Panamax M5300-PM 11-Outlet Home Theater Power Conditioner

I am by no means a audio/video expert, but I don consider myself an av enthusiast. With that said, I purchased the Panamax M5300-PM 11 to give me piece of mind and to hopefully do what it claims to do.. provide voltage monitoring and filtration to protect my expensive H/T equipment. I live in Florida where power surges and outages occur pretty frequently during the summer time, and so far I have not experienced any issues whatsoever with any of my equipment. I cannot attest to the enhanced audio and visual output due to cleaner power because I personally do not notice a difference. This is one of those purchases that you make because you want the piece of mind and you hope that if and when you experience a surge/spike that your equipment will be protected. I can only say that i have had friends and neighbors lose their TVs and stereo equipment during storms due to close lightning strikes and power spikes, yet during those same conditions my equipment has escaped unscathed. Anecdotal.. sure, but its enough for me to justify the expense. Here's some other thoughts: The 12v trigger is great. I have a power amp and a sub that utilize 12v triggers but my Marantz receiver only has on 12v output. This allows me to hook the amp and sub up to the switched outlets and get the same result. The display on the front is great for curious users to monitor the input voltage and amp draw of their gear, but it can be overwhelmingly blue. Thankfully you can dim it to where it is not a nuisance or turn it off completely. The USB port and power outlets on the front are great for quick charging cell phones, game controllers, etc. Overall, this is a well designed piece of equipment that provides plenty of options for powering various pieces of equipment. I have read some other reviews stating that this protected their equipment from damage, and I am certain that if/when my house experiences a large surge that this will keep my gear protected as well.

I first didn't think I would need something this "intense" for my home theater power needs until it went on sale and I was able to scoop it up for the price of a lower-end model. I now LOVE this thing! I get a great visual indicator as to how much power is being drawn at any given time. If I leave something on stand by purely by accident, or if I turn the volume of my receiver up a lot I can see the power levels spike as well. The best feature of this unit is one I hope I never have to use. I hope I don't experience any surges where this guy would have to kick in to save things, but I love having the piece of mind that my 6k in AV equipment is SAFE! The banks on the back are a great way to segregate your high-drawing devices from your more casual power consumers. The USB and power plug on the front are great touches too for when I have company over and they need to charge their phone or plug a device that we plan to project on the tv. Such a convenient way to use power safely. I can't speak much to the picture quality of running my tv through the Panamax. Many people online claim that it helps give a better picture quality. While I believe their numbers and can understand the power of a steady/conditioned current, I just can't visibly tell the difference; which is no big deal. I highly suggest this item to anyone looking to protect their home theater investment! I am now going to buy a smaller one for my subwoofer located far from this one!

Worked perfectly . Amp produced better. Tv was brighter, amazing how cheap surge protector hinders power distribution.

This unit replaced my old Monster (company has since gone out of business) power conditioner. Honestly, I never had an over/under voltage event that I know of, so - like many other reviewers, I can't say how well these units actually work in adverse conditions. I use them to help protect my stereo equipment in case such an event occurs. I looked at other brands and reviews were pretty much the same. I like the aesthetics of this unit, and needed a device that had the outlets in the back. I compared the M5300-PM against the M5400-PM of the same manufacturer. The main difference that I found was that the 5400 has additional voltage regulation on banks 1-4 (120VAC +/- 5V). The 5300 still has over and under voltage protection. The protection is what I was looking for and the additional cost for the voltage regulation was nice, but not worth the extra money - especially, considering I have fairly clean power where I live. One nice feature that the 5400 had is the ability to switch the front panel display between output voltage and output amps. The 5300 only displays amps. Both have the ability to dim the front panel display (4 level settings). I decided on the 5300 for my application. It was very easy to connect to my components. It has a 3 year $5000 warranty. The back panel has a circuit breaker that triggers an current greater that 15 amps, a ground lug, power input, 3 pairs of coax protection jacks (protects 3 coax devices), 1 pair of telephone jacks (protects 1 phone line) and a voltage sense trigger in/out. The voltage sense allows an external DC voltage to trigger the unit on or off. There is 1 pair of LAN connectors to protect the connected equipment, and one pair to protect equipment connected to the front-panel LAN connector for connected game device. There are 10 power outlets on the back. Each outlet is connected to a bank. Banks 1 and 2 connect to 4 outlets. These outlets are always on - except over/under voltage protection. Banks 3 and 4 connect 4 switched outlets. These outlets will turn on after a 10 second delay (after the front panel power button is switched on). Bank 5 connects two outlets. These outlets are high current (typically control the AMP/main unit) is a switched outlet. They turn on after a 5 second delay (after the front panel power button is switched on). The delays help bring components up in an order that helps avoid issues like pops caused by the order that the power is applied). The manual was pretty simple- really just a 4 page sheet with text summarizing each connection and panel. I guess this is all you really need, but it is kind of disappointing. It comes with the Panamax M5300-PM, a 36" coax cable, a 48" telephone cable, a 48" LAN cable, the power cord and the manual. Connections were easy, and it worked the first time. It was an easy replacement for the Monster power conditioner. Hopefully I won't have to experience it being needed. These devices seem to vary greatly in pricing. I got mine for a great price. I have seen the M5300 price actually higher than the M5400. Best to check before you buy.

I bought mine used and it has a few dings on it so that does cut down the value some what. That being said, After I hooked it up I knew I wasn't sending it back. The quality of sound takes my system up another level. Great for streaming with the ethernet slot for conditioning it. The fact that you can use your own power cord rather than a stock one hardwired is huge if you buy a good audiophile cord for it. It is a really good upgrade.

Simple to connect. There are ten line voltage outlets, of which four are permanently on and the rest switched. The three additional things this does that a regular multi-outlet extension cord doesn't are (1) surge suppressor, (2) cleans the current going to each outlet so that there is no cross-contamination to create buzzing or other interference across your components (3) has a usage meter on the front. By connecting one component at a time you can see how much they use.

Las opciones que ofrece el equipo son excelentes, es una buena opción que cuente con el "Triger de 12 colts" ya que tengo algunos equipos que no requiero tener energízados todo el tiempo, este equipo lo uso en combinación con el Panamax PM800.
