Just a tad bit shorter than the Onan brand - also get a 65mm X 14 oil filter wrench cup
Just a tad bit shorter than the Onan brand. Fits fine. Had to get a different filter tool to remove/install it as almost nothing hangs down on the generator to get a grip on it. The tool is a 65mm X 14 oil filter wrench cup. Works like a charm. Used the filter for a few oil changes and appears to work just fine.

Generator Filter works well
Second time ordering. First time (last year) got the Fleet Guard filter. This time got the Onan branded one. Same filter. Both worked as expected.

Right filter! Right price!
Brand new OEM filter for my Onan 5500 gas generator underneath my 30 ft. Gas class A RV. Easy to install. Fast shipping to my door. Don’t have to go looking for it! Good price and it’s made specifically for my generator. Highly recommended!

It's worth buying the Onan beause it is size that matters
This is the filter for my Onan 5500 generator. What can I say....it's a stock oil filter. But the Onan OEM filter is about 1/2 in longer than the NAPA replacement I used last year. And that 1/2 inch makes a big difference when it comes to removal because the generator has an air seal gasket that fits around the filter very near the bottom of the oil filter. The Onan filter is long enough that the filter sticks out below the air seal gasket to allow removal of the filter without putting too much pressure on the air seal gasket. The air seal gasket is getting less flexible with age. I am a fan of NAPA filters, but the NAPA filter forces you to temporarily distort the air seal gasket to get a wrench on the bottom of the oil filter. I'll pay a few $ more for the Onan. And Amazon delivered to my door.... where the local Onan parts place is hit or miss with it's stock.

Great If You Can Find Wrench That Fits
Original equipment, perfect fit on the engine. Here's my issue: I have had a hard time finding a filter wrench that fits both the filter and works in the tight confines of the recessed filter. One wrench purchased from local auto parts store jammed on the filter and could not be removed when the filter was in place. I can find no information on the package as to what size wrench would fit. Onan web-site offers no wrench or info. I took a chance and ordered a wrench on-line that is supposed to fit (65mm, 14 flukes), but delivery time from Amazon is 3 1/2 weeks!

Works as expected
Fit as expected. My filter was actually an Oman filter.

Fleetguard Filter in Onan Box
Advertised as Onan 122-0836 but received Fleetguard LF16165. It is at least 1/2" shorter and won't thread more than a turn. Same thing happened last year with a NAPA interchange. Bought these (3) to keep as spares last August after that debacle. I learned my lesson, except they are NOT Onan. Onan spins on freely. Fleetguard does not. Threads have to be different, only explanation. I'll figure it out, it in the meantime: buyer beware. Update: Grabbed a 3/4-16 tap at work and ran it in and out of the Onan filter cleanly. No problem. Had trouble getting the tap started in the Fleetguard filter and once started used a wrench to rotate tap. Tap actually cut threads and made chips. Problem is any chips not cleaned out will flow into engine. That's a potential problem. One shouldn't have to cut threads in a bad filter. Spin-on filters should simply and easily spin on until the rubber gasket mates with housing surface. Seems to me there is a huge batch of faulty filters out in the market. Same problem last year, different brand.
