Clean, Reliable Protein I’ve Used for Years!
I’ve been using TGS Nutrition Whey Protein Powder for several years now, and it continues to be my go-to protein. What sets this product apart is its simplicity—no added sugars, artificial flavors, or fillers—just clean, unflavored whey protein. Because it’s unflavored, it blends perfectly into anything: smoothies, oatmeal, coffee, or even baked goods. It dissolves well, especially with a blender or shaker bottle, and doesn’t leave a chalky texture or aftertaste like some other brands. Another huge plus: no digestive issues. I’ve tried other proteins in the past that caused bloating or discomfort, but never with this one. I appreciate the transparency of the ingredients and the consistent quality over the years. If you’re looking for a clean, effective, and versatile protein powder, this is it. Highly recommended for anyone serious about nutrition or just trying to keep things simple and healthy.

Comprehensive no-bull review - TGS Protein a rare find
This whey protein is a rare find--rBGH-free, flavoring-free, with a soy-free emulsifier...and reasonably priced, compared to some of the other outrageous sums some companies making similar products expect people to pay. I spent hours searching on the internet for basically a no-nonsense whey without soy lecithin, and this is pretty much it--there's nothing else like it out there. Well, that's a bit of an exaggeration. I know of at least one similar product to this out there. Unfortunately, the source of that particular product gives me a "shady" vibe. Employees of that company are well-known for bizarre and unprofessional behavior. On the other hand, TGS reps have responded to multiple emails of mine regarding details of its nutritional breakdown and the source of their milk, and their answers don't reek of CYA/spin-doctor BS like you get from a lot of companies. Everything from their website to their customer service just exudes a sense of professionalism, which is a rare sight in an otherwise very shady field. It is 83.3% protein by weight, which is very good for a whey concentrate, and is probably indicative of the lack of additives compared to most other brands (flavorings, sweeteners, proprietary enzymes/peptides). In addition to the nutrition facts listed on the label, a TGS rep told me that (calculated on a 30g serving basis) there is also: 64 IU Vitamin A, 6 IU Vitamin D, 0.27mg iron, 162mg calcium, 129mg phosphorus, and 19mg magnesium. For anyone on a restricted diet who would be regularly consuming this protein, these numbers might be useful to know. I personally mix this protein with various other things into a smoothie using a high-speed blender, so I can't speak for its mixability in regular circumstances. But the fact that it has sunflower lecithin--an emulsifier--should guarantee that it mixes roughly as well as any other random whey concentrate out there, 99% of which use soy lecithin instead. One other thing that caught my eye is that there is 0.5g of trans fat per 30g serving. This could be considered alarming to many. However, considering there are no additives beyond sunflower lecithin, which doesn't have detectable trans fat levels, the trans fat must be from the milk. This makes sense, because ALL milk has trans fat in it naturally. An 8-oz glass of 2% milk has 0.2g trans fat...although, because of ridiculous labeling regulations, anything less than 0.5g is rounded down to zero. So there might be 0.499g of trans fat in a 20g serving of something, and the manufacturer can claim "no trans fat" despite the fact that it's 2.5% pure trans fat by weight! (I suspect that other minimally-processed whey concentrates have trans fat also, but the companies get around listing it by lowering the serving size, thus causing the trans fat to drop below 0.5g/serving and rounding down to zero). A glass of milk has around 8g protein. So do some math and you'll see that this whey protein has a slightly better protein:trans fat ratio than regular old milk. And even putting all that aside, the trans fat in dairy products is not the same as the trans fat in partially-hydrogenated oils. Most of the trans fat in cow's milk is in the form of vaccenic acid, which is converted to conjugated linoleic acid (CLA). There is evidence that CLA actually provides health benefits, or at least is benign, as opposed to the trans fats in hydrogenated vegetable oils. In case anyone is wondering, the milk is not sourced from grass-fed cows. I know of another whey concentrate out there that is (supposedly) sourced from grass-fed cows, from a company whose name is similar to "Genuine Nourishment", although it is about 25% more expensive once shipping is factored in and doesn't contain an emulsifier.

