Rechargeable Long Range Two-Way Radios with Earpiece 4 Pack Arcshell AR-5 Walkie Talkies Li-ion Battery and Charger Included

We purchased these products to use at an anime, comics, and gaming convention, as my husband and I were running security, our gaming room was in a different hotel next door, and our son was also volunteering. We had great clarity with these walkies considering we exceeded the range listed. We had no problems hearing each other throughout the two hotels and outside, though we only tested them up to the second floor of the hotels. The earpieces were great and the cable long enough to clip the walkie to my belt, run the cord up my back, clip the mic to my collar, and still have great range of motion. My husband is six feet and 220 lbs and had no problems with range of motion either. Everyone on staff wanted a walkie once they saw how convenient it was to contact each other across the span of the area we rented instead of having to text or call each other and fumble around with our phones when we had our hands full. We are definitely putting more walkies in our convention budget. These worked on the charger, which was great for our guy in the gaming room, as he could sit it right next to his desk and hear everything through the walkie, or wear the earpiece with the walkie sitting beside him. The batteries lasted for us for two days, twelve hours both days, though we weren't having hours long conversations, mostly a minute here and there. The batteries finally signaled they were dying at the end of the second day of constant use. We put a lot of use on these things and I dropped mine several times, and one was on the hip of an eleven year old, so I feel like they are very durable for the price. I can't say enough about how great these walkies are. We are looking forward to using these for camping and nerf wars.

EDIT: The Arcshell Customer Service chimed in with some clarifications on how to turn VOX off and I was able to successfully turn VOX off on both of my units that I had them turned on for. These can't be beat for the price. For the price they audio quality and functionality can't be beat, there's one irritating flaw which I'll include at the end. Took these on a family vacation at the beach and was able to radio back to the house that the next person to come down and join us in a beach chair should bring more beer and sunscreen. I also for ~$12.50 per device I have no concerns giving it to my 10yo when he's riding around the neighborhood on his bike so he can keep us informed where he is and if he needs anything. The first day out he was 1.5 miles away and radio'ed in a request for permission to have an ice pop. Longest we've tested is 2 miles while in separate cars on the highway (on the way to the beach). The bad... the VOX feature (automatically transmit when you talk without having to press the transmit button) is not the best but honestly at this price point I didn't really care. Unfortunately once you turn VOX on THERE'S NO WAY TO TURN VOX OFF without some magic cable and SW that does not come included with the walkie talkies and for which there's ZERO documentation on.... So if you buy these, they're fine as walkie talkies but DO NOT turn on the VOX feature because there's no practical way to turn it off.

These are great. The range of these radios exceeded my expectations big time. I've tested them at up to a mile in a densely populated part of town. I bought them for fishing with my friends and they're fantastic. They have great sound quality, lighter than I would ha e expected, and I've also dropped a couple of them already and they seem to be durable. The headsets that they come with are a bit awkward in your ear but function perfectly fine and sound great. I have two small complaints about the radio's though. First, I can't find any literature about these specific radios online. I would like to know how to program them and searching by this specific brand name yields nothing useful. Secondly, and something that's a bit of an inconvenience with these radios, is the fact that you can't just set these radios on their chargers and walk away. The instruction manual actually tells you to not leave them on the charger longer than they need to be because it could shorten the life of the batteries. Having to pay attention to when they're fully charged is a pain for sure. Other than that, these radios were well worth the money and. I might actually buy some more.

