Sacred Path Cards: The Discovery of Self Through Native Teachings

I love these cards!! I included a photo of my original cards I bought in 1996. I bought this new set to replace my old set. My old set are still good and if a puppy hadn’t chewed on a few of my cards I wouldn’t bother replacing them. The cards are made to last. As one can see my old cards are only a little faded compared to the new cards on the right. This set looks and feels just like the cards I bought 27 years ago. They haven’t changed a thing. If your wondering wether to buy them, don’t hesitate. The Native American Teaching and the insights that these cards provide are invaluable. There is no other cards like these!!! And if you buy them, please do not hesitate to buy the Medicine Cards, also by Jamie Sams, they work in conjunction with these Sacred Path Cards and provide deeper readings and deeper insights. I can not say enough about these two sets of cards. Jamie Sams is a legend!!!!

I originally encountered Jamie Sams' work when I happened on her Sacred Path Cards book in Goodwill. The cards were missing, but the book immediately connected for me and I spent the entire next day reading it with my jaw on the ground. I knew I wanted the cards, too. I came online to look for them and saw all the negative feedback regarding the quality of the cards, and put off actually ordering them for several weeks.I'm so glad I finally did. The cards are a little "softer" than most of the card sets I've handled previously. They feel more like playing cards rather than oracle or divining cards. There's also some color variation in the backs, so that some are a deeper orange and others are a lighter orange. At first, I was disappointed by this fact.But once I started actually using them, the disappointment evaporated. From a practical standpoint, I don't notice the color variation while I'm using the cards, and the "flimsiness" is actually a bonus as they're actually really easy to shuffle and use. I bend them both directions on a regular basis to keep them from bending out of shape.From a spiritual standpoint, they are BY FAR my favorite set of cards I have ever used. They immediately became my go-to. I find their messages are so ridiculously spot on for me that it's almost unbelievable. I love how each card has a long storytelling component that explains their connection to the Seneca or other native tradition, and then a short section on the applicability. Having already read the book, I sometimes find I only want to reread the application section, and other times I enjoy and appreciate rereading the entire background.I cannot recommend this set enough, especially to anyone who is interested in the spiritual traditions of native American peoples.

I love this deck! It teaches so much about Native American teachings, beliefs, lifestyles, and principles. The readings are profound and accurate. They help to teach a whole new way of thinking and seeing the world and yourself. Highly recommend!

..in fact, by reading some of these reviews, these cards may not be for Native Americans, at all. I can see why some Native Americans would take issue with the book and cards if they feel that it doesn't accurately express their teachings. However as one who is not Native American (in this life...)I appreciate these cards and the book very much.I think that the spirit with which we approach anything determines our results. Many people who have written here have gotten great help from this book (and cards..) They were given to me at a Christmas party by someone who didn't want them anymore and I really didn't expect a lot. I probably would not have purchased them. But, after using them a few times I really felt blessed by the "gift." I find the teachings very wise, sweet and gentle. I have gained great wisdom just from reading the book and I have experienced a lovely synchronicity of information when I used the cards.I really don't care if they are "authentic" or not. I certainly don't care if Native elders don't "recognize" Jamie Sams! (No disrespect intended.) I think that people who believe that the Great Spirit (God) can speak to them directly, regardless of being approved by other humans, can get considerable benefit from these cards.Like anything, use your own intuition, and if these cards speak to you, then use them. If not, there are plenty of other spiritual tools around. :-)

Yes, the cards are not made of the thicker card stock-be mindful shuffling. The cards do slide well when shuffling and do not stick like some decks that I have experienced. The book in the set is a hardcover book and is very well written. For each card the author shares a story to help you fully understand the meaning and the depth of the Teaching behind and within the message/card.I have used the spreads shown in the book and they did bring a greater understanding. These cards are excellent for drawing a daily card to help you be the best version of yourself as you walk your Sacred Path and live your Sacred Dream. I have also used them in ceremony to gather wisdom pertaining to the ceremony held.I gave this card set 5 Stars because of the True Connection it gifts. Do not let the quality of card stock be the obstacle keeping you from developing your Relations. You will be missing out on something bigger than yourself if you choose to follow that detour sign.

She hasn't used them yet but I have an Original First edition that was gifted to me from an X. Yes we are still friends the break was a good one and we were more like friends then relationship. so anyways I have used them for years. forward 20+ years and I knew my wife wanted them so got them she was very very surprised. and plans to use them eventually.

What an awesome purchase! From previous reviews I was fully expecting horrible card stock quality but that was not the case. Maybe they fixed the problem? Card stock is thin but durable and easy to shuffle. Comes with a small labeled card box that fits neatly into the larger box with the book. Speaking of the book ... truthfully I was expecting a small hard-to-read guidebook and was pleasantly surprised at the large size and in-depth information. The book contains vital info and personal stories by the author to help illustrate the message. Overall I'm very pleased with my purchase and highly recommend you take the leap of faith if you're interested in this deck.

Beautiful deck that gives profound insights. The card stock is laminated yet thin however, I bought it to use for insights not to collect dust on my shelf.

I had purchased these cards and accompanying booklet approximately a decade ago. It was a very important part of my spiritual growth. As time moved on, I parted with them. Recently, I spotted them on Amazon and this brought back a lot of good memories for me, and decided to order another set. It's been a nice walk down memory lane. Also, it's interesting how Jamie Sam's words have taken on different meanings for me with time - as I've spiritually evolved. If you feel a connection to traditional, spritual Native teachings - I would not hesitate to recommend purchasing this set. This may be the set for you! I hope you enjoy them as much as I have! I wasn't sure what to expect with these cards and when they first arrived I actually thought they wouldn't be much use. I've only done a few readings with them for myself and friends so far but they've been uncannily accurate in describing the situations I've asked about and the insights they've revealed have been very useful.Obviously any tool like this is down to the individual user as much as anything but they've helped me to see other perspectives and they've also at times backed up what I was already sensing about the situations which then gave me confidence in my own abilities.The book that's included is very good. I bought a copy of the workbook as well which is good but I actually use the one which came with the cards more.The only thing I would have liked was some more specific spreads but that's maybe not appropriate for these teachings.