Delicious with Stevia and Real Vanilla Extract!
This may be the most versatile unflavored, unsweetened protein powder on the market. I'm sold on the delicious creamy texture when one scoop is added to 8 ounces whole milk plus a packet of stevia and a splash of vanilla extract. I'm imagining all the interesting protein drinks I am going to be able to make with flavorings I already have. You may also love this in some orange juice. My husband tried it that way and liked it. He goes to the gym so was looking for a good protein powder without all the artificial sweeteners. We are both happy with this and now that we are so much more active we need the extra protein. I'm normally a big fan of pea protein, but the flavor of this protein powder once mixed with stevia and vanilla has me thinking twice about which protein powder I want to get in the future. Did I mention so delicious and creamy! Very impressive and highly recommended! As someone who has been drinking protein powder drinks for most of my life this is the best tasting! ~The Rebecca Review

Exceptional product
I have a lot of stomach issues after years of not eating right. My friend’s doctor recommended she up her protein in the morning to help with some of her issues we have in common so she sent me a link to the 14 best protein powders. This whey protein powder was on that list. It was the only one that checked off all the boxes for me AND was unflavored. I love this stuff. My stomach feels much better when I mix this with my milk in the morning. I have more energy than I did. It mixes with milk easily using a handheld frother or shaking it. My daughter had terrible morning sickness when she was pregnant so I bought her a bag to try. She could keep this down so I felt better knowing she was getting the protein she and the baby needed. She now uses this when she makes smoothies for the older granddaughters for breakfast. They think it makes it taste like ice cream. I will continue to use this brand and this brand only.

Great unflavored whey protein at a Great price
I want to give full feedback, so this might be a bit of a story. For those in a hurry.... TL;DR - good product, little added flavor if any. Will buy again. Story - I like smoothies. But I hate paying $4-6 for them when I can get all the frozen ingredients and spend 5 minutes making them myself. Alternatively, I hate protein shakes. Their consistency and flavors leave much wanting. Therefore, in our effort to be at least a little healthier, my wife and I used some wedding gift cards to get a good blender. We started making our fruit smoothies in there and started getting recipes from library books (wife is a librarian). As we added or removed things, we started getting healthier smoothies. Adding Spinach doesn't add much flavor, but can turn your drink green. Kale - didn't like it and it caused the drinks to separate A LOT and fast - meaning more shaking or mixing. Eventually, as we started looking at working out more, we decided that we needed more protein and Fruit smoothies alone won't provide that. The wife was ok with protein shakes, but not me. Enter Amazon... I searched for a few weeks for a good unflavored protein that wouldn't mess with my smoothie consistency. I don't really care if it was organic or not or if it had additives as I just wanted protein that wouldn't change what I had already worked on creating. I reviewed the different protein types and discovered that Whey is one of the few complete proteins. So, sticking with Whey, I found this product. It is clean, with little to no smell and adds ZERO flavor to my smoothies. Not having used Whey protein on its own, I didn't know what to expect. I added a full scoop and ended up with a super thick smoothie. I had to add more and more water to thin it out and ended up with 3 smoothies instead of 1. So, now I add half a scoop and can judge how much liquid to add to get the right consistency. While not as much protein as a full scoop, it is more than my fruit smoothies had alone. I like this and use it every time I make a smoothie. Great price as well, cheaper than going to GNC. I use about 1 1/2 scoops per week, and I expect this to last 4-9 months (depending on my work travel). Lots to like here!

