Slides everywhere
Came rolled up spent an hour with a hair dryer flattening. Biggest problem is that it slides all over my carpet when I roll my chair on it. And when the mat moves it pushes up against objects and curls the edges of the mat causing it to slide even more. Very annoying. I have low pile carpet and the mat still slides. It does have spikes under it but they seem to be too short and too small to do their job. The whole point is to use the mat to prevent carpet damage from a rolling chair. However because the mat slides, sometimes I run out of mat and the legs of my chair are then rolling on the carpet. So I have to pull the mat back into place. Maybe make the spikes bigger and longer? Supply some kind of plastic/carpet tape with it? Any solutions to this mat sliding? If I can't find a solution to the mat sliding around a return will have to do.UPDATE:I ended up trying a very similar size mat from Staples. It was hanging on a rack at the store instead of rolled up like it came from Floortex so it took little to no effort to lay it down flat. It also came with convenient handles and hanger loops. The mat from Staples has flat spikes that point in different directions creating more resistance to sliding on carpet. I can also tell the material is more flexible and it "hugs" the rug rather then "floats" like the Floortex mat does which secures the Staples mat a lot better to the carpet. I have tested both mats and the one from Staples wins hands down mainly because the Staples mat stays in place for almost a week before I have to adjust it. And when I do need to adjust it I have convenient handles to help me do so. The mat from Floortex, I had to re-position it almost every day and you could tell the mat is too stiff and where you stepped or rolled my chair the whole mat would take off with it. I will be returning the Floortex mat.

Sturdy, well made, hard to get flat and takes a lot of effort to flatten!
Bought two of the larger 48x60 low pile mats. Overall they are pretty good, work well for protecting the carpet and are decently thick. My biggest issue is that getting it flat is a battle. When the two large boxes arrive I was happy, thinking they had not been rolled tight they would be easy to flatten out. How wrong I was. Both mats, each in their own box, were folded like a W with the ends curled back. This meant that getting the mat rolled out was a fight. It took two people to just get it flattened out enough for one person to lay on the mat. Then it took stacks and stacks of books to weight just one down. We ran out of books, could not even try to flatten the other one. Three days we kept it rolled out weighted by books. In the end it left us with a hilly/ lumpy mat that rolling a chair across was a battle. To get the mat flat we had to put it between the mattresses for another three days. Even now the mat is still a bit uneven and is not level on the floor. It's better, but it's been five days and I doubt it will get better. We are just now two days into trying to flatten the second one. This is going to take some time. I will try to update this after a couple of weeks of use to see if it gets better.

but the carpets were pretty flat or vinyl tiled and the mats didnt divot ...
Ive had this mat for four years of daily work from home use. I have a low pile carpet and it did initially take time to flatten, but once it did it never had a problem with it rolling up on me. It is a bit thin where my chair will make divots in the mat but I cant image any plastic mat holding out. Thus mat has spikes on the bottom (I looked for this specifically) for carpets so I cant image they would work on hardwood floorsThe mat has finally cracked, but after four years, Im not too bothered. When I used to have an office, they would replace these ever few years, but the carpets were pretty flat or vinyl tiled and the mats didnt divot so much. Not sure if thicker mats would divot less or last longer, but these seem to last pretty well.Id have given this 3 1/2 stars but the fact that these are 2/3 the price of stores and seemed to last a while made the decision to move the rating up to 4 Id it didnt divot at all, it be 5 stars.

Delivered rolled up - never flattened
This was delivered rolled up in a box. I followed the recommendations and left it in front of a space heater for several days to soften it to allow it to flatten. It never really flattened, even after four days in front of the heater. Next I placed it in my work area. It is on a low pile carpet and has the spikes on the bottom. Even after a few weeks and me rolling on it in my chair, it is still not flat. I'm not sure if it is because of this or because the spikes are not long enough, but the mat travels constantly. I have to remove my chair and move it back in place about three times a night. It is completely frustrating. It seems to be well made and it has helped with the static electricity coming off my sewing and embroidery machines. I am rating it a three out of five because of the way that it is packaged and delivered to you. If I had received it flat, I probably would not be having so many issues now. I will probably return it.

Relieved...
After reading reviews of how these mats never get flat, etc. When I pulled it out of the box, it looked like a huge scroll. My response was "O no!" So I went out on my apartment patio and put some heavy things on it for several hours. It has a couple lumps and bumps, but it seems like I can fix them easily just by setting something on them for awhile. I had to dock one star because it has taken so long to get a couple of the corners flat. I'm thinking though, if I were more diligent about putting something heavy on those spots, maybe it would fix it...dunno."------Update------Ok, so I added a star, and here's why. I found an easier way to flatten the thing out. Anyone buying one, before you take it out of the box...open the box, plug in a hairdryer. Put the hairdryer in the top of the box...and let the whole entire thing heat up...inside the box. *****FOR YOUR SAFETY***** STAY WITH THE HAIRDRYER AND BOX!!!!! When the plastic is good and warm, pull it out, lay it flat. Smooth it out good, and if the whole thing won't flatten, put heavy things on the corners and pull it taut. Leave it until it's cool...DO NOT USE IT UNTIL IT'S COMPLETELY COOLED! And that should do the trick.

excellent mat for carpets
excellent for carpets, movement with office chair is easy and the last one held 2 years of intense home office ..

Se mueve / It moves

I have a low pile carpet so I thought mat would be perfect however. It's not as solid as I would like it to be, the material is a pretty malleable so if there is any sort of give on your flooring the Cleartex Advantagemat Chair Mat for Carpets 1/4" or Less, Clear PVC, Rectangular, Size 48" x 60" (FR1115225EV) will not stay completely flat and will dimple under any weight above 60 pounds. If you plan on sitting for any extended period of time the mat will definitely dimple, but so far mine hasn't cracked or broken yet so it's a minor inconvenience to deal with so far. Amazing product/order/delivery
Although I had to return it because it was too big, the item is of top notch quality. Being a Prime member afforded me to buy such a high quality product otherwise I would have had to purchase a much cheaper version.

Clear, but an inch shorter than advertised
Only measures 47.5" x 58.75". Love the little nubs that keep it from sliding on the carpet. It's pretty clear too. It works for what I need.
