Game is great, despite the fact it shipped late!
Game is very fun for me so far! I played the demo before buying this, though it was actually a hassle to get, lol. My shipping was delayed to the next day, but it’s not the games fault! It also came with a free double sided poster! I’m gonna hang this up on my wall, the art is so nice! I’m already a Danganronpa fan, and have played all the games, so I wanted to play this one next! Love the art, I love RPGs, and the story is good so far! I’m gonna try to get all 100 endings.

Fun and lots of mystery/plot twists!
Any game from the minds of Tookyo is a great game. This definitely has the Dangan Ronpa vibe, with a different plot but just as crazy game play and memorable characters. Great game! Definitely recommend it! It is built like a light novel reading game, so be aware of that!!

Love it.
One of the best games I have ever played, even better than the danganronpa series or raincode. Its also pretty long so you get alot of bang for your buck. The visual novel part is so strong, after some time the battles just get repetitive and in the way imo, but that's the only downside tha game has. The characters are brimming with personality and you will learn to love or hate them. The story is also pretty wild and there are often times where you even feel exhausted by all the twist and turns. Its a experience unlike any other game imo. 100% recommended for any jrpg fan and a no brainer for danganronpa fans. It also runs pretty decent on the nintendo switch, much better than goodbye despair and v3...

Standout Strategy Game on a console with real bangers!
The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy is an excellent strategy game for the Nintendo Switch. It combines tower defense, tactical combat, and character-driven storytelling into a cohesive and engaging experience. You manage a group of students defending their school from daily monster attacks over 100 in-game days, building defenses, assigning roles, and strengthening relationships between battles. The systems are deep but accessible, with clear feedback on what works and what doesn’t. The Switch version performs well in both handheld and docked modes, with sharp visuals and responsive controls. Voice acting is strong, and the writing balances serious themes with moments of warmth. Difficulty is challenging but fair—losses come from poor planning, not randomness. At around 25 hours for a full playthrough, it offers good value and replayability through New Game+. A standout title for fans of strategy and narrative-driven games. Highly recommended.

Strong narrative, Good combat.
I can say that narrative in the game is very well made and is absolutely worth the money. The game stays in your head while you think and try to gather the pieces together like a good mystery visual novel. The combat is good as well, I love Strategy rpgs Like Fire Emblem, Disgaea, Valkiria Chronicles and so and forth, The combat is simple and starts very snappy, if I had a small, very small complain is that, I tend to enjoy being pushed around a bit more so a higher difficulty setting or more punishing enemies would really make it a perfect experience for me. Though I do mean this only for the main battles once you have access to a big squad. When it comes to exploration battles, the combat is just perfect because you have limited resources and you have to consider if you should risk yourself to get a big reward or head back with the haul you just got, is very addictive and flexible but also punishing if you don't try to play it smart and safe. Overall? Try the demo and if you like what you see, I can say that both the narrative and the combat are intensified in the full game. Love this game, would buy again.

Fantastic visual novel-esque game from the minds behind Danganronpa and the Nonary games.
Only 30 endings in and have to get back to this game for the last 70 ones, but as a pseudo Visual Novel from the minds behind Danganronpa and the Nonary games this is a must have. Nearly each ending has it's own complete story behind it and rarely do any feel just copy and pasted. The combat is very enjoyable and for the most part does not get old as many wrap the story into them so you feel you are contributing to the story. If you have to repeat a battle for another ending you can skip them and other patches are constantly being worked on. I do wish this would come to other gaming platforms as I'd much prefer to play on the PS5 but I feel confident supporting anything Too Kyo games releases moving forward.

One of the best games of the year
This game is one of the best games I've played in the past few years. It has seriously pulled my emotional strings. While the comparisons with Danganronpa are absolutely obvious because of the character design or the quirky way they speak (so much that even the developers reference it multiple times, and the worldbuilding feels like a Danganronpa game), it tries to reinvent itself by having a really fun gameplay, and many different choices that will completely change what type of story they're trying to tell. I 100% recommend this game to all the players who want to spend more than 100 hours on this game... Or 100 days. I would simply advice to take it easy and not trying to complete it all at once, even though it really makes you want to. Because it can give you moments when you start to disconnect with the game... Which is pretty normal since you've been spending 6 hours non stop on it hahaha My only remorse is to not have the limited edition. This game deserves to be on physical media so it will never ever be forgotten. The OST is a banger. Sedum by Sincerity and Carousel by Zinee will be on repeat on my playlist. Overall this game is a 9/10, especially when you play it on the go on the switch. Of course the delivery was great, nothing special to say about that !

It's like playing your very own anime!!
I got this game day one, and I haven't been able to stop playing. I have already put in over 60 hours, and I just can't wait to see what happens next. I am on day 80, first play through, and still going, it's like playing your very own anime with a tactical RPG spin that is just fun. Also, for the review that mentioned the switch is the censored version, I don't have that issue, mine is unsensored and for sure a game not for children! Edit - Still playing and there are 100 different endings and I've unlocked 8, still so much to do!! So worth the price! Edit on 8/16/25 - Still playing, had to take a break back in June due to the release of the new Rune Factory game, but after I completed that, I came back to this game and now have 76 endings in and still loving it!

Great gameplay and story held back by disjointed pacing
I don't even like grid turn based combat games but I love this game. It's very good in terms of that. The characters are well written and the variety of things to do makes it somewhat an upgrade to the creator's older games, however, the suspense is poorly sustained by a patchy narrative that feels stretched too thin over the 100 in-game days. Some parts are very slow, some parts very fast, and that makes it feel disjointed as well. It's 4.5 stars from me. 5 for mechanics, 4 for narrative (a significant factors considering it's largely a visual novel game)

If you are a fan of visual novels then you will love this
Made by the same people who made the Danganronpa series (it's pretty obvious considering the nods to the series) and just as good Brilliant branching story once you complete the initial run and a fantastic bunch of characters who who love/hate at different points. Brilliant soundtrack as well Keeping this brief to avoid spoilers but well worth the cost - highly recommended