Seriously the best Whey for quality and even price. I'm a fan for life - way to go TGS Nutrition!
First let me say, nothing this pure and clean is going to taste great on its own. This is for serious health conscience protein shake drinkers. I've been doing a daily protein shake for over 12 yrs. Had cancer, changed my lifestyle to clean, pure unprocessed in all ways, added in a health shake daily, overcame cancer and other health conditions from these changes and cancer free now 12yrs. I'm past needing my daily health insurance to taste like cookies or a caramel latte. THIS is pure and clean concentrated protein- that's the point. It's not going to be what has been on the market - this is completely in a class of its own. This is nothing other than pure whey protein, only 1.5gr carb per scoop and 2gr fat - wow! A product this clean and pure is very hard to find. What sets this apart other than that? EVERYTHING! Thirteen "NO......" (unnecessary or harmful ingredients) shown on the back label for one, (such as NO: salt, corn, soy, gluten, sugar, preservatives, etc) They use rBGH -free milk, it's made in the USA, price is super amazing for this size, consistency is frothy and smooth when used in a blender. If you're new to protein shakes, you may not realize this but long timers know the best flavor, and texture always comes from using the blender/food processor and what other ingredients you use will give it flavor. Shake and run protein/nutritional products are usually over-processed, unhealthy engineered garbage. I'm sure that is why this product was born, my opinion in light of the current market. I use lots of nutritional powerhouses in my morning drink for the nutritional values and health assurance, it isn't for taste. To my protein: tsp of Ceylon cinnamon, 2 " raw chunk of ginger, tsp turmeric, super food greens, the most flavorful fruit I can get (berries usually), 1 oz raw almonds, plop of greek yogurt and raw honey, ice! Sometimes pure cocoa and I will switch and use peanut butter and 1/4 frozen banana. It's important to utilize different sources of carbs and fats. I've been trying different proteins, but this is going to be my source of whey - I'm beyond satisfied. The grade, quality, and price sets this apart from all others. Seriously delighted to stop the searching. This is a big bag-30 servings. Many other proteins offer a 15 serving size bag that cost more than this one. Thank you TGS Nutrition - well done!

Excellent whey, nice price
I ordered this two-pound bag some weeks ago. I used it for a couple of shakes as meal replacements during the day since I have the bad habit of subsisting on coffee until lunch or dinner and then trying to make it up. Not great for my metabolism. I thought it'd be easier to adopt better habits if I hacked my impromptu "liquid diet" and made it more nutritious. I wasn't going to go Shakeology or anything like that either because of all the soy and crap. So I took someone else's recipe for a make-at-home protein shake and ran with that. Did a 50g first thing in the morning because I hear it does good things for leptin sensitivity, and then another 25g as a lunch. It was nice to not be starving by dinnertime and to finally be able to get enough protein without eating it all in one go. Reaction: At first my stomach rebelled in the form of nausea. But it only happened one day. For those who intake unaccustomed doses of protein and then feel sick, THIS IS NORMAL. Your stomach has to adjust the acid it produces, and some people have bacterial overgrowth from years and years of carb overconsumption and that cuts back acid production too. Something to keep in mind if you ever step back from the vegetarian brink. Anyway. After that first day I did much better, felt more normal, et cetera. Drinking water alongside the protein helped at first but then after several days it didn't matter anymore. And then I ran out of this wonderful whey. And then I got some whey from a local-ish chain store that had its own brand of whey. And then I began getting stomachaches and other unpleasantness. I can't decide if it was the soy lecithin (this whey doesn't have soy, but the store brand I mentioned does) or the stevia (this whey doesn't have stevia, but the store's vanilla whey contained it) or what. All I know is I will not be using the store brand again, and I will be reordering this after payday. I miss it. :( I have just one complaint: The zipper on the bag is terrible. If you have the cashola to hold your nose and spring for one of the canisters, get a canister instead. Otherwise you'll be storing this plastic bag inside another plastic bag, which is really annoying.

Love the flavor & no added surgar!
I love this protein powder. The taste is one of the best I’ve found — it doesn’t have that artificial sweetener flavor at all. Instead, it adds this really nice, almost creamy froth when mixed (especially in coffee or smoothies), which makes everything feel more elevated instead of “protein-y.” It’s super clean and just blends into whatever you’re making.
