Finally, sufficient capacity.
Bought this to replace home-brewed vehicle fluid reservoir suction tool (brake fluid reservoirs, power steering reservoirs, etc.). Used Amazon-sourced o-rings to properly seal bottle for usable suction to remove fluids. Works like a champ. The 16 oz. capacity is more than enough to empty most power steering reservoirs and brake fluid reservoirs. I have used it for that purpose on a Honda, Acura, Jeep, and Dodge. Haven't had to empty it and resume suctioning reservoir yet. Got each reservoir emptied in one shot. Using Mityvac hand suction pump to pull suction for removing fluid and bottle hasn't collapsed yet. Thanks Mityvac.

Nice product that fill my expectations for brake bleeding
Hard plastic that holds integrity when pulling vacuum for brake fluid. Large capacity for doing brake bleed all around car

Nice rigid bottle
I was looking for a container that would hold some volume when I was vac bleeding brakes and this works very well and is nice and rigid so it won't collapse from the vacuum. Actually this is my second purchase of this container because I was very happy with the fist one and I will order another if this one also gets accidentally run over in the garage.

Time saver
Just what I have been looking for. I have Russell Speed Bleeders on each caliper ,and with this large capacity reservoir, I don't have to worry about the much smaller reservoir I have been using will overflow. I like to pump a 12oz container of DOT3 through each caliper and this will eliminate several steps.

Sturdy but Doesn't Hold Vacuum
To prevent sucking brake fluid into my MityVac pump, I wanted a larger contained that the one supplied with the hand pump. The size of this unit is perfect for my needs to flush/fill fluid for my clutch, front, and rear brakes of my motorcycle. Like other reviewers mentioned, the lid to the unit does not create an airtight seal. At first, I used copious amounts of teflon tape, but it didn't last very long. As some pointed out, an o-ring is really needed to make the bottle airtight. I searched Amazon for a 45mmX49mmX2mm o-ring, and found I found a seller offering 10 rubber o-rings at that size for around $5. Once installed in the lid, the bottle now maintains steady vacuum. Like others, I docked the manufacturer one star for tailing to supply the necessary o-ring to make the bottle truly functional.

Use this for brake bleeding
I used this to bleed the brakes without having to have someone in the vehicle to press the brake. You’ll need a hand vac pump, and a good seal at the bleeder valve (use a little grease to seal the area).

s almost useless as you are constantly emptying it for any sort ...
I wish I had bough this a lot sooner. I have the little container that came with my vacuum pump, but it;s almost useless as you are constantly emptying it for any sort of real fluid evacuation. I mainly bought this as I needed something large enough to not be annoying for sucking the fluid out for a power steering flush on my truck. Works well and is good quality. Little pricey for what it is, but I've used Mityvac products for years and they last. You will likely need to get some more clear hose as this comes with only a tiny piece, but that is pretty cheap at a hardware store.

poor quality and not airtight
I've had a mityvac for about 20 years and it still works great for auto repair stuff so I figured I would get this to use for fluid flushes rather than my cobbed together homemade catch bottle setup. THIS BOTTLE IS NOT AIRTIGHT !! Tighten the top down fully it will not pull a vaccum. I ended up cutting a square piece of material from a disposable nitrile glove then cut a 1 inch hole in it to use as a gasket that covered the top and threads on the bottle body and tightened the top on over the nitrile. Then I was able to use it. It would then pull a vacuum and could pull a liquid into it. Like it was supposed to be designed to do. its a shame that a 13 buck plastic bottle from Mityvac doesn't have the precision tolerances or quality control that goes into a 99 cent soda bottle top.

Quality is as expected from mityvac. My old container that came with hand operated vacuum pump was too small for comfortable use. This one complements it perfectly and simply does the job. I am very satisfied with it.

Bought it to use instead of the small tank that comes with the mityvac. This one is better as it has the hanger and is easier to use.

Does what it's supposed to do. For the price, I didn't feel like cobbling up something myself.

Far improved compared to the old style bottles. They actually seal when closed and don’t pop open when accidentally touched against something
