The Serola Belt has been a real Godsend for me!
I have suffered over 4 hrs with excruciating nerve pain, burning, and spasms (lower lumbar spine, just below ribs, pelvic & groin region, hips, and thighs front & back to knees) due to a kind of dysplasia with both left and right SI Joints which has largely restricted activity (bending, twisting, squatting, lounge standing & walking, sleeping--everything!) I have been through multiple regimes of drugs, injections, physical therapy, massage, heat, Theracane, TENS Unit, support pillows, adjustable mattress, compression products, etc etc. and am currently wrestling with my insurance to cover SI-Bone joint surgery. Though I was once very active, the condition kept me most of the time on my back, which affects my happiness and potentially could affect my overall health. While researching online in mid' November 2016, I found the Serola belt, which has since been a real Godsend for me (I wish it had been recommended to me earlier by my pain management specialist or physical therapist, since another physical therapist told me the belt is widely used and recommended by many). No, it does not eliminate ALL the pain, however it noticeably improves overall relief and keeps my pain to a lower level. I wear mine 24-7 and have had to train myself with it at night to life on back with pelvis straight and legs flat. The belt adds the necessary support when ordered in proper size by chart, and worn in the right place according to instructions online & in booklet found in packaging (bottom of belt should be where front Jean pockets begin). It took nearly a month to adjust to properly to wearing it (correct placement & tightness) and deriving it's benefits, partly because I did not 1st initially read all instructions enclosed in packaging, and largely due to the extreme Inflammation I had up to the purchase of the belt. Time and patience was needed to learn and to allow the inflammation to gradually go down as I faithfully kept the belt on. Since, I have been able to stand and walk for longer periods and reduce a lot of my meds. The belt is a darker color worn low, and it is comfortable, very sturdy, and has very strong velcro that will not come loose. The straps on both sides can be pulled and secured to just the right hold needed to restrict movement of the SI Joints, while not restricting me from normal overall physical movement. I have gone to pulling mine very snugly and only take it off for showering to use the bathroom. In bed, wearing the belt and using a firm half-round bolster under my knees has helped immensely. I was surprised to realize the amount of pain, discomfort and overall tension that had been accumulating as I had just normalized and coped with it--even while drastically curtailing or drastically reducing my day to day activity. The Solera belt has allows me to stand and work in kitchen longer, drive and sleep more comfortably, and walk for longer distances at the store. Because I have been able to lessen the drugs I take and sleep a little better, I feel sharper, happier, and more relaxed. The money is worth it and the belt, when introduced along with the other measures I was taking, has helped a lot. I would highly recommend it. One more note: upon visiting another physical therapist, I was met with professionals who were very familiar with the belt and have been using it for their patients for a long time. She was also happy to visually evaluate me to ensure belt placement was correct. I have told my doctor and massage therapists, as well as a few people I've met with same issues.

Best belt for your pain!!!
This belt saved me I got a job working as a 8-hour shift on my feet at a register and when I get home or just driving home my SI joint would hurt so bad I wanted to pull over and scream I bought other belts before they worked somewhat but this one works the best and it stays in place and it's narrow where it ain't bulky I can wear it under my jeans or skirt or whatever I'm wearing without even realizing it's on and it really helps with the pain I'm tired of taking pain medicine I don't want any more injections cuz they don't last if anybody suffers from SI joint pain please get this belt it costs a little more but it's worth it!!!!

The Most Helpful Product Iโve TRIED In YEARS
This product is, indeed, accurately rated. As someone who has been suffering from an SI joint injury that I could not heal due to constant overextending of the joints, this thing finally helped me hold the joint in place with minimal muscle discomfort which allows healing to finally occur. I am immediately relieved of my loose feeling SI joint pain. It took an adjustment period to figure out where to place it, as I have a pretty severe anterior pelvic tilt. Once I figured out placement, putting it on became faster and easier. I mess around with the support level through the day, but Iโm finding that I still need a firm support. Maybe eventually Iโll loosen it, but while Iโm recovering the tight tension feels best. Some people in the reviews say they can wear it at night, but Iโve found that I canโt. It is too uncomfortable for me to try to sleep in, personally, so I opt to restrict my movement at night instead to prevent further exacerbation of the injury while Iโm asleep. It has worked so far and every morning I wake up with a little less pain. I can see myself wanting to buy a replacement if something ever happened to this one, guaranteed. So I think that meansโฆ buy it.

