Rediscovering My Music ā An Astonishing Upgrade!
I paired the Audiocular D14 DAC with the KZ Castor Pro IEM(Bass boosted), and Iām honestly stunned by how much detail Iād been missing all these years. The setup connected instantly to my iPhone 16 Pro and began delivering pure, hi-res audio within seconds. The Castor Pro, tuned with switches 1 & 2 ON, produces powerful yet tight bassāfar deeper and more natural than the AirPods Pro 2. Vocals sound real and intimate, highs are crystal-clear, and I can finally sense air and space around instruments. The D14 punches way above its price: a tiny, plug-and-play dongle that handles 32-bit/384 kHz lossless audio effortlessly. Together, they make even familiar tracks feel newly alive. Bluetooth now sounds compressed and flat by comparison. This simple, affordable combo is a gateway into true lossless sound and once you hear it, thereās no going back.

Great
I am gaming doing multimedia stuff for over 11 years now and I would consider myself an audiophile. I literally gave them a hard competition against one of the best headphones : Audio technica M50x and hyperx cloud 2 (kingston one). And they survived the competition easily. I did nit expected at all. I use flat frequency headphones a lot specifically Audio technica m50x for music production. Since they are best in its kind I use to game as well(well better than quote on quote gaming headsets). Bought in 2017 still going on like day one. Bought the iems to check how much a 2400 iem can offer(I forgot the exact price I bought) bought more things too. IEM is an old tech. It is also very expensive so to try out, I got these cheap once. But the level of clarity, noise separation and audio queues it provides is completely on point.Saying them cheap would be an insult. I donāt know how KZ made these in such low prices. It is really affordable and worth it hand down. They did it. Reason I went with these because they are the only one offering onboard equaliser with dual 10MM driver. Onboard equaliser is a win win already. Any flat frequency headphones will do the same but headphones do feel bulky overtime. At one point of time I even forgot I had these on .Sound isolation is very good at least if plugged in pc. You can barely hear anything from outside at 40-45 percent and beyond is just stupidly loud but donāt distort the audio I boughthese specifically for the flat frequency (I have hyperx cloud 2 and needed some change , also audio on those headphones feels dummied idk artificially boosted frequencies. I was getting bored. I forgot how much fun it is hearing everything on m50x . These iems do not feel cheap. Comes with custom small levers to change frequencies if you like. I tried these iems solo, with realtek audio drivers.Just PC drivers, That also offers great experience , but it limits power. . I connected DAC of audiocular, sound almost doubled (because dac is just a small device like amps they've built in audio card. They boost the frequency. Buy a 348 bit dac from audiocular. It will blow your mind. I tried them in many scenarios going back and forth on different amps and dacs. Amps/dacs boost the sound to almost double so what you hear on 90 percent without dac, its like 40 percent with amps. I tried with Focusrite amp,I had it. Dont buy fora 2k earphone please it illogical ,It is solo around 11k no flex but It was unimaginable , I just blasted the earphones It was so loud that at 16 percent I was having a blast in warzone with conplete isolation. The clarity and the head room these earphones have is absolute amazing. Audio queue is better than M50x because they are in ear. You can hear everything going on. People say wire is a bit bad, yea it isš¤£, microphone is horrid. Very bad as what all other options I have. Iāll definitely buy a but longer cable with good mic. Although pretty comfortable, doesnāt just slips. Well seated. Went with dac at last , dont wanna go deaf. Ps: If using on pc. This might give you reverse audio(left from right and right will sound from left, if enemy comes from left, it would wound coming from right. Easy fix with APO equalizer. Just had to reverse the lines and perfect. I have not tried them yet extensively but this can be a built to last. If durability will be on par. This is a god tier steal at this price . You will probably be able to hear everything in game. Left right, top right , It has that omnidirectional effect. Perfect. If you are using Iems for the first time. You will never ever thing of going back to basic headphones I guarantee.

