I have been trying for literally 2 hours and feel like if i try again i'm going to tear *myself*** A: You need a different size! Not all size s/l are the same size. Each brand is different. Don't get hung up on charts that tell you what size you need. I'm older have had a few babies have heavy flows but my average size is a 0 or 1. I hate the large sizes. Some are 3+ inches tall some only 1.3 inches tall and bigger does not mean better. The cup has to fit you not fill you. Also some are softer more flexible easier to open but if you get a stiffer one I suggest boiling it for maybe 20 mins it will soften up some but this will also cause it to not last the lifetime they say they are good for lol but you'll get a year or 2 out of one that is over boiled. Another option is to run it under warm water right before inserting **Q: Do we need a lubricate to insert the cup??** A: Not necessarily, but you can if you find it difficult to put in even with your vaginas natural lubrication. I wasn't sure, so I purchased this set because it was inexpensive compared to some other ones and comes with 2 different sizes since I didn't know which would work best for me and I wasn't sure it was something I'd like. Well, after getting to use them for a whole cycle now, I have to say I will never, ever go back to anything else. There is a learning curve to using a cup, but once I got it down (which honestly only took about two days) I was good to go! I have had absolutely NO LEAKS and have not used any kid of backup. These cups, and yes I use both (the smaller one the first and last day or so and the larger one when things are a little heavier). They are very comfortable, I literally cannot feel them at all. They are easy to take care of, especially when using the Shordy Cup Wash as well. But the thing I like about these most of all is throughout that time of the month, I feel cleaner, almost like I'm not even on my period. They even come with a nice little case to store them in when not in use that can easily be put in a purse if you need them on the go. If you're not sure about menstrual cups, try these ones. For the price point, if they're not for you it's not a waste of money.