Very good support
I bought this in Large. My hips, measured right above the grand trochanter (so that includes part of my butt) are 40". The size is good as it's very easy to adjust. I injured my sacrum and the surrounding region 3 years ago (kickboxing gone bad) and only recently did an osteopath find out the issue - my sacrum was out of wack. He popped it back into place, and realigned my hips (they do tend to move out of alignment, and for 3 years, that's all chiros have been able to see and correct, never correcting or even looking at my sacrum). Anyway, now my iliolumbar ligament is strained - 3 years of not healing, resulting in semi-permanent damage and scar tissue) and some muscles are also pulling the wrong way. It'll take some time and TLC before it all goes back to normal. I'm using this belt to help avoiding wrong movements (torsions) that still make my sacrum pop, and allo the ligament to heal, now that the bone isn't pulling on it the wrong way anymore. I've been wearing it for a couple of weeks now, from a couple of hours to the whole day, even at night, and I can tell it works. My back isn't as tender as it normally is after a day at work (I tend to sit all twisted, and/or sit on my legs), and I turning around at night doesn't hurt anymore. I have no pain to immediately alleviate, so I can't vouch for its efficiency on that, but it works for what I need it to do - protect my back while it's healing. The belt is also surprisingly comfortable. Wear it low, just above the great trochanter protuberance - yes that means it goes across of your butt. Lower than your pants belt line. It does not move (and I have a pretty generous behind so I was fully expecting it to). I try to wear it above my clothes, but I did have to wear it under my work pants a couple of times, no problems (a bit less comfy though. It's thin enough, even for women's dress pants. The back straps allow you to fine-tune how tight you want it, and you can even tighten it more on one side if it helps.

Would buy again--nice fit & pain reduction fast
Product is well made, arrived fast & once on pain reduction was instantly felt. I like that it is not too wide for my build as one i had before would dig in some when sitting. I wore it at night the first few days which helped me sleep better and seemed to help with overall pain reduction. now i wear it less often yet still wear daily. This has been an intermittent issue for me for years. This belt is a handy solution to have on hand to aid in recovery.

It does the job and that is what matters.
I am someone who was in a spot of really considering si joint fusion with constant and very disruptive pain for years. I have had injections which help for a bit but do not assist with the underlying long term problem. Right now, this belt is a life saver since I can put it on under my clothes and do some walking and daily chores. I canโt speak to the long term quality but right now, itโs making a big difference in pain level and providing the ability for me to be somewhat mobile. I canโt ask for more .

Helps with SI pain
I've been using this belt 24/7 (other than nightly showers) for the past few days, and while I'm not sure it's worth $60, it's definitely helping my SI pain. I'm wearing it under my underwear so that I can use the restroom without having to take it on and off, as I don't always have the luxury of time to wait to remove another layer due to some other medical issues. It's not the easiest to put on, and it takes a lot of fiddling to get it to where some part of it isn't poking or scratching me. It's not soft. It's also definitely a visible bulge under clothing. It also requires readjusting if I'm going to be sitting vs standing vs laying down. That said, it does have a flatter profile than the other one I was using for a while, which was definitely not wearable under clothing for various reasons, even though that other one is a lot easier to put on. In any case, I'm able to sleep through the night without pain and no pain upon waking, which is a big relief, and much less pain throughout the day as well. I wish it were machine washable. That's a huge detriment for a disabled person. I haven't yet worn it in any scenario where I'll be sweating, and given the limitation on washing it, not sure if I will. But that sucks because usually if I'm sweating it means I'm doing an activity where I'd need the assistance of this belt. I also haven't had it long enough to speak to durability, so I'll update this review if anything noteworthy happens. tl;dr: 5 stars for pain relief, 3 stars for comfort and ease, 4 stars for ability to wear under clothing, 1 star for washability, 1 star for price. That's an average of 2.8 stars, rounded up to 3.