āāāāā A Gateway to True Audiophile Experience ā KZ Castor Pro (Improved Bass, Non-Mic)
When you step into the wonderful world of audiophilia, music starts to sound completely different ā like going from a blurry vision to seeing in 8K clarity. The KZ Castor Pro (Improved Bass) truly opens that world for you. To unlock its full potential, youāll need a good DAC (Digital-to-Analog Converter) and a hi-res audio streaming service such as Apple Music, Tidal, or Deezer. Once you do, the difference is jaw-dropping ā every instrument, beat, and vocal detail comes alive. I bought the non-mic version, but since I also have the regular KZ Castor (non-Pro), I can confirm that the cable design is the same ā and the mic on that cable is impressively clear. š Connectivity: Uses a 3.5 mm wired connection, ensuring stable and lossless audio. The stock wire feels a bit cheap, but you can easily buy replacement cables if it wears out or if you want to upgrade to a better one. āļø Functionality: These IEMs are easy to drive ā they work well even with smartphones or laptops, but sound noticeably better when used with a DAC or audio interface. The physical EQ switches give you freedom to fine-tune the sound signature ā bass-heavy, balanced, or bright ā as per your taste. What you can expect from the Castor Pro: š§ Spacious and detailed soundstage š„ Perfectly tuned bass ā deep, tight, and punchy šļø Customizable sound via physical EQ switches š Used it for around 15 days, and Iām absolutely happy upgrading from my KZ Castor Harman Target version to this Improved Bass version. In my opinion, this might just be the best IEM under ā¹2,000 for those who want to experience hi-res sound without spending a fortune. Feel free to ask me anything ā Iāll be glad to help fellow music lovers here! š¶

Sound quality bad.
No bass, sounds sharp and cheap. If you are autistic or hypersensitive or an audiophile, don't buy. Looks very nice and I loved the over ear loop option in the wired setup.

Value for money
The KZ Castor Pro is a good and value-for-money IEM with clear sound, punchy bass, and multiple tuning options. Build quality is decent and the fit is comfortable for most users. However, the cable feels basic, the tuning switches can be confusing for beginners, and the sound is not perfect in every mode. Overall, it's a nice product, but the experience is not completely perfect.

š§ KZ Castor Pro Review (Compared with Oppo Enco Air 3 Pro or IEM vs TWS)
š§ KZ Castor Pro Review (Compared with Oppo Enco Air 3 Pro) I had been using the Oppo Enco Air 3 Pro since February 2024 and absolutely loved their sound. Unfortunately, I lost them a couple of months ago. Since theyāre currently unavailable in India and the Oppo Enco Air 4 Pro are still far from release in India, I started looking for alternatives ā thatās when I came across the KZ Castor Pro. Honestly, I doubted that any IEM under ā¹2,000 could come close to the Enco Air 3 Pro, which costs more than double. Still, curiosity won, and I ordered them. Out of the box, they didnāt sound very open or spacious ā just like any regular earphone at this price when tested on my laptop. So, I decided to pair them with a DAC (Audiocular Spark), used Wavelet with DDUU DDUU tuning switches and a U-shaped EQ, set Dolby Atmos to Movie mode, and enabled Hi-Res Lossless on Apple Music. Thatās when the magic happened. The soundstage opened up, the instruments came alive, and suddenly they started outperforming my Oppo Enco Air 3 Pro. The highs are detailed and sparkly yet smooth ā never harsh, sibilant, or shouty. They carry just the right amount of brilliance, giving instruments that lively shimmer without fatigue. The mids are pristine, especially the guitar strumming ā it sounds crisp and clean. Vocals have an airy, reverberant character that makes them feel spacious and natural. Instrument separation is excellent ā you can easily identify sounds coming from different directions and depths. The bass is tight, punchy, and rich, with good sub-bass rumble and satisfying kickdrums. However, despite being labeled the āImproved Bassā version, the Castor Pro isnāt for bassheads. If you prefer that boomy, club-style bass found in TWS from brands like OnePlus or Realme, this might feel a bit restrained. The bass here focuses more on detail than quantity. The soundstage is similar in width to the Enco Air 3 Pro ā moderately wide but with slightly more airiness and openness. Imaging is excellent too; you can easily pinpoint footsteps while gaming. The mic quality performs very well indoors, better than most TWS under ā¹5,000. It lacks noise reduction, though, so outdoor performance may not be ideal. Iām giving them ā 4 out of 5 stars, mainly because of the cable quality, which feels cheap (though it gets the job done), and the included eartips didnāt fit my ears properly. Iām currently using Sennheiser CX TWS eartips, which improved both fit and sound. Overall, if youāre looking for a replacement for the Oppo Enco Air 3 Pro, the KZ Castor Pro delivers even better sound quality at a lower price, especially when paired with a DAC and proper tuning.