I am so happy with this product and the customer service from this company I could go on forever about it. Honestly I am 43 yrs old and this is the best product and experience I have had buying something in a very, very long time. I purchased these (4 pack ) because of price point and the primary use was for a Caribbean Cruise with many land falls on islands that we would not have cell phone service on. We have to daughters ages 10 & 6 and in the event we were separated or need to communicate we needed that option. When the radios arrived I had 2 from the same box arrive DOA. No matter what I did they would not turn on. Battery swap from the other 2 working radios and nothing. So one night at about 1:30 am eastern I arrived home from work and comprised an email to the seller about the situation and if I could return just the 2 broken ones for an exchange. Figured I would hear from them in a few days. Went about my business and showered grabbed some food came back to my emails within about an hour to an hour and a half and to my amazement I had a response from Ashley a customer sales rep with Arcshell. She apologized for the inconvenience assured me I would not have to return anything and that she had already sent me 2 replacements and they were on their way! Just like that. I was so amazed I asked if she was sure! She said yes sir and BOOM 4 days later they were here working great. They worked very well on the Royal Caribbean ship Allure one of the biggest ships in the world. On land even in mountains they preformed very very well. Very easy to operate both my daughters and my wife (first time walkie talkie users) could use them with easy. At one location we had someone on our channel of choice, but we had predetermined channels on a list and we went to those and continued to communicate. Battery life is exceptional at least 12-18 hours with normal use. Though as many have stated UHF radios in the U.S. require licensing to operate only 2% are. All restaurants and retailers use UHF radios and they don't liceness their use. Trust me I operate a large company and we do not license our UHF radios. No Radio police is going to show up to arrest you' With that said if you have by chance a situation that you know for sure emergency or security is using that channel simply change the channel. I bought these for a trip to the Hard Rock Punta Cana in Dominican Republic. 3 Adults and 2 kids were travelling in our group and the resort is 121 acres with 12 pools and 10 restaurants. The resort has excellent Wifi but given the size, you're constantly connecting and reconnecting and there are, as to be expected, places where there is no wifi or the signal is slow (for example, the beach). Due to the size, I predicted it would be challenging to keep up with one another and purchased these in the hopes that it would assist. I was pleasantly surprised with how well they worked! Inside buildings, even inside elevators, we experienced clear communication. We did have to switch channels one time because we experienced some other people talking on our channel but it was very easy to do and everyone in the group had no issues working the devices. This product is absolutely worth the price. I was shocked that I could get 4 rechargeable walkie talkies for less than $50. Immediately upon receiving the product, I installed the belt clips which meant taking off four phillips head screws and screwing them back on (very simple). We either clipped the walkies to our belts (swimsuits) or clipped them to a pool bag. One of our travellers accidently went into the pool with their walkie and while it still works, it is not reliable so I would note that this item is NOT waterproof. We were not under the impression that it was but just good to know in case you need something waterproof. Overall, we loved the product and it was well worth the investment. It made our trip much more manageable and much easier to communicate and keep up with one another in a resort of this magnitude. I can see us using these on many trips to come where the cell signal does not work.

These are NOT compatable with an earlier version of the same walkie. The unit works great but the ear phones that come with them are terrible. Right into the trash.

I shopped around for lightweight walkie talkies that had a decent distance many times in the past and have usually come up empty handed. I work for a golf course in Myrtle Beach, SC. Over time regular wear and tear usually requires us to replace these every couple years. The issue is at $250 per walkie, budgets get questioned. Bought these to replace 4 walkies that cost 20 times more last year and was surprised at how well they worked. They are actually clearer than a top named brand and have a better range. Plus they have rechargeable battery packs with chargers included, so no battery purchases. The guys have lost a couple over the year, so we purchased another 4 pack this year. Did have one that may have been damaged upon receipt, but the supplier immediately replaced it free. Excellent customer service. You can't go wrong if you are looking for professional quality at an affordable price as long as you understand all walkie talkies have a limited range. I'm getting coverage anywhere on the course, which is up to a mile. Perfect for us.

Recent,Follow-Up Arschell Radios First-Test,of these Arschell rechargeable Radios,Completed.On March 8th/2020. had purchased 4-radios,with ear-pieces,with 4 chargers,products was delivered/recieved within less approx 6 days later,upon purchase,came from Washinton USA.from where i reside in Elliot,Lake Ontario Canada,i was very Impressed by quick/fast delivery services,rate it 5 stars. recently done did our first deployed testing of these radios,On March 8th/2020,was mild and sunny day,my army buddy and his Son,both had taken skidoo trail walking in backwilderness bush behind our apartment buildings low terrain bush area,Radios worked very well with crystal clarity clearness,up to about 3/4 of a mile,in distance but after that,it started getting staticky in its receptions,voices started breaking up ,we have lots of trees terrain here,they hitting some low line,gullys in the bush area,which made communications difficult between us both. Inso ,far radios did work for up over to 3/4 of miles in distance ,in clear out doors terrain wilderness,would not work any further in receptions,good for short distances communications Only,All companys sellings such Radios Products,stating they are long range radio ,do needing to define long range,in distance,better to customers,not all portable radios are equal,in distances range.They telling customers one thing,but does not actually working as they should be,need to being more transparent and honest,should not sell products,as such if not work as described in out doors wilderness terrain. But we will continue to be doing few more testing,of these radios,in our Northern community Area & District,of wilderness area of northern ontario ,in Elliot lake Canada,will give you more updates later in coming not to distant coming future,Good luck So,radios are still good price buy gerry P.
