Great test prep info!
Is it weird that this is a 5 star product but I hate it? 🤣🤣🤣 This book has all of the information you need to pass the CTS test so it definitely does the job. BUT, I hate taking tests and having to do this for my job has not been my favorite 😂😂 but it's you need to take the exam, get this book. It will help you a lot!

Comprehensive Guide, But Includes Unnecessary Information
The CTS Exam Guide, Third Edition is a well-structured and detailed resource for those preparing for the CTS exam. It covers a wide range of AV concepts, from system design to networking and installation practices. The explanations are clear, and the practice questions help reinforce key topics. However, I found that the book contains a lot of information that is not actually tested on the exam, which can make studying feel overwhelming. While the extra details are useful for overall AV knowledge, they are not essential for passing the test. In my experience, having prior industry knowledge significantly reduces the difficulty of the exam when combined with studying this guide. Someone with hands-on AV experience will likely find many of the concepts familiar and easier to grasp. That said, this book is still a valuable tool, especially for those new to the field. It serves as both a study aid and a solid reference for AV professionals. Overall, it’s a great resource, but focusing on key exam topics would make it even better.

Even if your not taking the CTS
This is the current third edition for certification of technology specialist through the Avixa company. It is written in clear and concise language, and you don’t need much prerequisite knowledge to digest. If you do any work, or are thinking about a career path in the A/V field, this is a good supplement to your ongoing education. I am an audio engineer who is looking for a more “essential” career path, and almost every commercial and entertainment venue building needs a CTS for infrastructure design and instillation. IT and A/V are becoming increasingly integrated, this info puts a nice little bow on the union. There are supplemental videos through the company website for additional help.
