Handmade Heroes Volumizing Non Aerosol Dry Shampoo - Instantly Absorbs Oil

I have tried numerous dry shampoos for my fine, oily, straight hair. Typically, haven’t had good luck with powder variety and stick with aerosol, but I don’t like the environmental waste of the cans. A friend recommended this one and I’m finally on my second container. It lasts much longer than the spray, so you save a lot of $$$. It’s also much easier to travel with since it’s a powder in a smallish bottle. There’s less white cast than most sprays. Doesn’t affect me as much being blonde. It has a pleasant, mild coconut smell. It adds a little volume to the roots, which is nice for the limp-haired like me, but thick haired friends might want to keep that in mind.

Works very well. Absorbs oil, doesn't make your hair look powdery, and has a light pleasant scent. It also gives your hair some body and still be able to style it. I really like that there are no chemicals.

I have been using Drop Dead Gorgeous dray shampoo for light hair for year. I just ordered a new bottle and they have slightly changed the ingredients as well as the container. IF you have been using the original version you might find this review helpful. The new dispenser allows for a lot, A LOT, of powder to be dispensed. You may want to control the amount by not opening the holes all the way until you figure out what best matches your need. The original dispenser had smaller holes and a smaller outlet making it necessary to shake a bit to get what you needed (less sometimes is better). The ingredients have changed slightly as well. It used to be a very light geranium/lavender scent and now is strong vanilla. The powder seems to be more opaque (denser?) making it harder to blend even with my white gray hair. Ok, with that comparison being said I still think this dry shampoo is one of the best I have tried. It is easy to travel with, works well to give a bit of lift on my day three of no-shampoo, and overall, even if vanilla is not my preference it smells better than those artificial scents in arosol style dry shampoos.

Great product! Takes getting used to the application, but easy enough to distribute through hair. Does its job while adding body to my fine hair. It also doesn’t make my hair feel weighed down like the aerosol dry shampoos I have used. I would definitely try it if you’re thinking about it. I also appreciate the slight vanilla scent, it’s not overpowering.

I just received the product and I'm using it on freshly washed and dried hair so I will be updating this review. Cute Packaging, as of right now I do not like the smell at all. It is a little difficult to rub through try not to get it on your scalp and just your hair close to your scalp otherwise you'll be scrubbing and scrubbing and scrubbing. I used to just use cornstarch for dry shampoo when I was out of my spray so we will see if this works better than that. I was hoping for a nicer smell since the cornstarch does not give you that but I would definitely go back to cornstarch if this doesn't work because of the smell alone. But if it gives my hair good volume and does not look greasy it may be worth we're buying. I'm a mama of four and a pup I do not wash my hair everyday or few days. Also I will be trying it on my 10 year-old daughter's hair she had showered yesterday and her hair gets greasy if you just look at it wrong. She has darker hair so I do worry that this will take a very long time to rub it in but definitely going to give it a try and will update on that also.

Until you have given this product a try for at least 60-90 days, then I don't think it's fair to give a full and honest review. With that being said, I started using this dry shampoo the first week of February, 2026. At first, I was VERY hesitant. I just loved volumizing aerosol dry shampoos, but it was time to try something more natural, non-fragrant, and safe for my scalp. I needed to give my hair and scalp time to adjust to a new product. Ever since I started using Drop Dead Gorgeous I have noticed my hair staying fuller throughout the week, and not getting as oily as quickly as it used to. I have fine medium length blonde hair that breaks off due to coloring. On top of using this product + Smarty Pants prenatal vitamins, I have noticed good hair growth! I truly believe the aerosol dry shampoos were not only significantly damaging my hair, but also causing my hair to fall out. I've noticed less hair loss in the shower and just better overall results throughout the week using this product. I've grown to love it! User tip: Separate your hair in layers and add the powder as close to the root as you can get. Let it sit for 2-3 minutes, THEN either brush it through your hair or use your fingers to massage it in. Give your hair a flip and you'll have full and clean looking hair! I don't think I will ever go back to aerosol.

I love this dry shampoo! I have fine hair so I deal with oily hair by day 2 so I use a lot of dry shampoo. Other brands have heavy smells and don’t last long, usually requiring daily application. This dry shampoo has a subtle smell and lasts a long time. The formula also doesn’t irritate my scalp (others cause breakouts and skin pain). The bottle itself lasts a lot longer than a spray does.

I use dry shampoo regularly and most often used aerosol in the past. However, I was finding that I was going through a can in several uses. I found this as an alternative and it does work for refreshing for sure. However, not the kind of refreshing that feels good. It looks better and my hair does have lift at the root, less oil, and looks clean. The texture leaves something to be desired. It doesn't have that silky clean feel that some powders or aerosol dry shampoo provides. I have since ordered an alternative choice and prefer the feeling that I get from this as it actually does feel clean. I think it is worth considering because it does last a lot longer than cans often do and I would for sure use this if needed as it works and provides volume.

Didn't work as intended. Tried using little product, then more product. Also tried application with hands and when that didn't work tried it with a brush. Didn't look good either way I tried, just made hair look greasy and full of powder...

Very happy with this product. I have had surgery on my left wrist and am unable to wash my hair. I wanted a dry shampoo to freshen my hair and this product did just that. I used a small amount of powder on the roots, massaged it in and my hair looked good. I like that it is a natural powder. I like that the fragrance is fresh and subtle, like a sweet coconut . I like that it didn’t weigh my hair down. Very grateful for this product today😌🙏

Super ergiebig, hält ewig! Man muss aufpassen das man nicht zuviel verwendet. Nicht direkt auf die Haare streuen sonst ist alles weiss! Erst auf die Hände geben und verteilen.
