If your forearms are the weak link in your training, this is where you start
If you already know what a wrist curl bar is and just want to know if this specific bar is worth buying, short answer is yes. Olympic plates fit perfectly with zero wobble, the knurling gives you a solid grip, and the lever collar that comes with it holds everything in place. The collar is a little stiff when you first get it but loosens up within a few weeks. Solid construction, nothing flimsy about it. I weighed the whole thing and it comes in just over 1.5 lbs before plates. I keep mine in my home office so I can get reps in throughout the day without making a trip to the gym. At this price and with this quality it's an incredible value. Moving on. For anyone still on the fence about whether forearm training is even worth your time, here is my take. Grip strength is often the thing that gives out first on pulling exercises, long before your back or biceps are anywhere close to done. If you have ever felt your grip failing on a deadlift or a row while the muscle you're trying to work still has gas left, that's your forearm and grip holding you back. Fix that and everything else gets better. What I like about this over just grabbing a dumbbell for wrist curls is the range of motion you get. You can do standard curls, reverse curls, and full supination and pronation work where you rotate through a complete range. That rotational stuff is hard to replicate any other way and you will feel muscles firing that you did not even know were there. If your hands get sweaty during longer sets some chalk or lifting tape on the handle helps. IMO frequency matters more than anything else with forearm work. A few sets spread through the day beats one long session a week, which is another reason having one at your desk just makes sense. It's easy to pick up and use anytime, even if it's just for 5 minutes between calls. I've only had this a few weeks and I feel my forearms are already noticeably stronger and more developed. My grip on other exercises feels better too. Most convincingly, I had to loosen my watch band a notch. Might be the increased training volume in general but I do not think it's a coincidence. This thing is effective.

A suitable alternative to an advertised $40+ on social media
Been trying to develop more my right forearm strength as a form of therapy ever since I suffered a serious traffic accident as a kid many years back. Found one online that was going for too high of a price given its function and then came across this product at a much more palatable price. Thankfully it works well and I'm able to train with 2" weight discs at my local gym. Although I'd recommend trying to get 2.5 lbs weight discs to go with it since most gyms are minimum 5 lbs ones. And the jump between 5 lbs and 10 lbs discs is large when taking it slow. Doing radial and ulnar flexions with it so far and it's good. The pressure clip however is a little weak. If you put the weight down, even with a 5 lbs disc, it'll slip a bit and it'll wobble as a result when doing the exercise. So lay it on its side would be preferable or replace it with a much stronger clip.

Excellent product! Helped tremendously in my forearm growth.
Gives you the ability to exercise different parts of your forearm. It comes with a diagram of six different movements to exercise the forearm. 2-3 of which can be done with a dumbbell but are much more effective with this device.

Questionable QA that probably won't matter in the least
Basically what you see on the tin. Minus one star where plastic fittings on the ends are uneven. Mostly a trivial cosmetic fault, but it will not stand if placed upright on its end, meaning this thing is going to roll around absent octagonal plates. It is not like it would be especially stable standing on end anyway, It is just a pain in the butt and indicative of limited quality control. Which is doubtful to affect any other part of the product. Fits competition plate sizes. May technically be oversize for purpose, but you will find more accessories, like a bar lock (which comes include). Worth noting: this does NOT come with weights, and for most any grip/wrist exercise you do not want a lot of weight to start. I recommend finding yourself some rubber plates scaling in 0.25 lbs increments. 0.25 > 0.5 > 0.75 > 1 lbs. Take your time and graduate little by little, no matter how strong you think you are. Connective tissues build slow, and high volume with very gradual incrementing weights will help tremendously with blood flow feeding all those tendons and ligaments. But the reverse is also true, and you can always choke up on the bar if the least you have is 5 lbs, which will also counter-weight. Place a strip of masking tape above your grip and just keep adding tape as you move out toward the opposite end. There is a ton of potential to progressive overload. Couldn't be easier. Worked great for rehabilitating 'tennis elbow' (tendonitis of inner elbow). I find wrist rotations are the only thing worth doing. Bigger muscles affecting grip can be hit any other way. Rotations on the other hand stabilize radius and ulna, giving those bigger forearm muscles something to flex against, much like a weight belt does for the engaging the entire core to support the back in lifts. Far and away a better device for grip than anything I've ever tried, unless you're already rock climbing, or something similar. And WAY more versatile compared to those spring loaded contraptions. Always found those to be especially useless.

Pairs Well with Fat Gripz 1.75"
Works well for me. I paired it with the Fat Gripz 1.75" and it works great. I was pleased to see how the orange colors match. Works great for eccentric wrist extensions. Here is a Bulletproof Forearm Workout for you: 1. STRICT ECCENTRIC WRIST EXTENSION (The ECRB Target) Execution: Seated, forearm resting flat on a bench, holding the hammer close to the collar. Use your non-working hand to physically lift the fat end of the hammer into the top contracted position (concentric assist). The Work: Release the non-working hand and lower the weight using strictly the working wrist. Metrics: 10–12 Reps | Tempo: 4-0-0-1 (4-second hydraulic eccentric, zero concentric work by the target arm). 2. SUPPORTED HAMMER PRONATION/SUPINATION (with Fat Gripz) Execution: Seated, forearm resting flat on a bench. Hold the hammer with the 1.75” grip. Rotate 180 degrees from palm-up to palm-down. Metrics: 10 Reps per direction (20 total movements per arm) | Tempo: 3-1-3-1. 3. SUPPORTED HAMMER RADIAL DEVIATION (with Fat Gripz) Execution: Seated, forearm supported on a bench. The hammer lever points straight forward. Flex the wrist upward (thumb pointing toward the ceiling) against the leverage of the hammer. Metrics: 10–12 Reps | Tempo: 2-1-2-1. 4. ISOMETRIC FAT GRIPZ FARMER’S HOLD (seated) Execution: Sit upright on a flat bench (neutral spine). Hold heavy dumbbells equipped with Fat Gripz at your sides. Squeeze with maximum intent. Metrics: 45-Second Max Hold.

For $20 buy it if your looking at it. Your forearms will thank you later.
Wrist bar is a great buy @ $20. It's light enough to do rehab work and sturdy enough to handle 90% of the weight people will put on it. I wouldn't toss it around on hard floors or bang it on weights as the metal is not super thick. I can put on 20lbs and do deviation work but not with the included collar. It's cheap and the weak link on this tool. I have a few plate loaded machines and plenty of extra collars. My collars are rogue and lock-jaws. This wrist bar uses the standard 2" collar so that was a huge plus for me as i only have 1 set of axle collars for my axle bar. I did upload some pictures for you all to see that this bar is knurled and takes chalk easily. I also added 2 pictures of how the collars held from a 3' drop on my gym mat. The included collar has a cheap plastic feel compared to my other collars and i'm not a fan of the lock and i value my toes. I can see how this would be a discouragement for someone who doesn't have extra collars but I'm pretty sure all these bars in this price range have the same type of collar.

Great product - effective and well made
Simple but effective - I wouldn’t be without mine, it has been great for rehabilitation of tendon injuries. The clamp is secure and weights (sold separately) are held in place well - you can vary where you grip on the pole to vary the resistance. Would benefit from some markers on the pole to help with long term consistency of resistance, but otherwise can’t fault it.
