Works, but not for hifi
Got this to quickly wire two KRK Rokit7 monitors into my Apple Mac Mini, while aware that the proper solution is to get what's called a "direct box" like the Radial USB Pro. My thought process was "for $15 I can get this and see how it works, then get the direct box if needed."Well, the cable works great, as long as things are loud. For quieter levels or when on pause/mute, there's a pretty good hiss out of the speakers. I'll be picking up a direct box once the hiss bugs me enough...EDIT a week or two later...Got tired of the hiss pretty quick. 🙃 Ordered a new set of XLR cables and a Mackie MDB-USB...and the hiss didn't go away. Looks like it's a known inherent issue in the speakers. So...I can't recommend or not recommend this. Will file under "works in a pinch." If/when I replace the monitors I'll try to test again and update.

Time for an outdoor movie!
This cable is used for splitting an audio signal from a 3.5mm headphone jack to left/right channels on XLR cables. It should be noted that each XLR cable only carries the left OR the right channel.I am using this cable for an outdoor movie theater setup, to send audio from my projector to the left/right speakers up by my screen. Overall the cable seems to be holding up well, but I have concerns about how well the XLR connectors are on the thin gauge audio cable. I would suggest that you take a little precaution when connecting/disconnecting the cables and pull by the connector and not the cables.A final note, the manufacturer added two nice features to the cable to help identify the left/right channels. First, there is a dotted line that runs down one entire 1/2 of the cable. This dotted line denotes the right channel. The second identifier is that they also have a tag that specifies TIP or RING. TIP is the left channel, where as the RING is the right channel. I would recommend this cable, it works wonderfully but should be handled with care.

I couldn't knock a star off.
Because there wasn't a reason to do so.This is an "INEXPENSIVE" stereo patch cord. On one end you have male XLR connectors and on the other end, a stereo (TRS or Tip-Ring-Sleeve) mini-plug.The overall length of our cable, tip-to-tip measured 6"6.75" (78.75") long. The cable itself has a durable, soft to the touch, outer cover and the main cable is very flexible, which indicates many stranded wire inside the covering. Overall, it has the pleasant, feel to the hand that one looks for in a product of this kind. The TRS end is a molded finished plug end and the XLR connectors are the assembled termination style plug end with rubber slip-on termination boot ends.Overall, this is a well manufactured product that looks like it will give many years of faithful service. Like all items of this kind, this is not a permission slip to go all gorilla on the patch cord. Normal use rules apply as to proper storage, which means, not stored in a boxed up tangle and then unceremoniously pulled out of the box along with twenty pounds of tangled up cables pulling on the XLR connections. And normal use means disconnecting from the plug end itself, not disconnecting by pulling on the cord and yanking the cable out of the connector. If this cable is shown normal usage, there's no reason to believe this product will fail to perform for many years. Abuse the product and it could possibly fail the same day installed for use. If one wants a patch cord they can go all gorilla on, then they'll need to spend a boatload more to get a product they don't have to respect. If one respects their gear, this patch cord will do what it is they want, be a six foot stereo patch cord to be used to connect two locations together. For the delivered price, there's no reason to discount a star but repeating myself, this is not a cord one can go all gorilla on. If that's what one is looking for, they'll need to spend more but if one is looking for an inexpensive stereo, XLR > TRS mini-plug connector, they will give proper treatment, this is the cable that will serve your needs for years.Hope the above helps in your buying decision.

First bad hosa product ever
I have bought many of these kinds of cables over the years. Most of them have been hosa. I have no idea what they changed in this version! The 1/8 in connector is HORRIBLE! It doesn't fit snugly into multiple computers or other devices I have tried. Super noisy! Even swapping out with another hosa cable that is an older version is a world of difference. Off to find an older version of this cable!

Not great quality
First one of the xlr connectors broke internally so we had to just wire all the speakers on the right xlr input since it was in a home gym and wasn't that big of an issue but now the aux connection is VERY SENSITIVE. It needs to be in the PERFECT spot or else it won't play at all. Very annoying when you want to pick your phone up during a workout to change the song and the music immediately cuts out and you have to fiddle with it for 2 minutes to get it in the right spot just to have it cut out again in the middle of an exercise. Overall very annoyed with this product and can't seem to be able to get a warrantee replacement on it. It said I can't return it now because its been too long but I only bought it about a month and a half ago.Bought another one. Same thing happened. Will not buy ever again. Also not sure why I haven't been contacted back from the seller to resolve this issue but they just lost a customer

I am a sound engineer and have an excellent rig. Very quiet
Noisy, noisy noisy.....I am a sound engineer and have an excellent rig. Very quiet, but needed to send audio from computer to mixer just for basic sound. This cable is ridiculous noisy. My previous cable had no noise. This should have been even more quiet with the XLR, but nope. Not sure why.

Better made than I expected
The range of reviews this item gets is weird. Mine turned up in a blister pack, feels well made and Just Works. The reviewer complaining that this lead blew up their iPod should be looking at what they plugged the lead into, not the lead. The back of the package even has a wiring diagram on it showing how the plugs are connected - this is not a tat item but one made to be used in a working technical environment.

Very poor quality
I've been using one of these for just over a month now, and already it has broken. I plugged the cable in once I got it, and it has stayed in the same place since. Now, one of the XLR connectors no longer works. I tried the cable with different devices and speakers after discovering the issue, to confirm that it is the cable that is faulty. Very annoyed to have spent £9 on an item which can only survive a month of use

poo
piece of crap, signal will crackle and cut out when the cable is disturbed in any way as the rubber housing around the trs jack is too flexible meaning lack of security and week connection between the copper and the trs, I will not be using HosaTech again in fact I want a full refund.P.s I have had the cable for 3 weeks now and it has fully stopped working, What a piece of crap
