They are very easy to install
I installed this hinge on all cabinets in the house. They are very easy to install. I have included a video of the cabinets with and without the Blumotion soft close hinges installed, so you can see the difference these hinges make. I found that I only had to replace one hinge per cabinet door on the smaller cabinets to get the soft close effect. On the larger cabinet doors, (22" X 40") that had three hinges installed, I had to replace two of the installed hinges with Blumotion hinges to get the desired effect. If the installed hinges are of the same size, it only takes a couple of minutes to replace and balance each hinge. An excellent solution to the noisy closing cabinet doors.

Works Great
The Blum hinges fit perfectly into the slots of the 1/2" standard hinges that they replaced. The hinges have a light grey switch between light (0) and strong (1) damping on the cabinet door side of the hinge. If you install two hinges per door, you can choose between both strong damping, both light damping, or one strong and one light damping to change how fast the cabinet door closes. I have attached a close-up picture of a hinge in the 0 position to the review. After changing the hinge setting, close the cabinet door once to allow the hinge to adjust the damping. The hinges come packed together in a small cardboard box with with the attachment screws in a plastic bag. There was nothing to keep then hinges from moving around in the packaging, but all the hinges worked perfectly and were free from damage upon arrival.

This soft-close hings work great! They are also a great value
This soft-close hings work great! They are also a great value. They do take some time to adjust just and make them exactly how you like, however when they are set up they are very nice. I have a video where my doors close, we have the settings pretty high so there is little to no noise when they close.

Highly recommend the Blum soft close hinges
Purchased these hinges to replace the stock kitchen cabinet hinges which always leave you wanting for more. The Blum soft close hinges were that "more" I needed. There are way more pros than cons.Pros:• Soft close feature is sturdy meaning it's practically impossible to slam your cabinets. Great if you have kiddos at home.• There are 3 settings to allow adjustment for the soft close feature depending on the weight of your cabinet door--one allowing you to turn it off completely.• The slight adjustment for the overlay allows you to fit cabinets just right.Cons:• These are slightly bulkier than the stock hinges they replaced but not too noticeable and certainly worth it for all the advantages you get.Overall, great soft close hinges and an even better price. Highly recommend these!

Perfect replacement for 30 year old Blum 1/2" Overlay Hinges (not soft close)
Our 30 yr old cabinets started not opening and closing properly and it was obvious the old Blum hinges were breaking down. They are mostly nickeled metal but have plastic inserts for the rotation range. You have to be really careful selecting the hinges that mount the same way as your existing ones. Some screw onto the face (exterior side) of the cupboard frame, and others like these screw onto the inside edge of the frame.I was a bit anxious whether the hinge to edge distances were correct or not but these are perfectly compatible with the non-Blumotion (soft close) version of the Blum 1/2' Overlay. I removed the olde hinges, screwed these onto the doors using the exact same two screw holes. However, the old hinges had two screws securing hinge to the cabinet frame and this model uses one large screw. So I carefully measured each set of two holes on the fram and drilled another 1/8" hole exactly between them. Oddly some of the old hinges had two holes 1-1/2" apart and others at 1-3/8" apart. But regardless, by centering the new drill hole in the center between the old holes the hinges went on perfectly. Measure every hinge and mark accordingly to be sure. Best to use a ruler that has marked increments down to 1/16".It is easiest to do this with a helper to have the door held while the hinge screws are driven into the cabinet frame (attaching door to frame). Work together to remove doors (we did one or two at a time), then one person can be removing old hinges and attaching new hinges to the door while the other person is measuring and drilling the new holes on the cabinet frame. Then both can work together to hold the door steady and attach the hinges to cabinet frame. The hinges have small adjustments for (A) moving the door away from the frame and also (B) away from the hinge. I did not need either adjust for single doors. But for doors that close together (doubles) I had to back the screw towards the middle of the hinge all the way out usually to allow to the doors to close together without binding. I suspect older doors have swelled a bit and may have banged loose a bit so need more room to close properly. The hinge attaches to the frame with slotted holes and one screw so there can be some adjustment up and down as well for matching heights of double doors. These hinges work really well. You can give the door a good push to close and it slows down and then very gently oozes to a close. One warning though. When opening to 90* they kind of spring open further to the full 105*. So if the door opens into a corner it will bang loudly against the opposing door/wall. In this case be sure to get the Blum COMPACT hinge restrictors (about five dollars per 20 or so) for each hinge. The restrictors only allow the hinge to open to 87* which still allows full access to the cupboard but absolutely will not bang into corner cabinet or wall. These soft close hinges have a made a huge difference for us. No more banging cabinet/cupboard doors! Saves wear and tear on the cabinet doors and so quiet. I will suggest that if you need to replace only a couple of worn out door's hinges, to consider upgrading ALL your cabinet doors in that area with the same type of hinge. We just upgraded the broken hinges/doors but then we got used to giving them a good push to close and when it turns out to be one of the doors with older style hinges they go BANG. Now I have all the door hinges upgrade to these Blumotion soft close style and the kitchen so much quieter and I don't cringe hearing bangs and thinking what damage is eventually done to the door.

Quick and easy swap with existing hinges
Where have these been all my life? I just purchased a new home and the cabinet doors came with standard cup hinges like this but without the soft-close feature. I was quickly able to pop off one hinge per door and replace with this hinge, reusing the existing screws and screw holes. After some minor tweaking with the door alignment, I was a happy camper. I only needed to swap one hinge per door to achieve the soft-close action I desired. Attached video shows standard hinge on right compared to soft-close hinged door on the left.

Great upgrade for old cabinets
We replaced older external hinges with these nice Austrian-made soft-close hinges and couldn't be happier. If you are doing this job yourself, I strongly recommend that you look at the Kreg Tool Company's concealed hinge jig. This will make the job a LOT easier. The hinges are highly adjustable, so getting good alignment between doors and door and cabinet is pretty easy. The soft-close damper can be turned off on individual hinges, so smaller, lighter doors need only one damper per door for good operation. The online instructions from Blum are excellent. Make sure that you get the right hinge for your application. They make dozens.

Exactly what I needed! 1/2” self closing hinges
Exactly what I needed!Self closing hinges = no more banging cabinets! One was not really working so I added another self closing hinges (I didn’t bother replacing it). You technically need 1 per door unless it’s a huge door.Bought the 25 pack which equates to under 3.5$ each. Super good value! I think home hardware sells them at least double the price.Reno project for my cabinets in the kitchenette/laundry basement room.

cupboard hinges
My son has just installed these on my cupboard doors. He is a carpenter by trade so they did not take long for him to install, not sure how long it would take the ordinary person. They are working well, although I have had to get used to waiting for them to close on their own. As my husband always accused me of slamming doors, he is well pleased that I can no longer do that due to the soft closure mechanism!

Slo-close is great...
No more slamming doors, just give the door a tap and before it closes it slows down to gently close. If you already have 35mm door hinges, the replacement job will be a cinch just remove and replace one at time. If there's a side to side adjustment to make, you can make it once both new hinges are installed. The price was excellent too along with free shipping.
