Worked well. The bottom is a little tight to unscrew. The quality seems pretty good. You can put a metal cup or plate on top for keeping stuff warm but it is not hot enough to cook or boil water.

Love this little lantern. A litte stove for my metal mug and keeps me a little warm in the winter, not much better enough to enjoy.

This lamp seems to be o.k. but I'm not sure how long it's going to last. Hopefully, many years. First, the glass feels really loose. Maybe that's to compensate for expansion while the candles are burning? I almost returned it because I couldn't remove the base. After 30+ years of construction work, I have reasonably good hand strength and any possible arthritis doesn't feel bad yet. It felt like the base was getting stuck after turning about 1/16". After finally getting it apart I found some excess plastic that was causing the problem, so I filed it off with a fingernail file. I'm really glad the label wasn't on the lamp as shown in the picture. It was in the instruction manual to be stuck onto the lamp later... Or not. It didn't come with candles but I have some and will try it out later.

Is a good UCO copy at 1/3 the price. I have 3 uco lantern and this is the same quality. Well made, and if you have any hand strength, you can easily unscrew the black base to insert candles. Note 2 candles are uco, the 3rd is not, has a smaller diameter wick, smaller flame...

I haven't got to use these yet, but they arrived in one piece and appear to be just as good as the UCO brand. I'm very satisfied.
