Doodle Zen: Finding Creativity and Calm in a Sketchbook

I like many things about this book! The size, the paper, the generous number of pages, the softly watercolored backgrounds, and the gentle prompts for doodling. There is a variety of background styles, color combinations, and ideas to jumpstart doodling, drawing, or writing. The book construction is very sturdy, allowing me to bend the pages back and smooth them down for a nice open, flat surface to work on. So far I've successfully used pencil, pen, ink, watercolor and acrylic markers, and gelly roll pens without bleed-through. The colors stand out nicely! I highly recommend this fun book for those times when you just want to relax and do some "easy art."

I like that her books are made of a good weight paper. Other than water-colors which made the pages wrinkle a bit- I’ve had success with ink, markers, pencils, and glue.

Great gift for the artistic person in your life!

I'm an Independent Artist who has been focusing on doing computer edits so my drawing skills have gotten rusty. Also,another reason I stopped drawing was that I either often couldn't find anything I felt made for a good "subject" or I would let my "Perfectionist Streak"get in the way. I saw this book in a museum bookshop & bought it & now I'm glad I did,the author wants you to have fun & not worry about making mistakes which very freeing for me. Recommended for both non-artists (you just might surprise yourself..) as well as professional ones who are in a creative block (or just want to relax and get back to why they became artists in the first place:-)

Das Buch bietet sehr viele gestalterische Möglichkeiten. Es ist wunderschön Hintergrund illustriert, mit zarten Pastellfarben, außerdem hat es auf manchen Seiten auch schöne SchriftenDas einzige was mich sehr stört ist die Tatsache,dass es leider auf englisch geschrieben ist. Ich persönlich muss immer mit dem Handy Übersetzer dasitzen und mir die gestellten Aufgabenstellungen im Buch umständlich übersetzen lassen...(Ja nicht jeder Mensch kann automatisch englisch)...Daher auch nur drei SterneWäre es auf deutsch hätte ich fünf Sterne gegeben 🙂Ich habe mir das Buch trotzdem gekauft, da es, wie erwähnt, sehr schön gestaltet ist
