Installation was quick and easy. Definitely feel better than the stock sticks (not that those felt bad). No issues so far.

Install took me about 15 minutes. While there is no physical feeling difference from my stock thumb sticks, these offer the benefit of not having to worry about "stick drift". I'm keeping the originals not used so that if I ever decide to sell my OLED Steam Deck, I can provide the originals along with the upgraded sticks. They feel comfortable. When buying, be sure to buy the version for your Steam Deck. LCD vs OLED. It matters.

Feels and looks factory installed, no drift, easy install. Weird specifics I care about, the L3/R3 click is a little softer and a tad more travel, releasing the joystick from maximum travel like a flick where it snaps back to center and does not overextend the opposite direction, no springy or creaking noise in joystick movement. Resolved my main complaints with the stock joysticks on the Steam Deck OLED

Fixed my main issue with the Steam Deck; the feeling of the sticks is far better. With my original sticks, the sticks felt rough and grinded when I pushed them to the edges of the shell. I tried multiple things - controller stick rings, silicone lubricant. Rubber rings were extremely sticky and caught on the edge when you turned the stick. Silicone lubricant made a mess and did not improve the grinding. These sticks not only completely fix that issue, but the deadzone is much smaller, the stick feels less stiff, and the click in is much easier and more precise. Plus, no stick drift in the future. An essential upgrade to the Steam Deck for long-term use.

This was a quick install. It took around 10-15 minutes. Please remember to remove your SD card before taking off the backplate. The thumbsticks look no different from the originals but will prevent "stick drift" thanks to them being hall effect. The calibration instructions were okay, but a better and easier way is to put the deck into desktop mode after install. Launch Konsole and then use the command "thumbstick_cal" (without the quotation marks). Follow the instructions and you will be golden.I knocked one star off because the right stick has a defect in the thumb cap. See picture. The rubber is misaligned and the sharp edge of the plastic sticks out. Not a big deal, but maybe a little more quality control before shipping.

Some important notes:1. The Steam Deck is designed to be tinkered with from top to bottom. Valve released a video showcasing the innards of the system and how to navigate DIY replacements. Do not be afraid to get these sticks, you WILL be able to install them with a steady hand and a little grit. I'd give the estimate for a beginner at about 30 or so minutes. Half that if you're a pro! Very easy.2. Gulikit rarely if ever misses. These sticks pass the feel test compared to a proper OEM stick. To make sure that it was not my mind playing tricks, I borrowed my friend's stock Steam Deck OLED and passed both units around to test. Nobody could tell that mine was modified. So what is the advantage? No stick drift. Gulikit sticks, once installed correctly, will not require any replacement in your lifetime. You can plop in and relax.

While the joysticks on my OLED Steam Deck were having no issues of any kind, my previous LCD Steam Deck experienced drifting in both joysticks over time. As a preventative measure, I decided to try these hall effect joysticks out. The installation was a breeze and these feel just as good as the original joysticks. Just be sure to calibrate them after everything is installed. Overall, I'm very pleased with these joysticks. These feel just as good as OEM while providing peace of mind since stick drift is no longer an issue.