Best Made Belt, Immediate Relief, Improves Hip Strength (get the NEW version)
After trying a few, this is the most comfortable, best made, and least ugly belt of the bunch. It is absolutely enabling me to recover and strengthen. Made by a chiropractor who has iterated on the design for a couple decades. This belt is more flexible that the standard disposable white belts,, works in water and during workouts. I play competitive squash and wear it under my skirt. I wear it outside of clothes or inside...it works either way for me. HOW TO WEAR: Short video on how to place the belt. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIdOLp5ByWU Initially I was wearing it a bit too high. You bend your knee up and the belt should sit level with the start of your thigh. INSTANT RELIEF: I have spinal stenosis, unstable pelvis, and pain radiating down my leg. The pain kept me from walking. This belt immediately made activity possible again. Working with chiro and spine docs, I'll be wearing it 3 weeks, and then I might just wear it during really tough match play. RESEARCH - STABALIZES JOINT SO YOU CAN IMPROVE HIP STRENGTH: A Si belt is different from belts that take over muscle duty- it supports the hips like an external ligament so the joint stabalizes and the muscles can work better. That means more movement and rehab! Video on the theory of the belt: Serola Belt Benefits https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1Jk8YzGEpM ----------------------------------------- Here is some research by Precision Biomechanics detailing how the belt helps improve strength. (google Case Study: Sacral Belt Improves Hip Stability during Running) http://www.precisionbiomechanics.com.au/#!Case-Study-Sacral-Belt-Improves-Hip-Stability-during-Running/c18si/879ACB32-62FA-430D-9E2E-B92875E0C258 The spine is connected to the pelvis via the sacroiliac joints. Any loads transferred from the lower limbs to the spine must pass through these joints therefore joint dysfunction can cause significant pain especially during dynamic activities such as running. Despite their frequent use, very little scientific evidence exists documenting the effectiveness of sacral belts during running. Studies have confirmed their ability to reduce load in the sacroiliac joint tendons and ligaments (Sichting et al. 2014), and to engage hip stabilising muscles during supine leg raise activities (Park et al. 2010), but to our knowledge no study has assessed their effect on running kinematics. Here at Precision Biomechanics we provide perhaps some of the first quantitative evidence for the efficacy of sacral belts at improving hip stability during running. An athlete experiencing feelings of subjective pelvic instability whilst running recently visited Precision Biomechanics. Below is a series of graphs illustrating her hip function whilst running both with and without a sacral belt. When running without the belt (left graphs) large asymmetries were observed in her peak hip collapse and peak pelvis drop, with motion increased and decreased on her right and left sides respectively compared to our database of runners. When wearing the belt (right graphs) significant improvements were observed; peak hip collapse and peak pelvis drop on the left and right sides became symmetrical. Given where the belt sits around the pelvis, it is unlikely that the belt โholdsโ the runners hips in place or takes over the role of the hip stabilising muscles. Instead, it is more likely that the belt provides proprioceptive feedback prompting the runner to switch on her stabilising muscles. The belt may therefore be a very useful training tool for improving hip strength.

Wow lower back and hip pain greatly improved
I was a little sceptical that this belt would work but on someone else's advice I got it. I have rheumatoid and osteo arthritis, both knees have already been replaced and will need hips done too this belt enables me to work all day with 70% less pain. It takes a bit to get it in the right spot but once you do WOW

Best low back pain assistive device
This belt is an incredible invention! People with lower back pain should definitely give this a try before resorting to things like chiropractic care and taking all sorts of prescription medications. Make sure you watch videos to learn how to properly wear this and in the proper spots, if you do you will feel the difference. The second I put this thing on, my back pain was virtually gone and my entire posture and body feels so much better. I cannot say enough good things about this belt!
