, jewelry designer, and a woman of exquisite taste.

This is a wonderful wonderful book and will feature in my top five books on fashion.Loulou de la Falaise, muse and collaborator to Yves Saint Laurent, was full of joie de vivre and had an inate style that came not only of the clothes and accessories that she wore so well, but was evident in her every gesture. The photographs throughout each stage of her life are an unending delight, and to someone who loves fashion, style, and beauty, they are a revelation. Seeing them, one inevitably compares her to the so-called style icons of our Instagram age, and finds our own celebrities insipid and unimaginative.The jewellery and accessories that she designed were magnificent yet effortless, giving off an air of insouciance that is a fundamental quality of her art and her genius.The book is well laid out, and feature her own words as well as those of her contemporaries, providing a window into a charmed and elegant world. You could do worse than to buy this book for yourself and to give it to all your friends.

great price.. beautifully told biography amid amazing photographs..my wife was not disappointed..she could not let it down !Excellent coffee table book !!!
