Disappointing Product. Sleeves stretched out and faded very quickly
I purchased these sleeves for my coworkers and I. We work with special needs children who sometimes bite or scratch. We were very excited about the sleeves when we first got them. However, they lost their elasticity after the first time wearing them and it has only gotten worse since then. The more they have been used, the looser they have become to the point that they slide down our arms during compromising situations leaving us unprotected when we most need it. We followed the washing instructions and air dried them. Not only did the elasticity not come back, they also faded and now look like they are very old when in fact we have only been using them for about two or three weeks. We are considering returning these, would definitely NOT recommend them or order again, and will be looking for a different product to use in the future. We would have ordered more of these if they had worked out. We are all very disappointed.

Buying a second pair
I work with kids and young adults with communication disorders. Sometimes, because some don't understand pain (if I do this people make lots of noise, fun!) or don't have a communication system to let you know when they're upset or in pain (behavior is communication, y'all), that does mean you get bitten. And more often than that, it means you get scratched. I always have these sleeves on standby. They're hot, but the black blends in so people don't realize you're wearing a bite guard (some parents will get offended). I only pull them out when I know I'm going into the danger zone or if things are getting bad. But it makes me feel safer knowing they're an option, and it makes my boyfriend feel better about my job. And they've come in handy. I barely noticed a light bite I got from a kid a few weeks ago. Hard bites you will certainly notice, and they will hurt, but this will keep your skin intact and mitigate the damage. I just gave mine away to a caregiver whose arms were getting bitten and scratched up. I'm buying another pair to replace them, as well as a pair of athletic cooling sleeves to wear when I'm only worried about light scratches (the one downside to these sleeves is that they're hot!).

Not Kitty Proof
I bought these in hopes that they'd be effective against my foster kitty who would be a great candidate for My Cat From Hell. She hisses, spits, and takes claws-out swipes when I get too close. I mean, it's my fault for trying to touch her when her body language clearly says to back off because she's frightened, but these gloves are not super effective at preventing against her swipes. I think if her swipe went more long and less directly at me, her claws would not be able to sink into the fabric and puncture my skin. With the direct swipes, her claws are not able to drag as far or go as deep, so a major scratches are now minor cuts. I also found these a bit itchy when I put them on, which could have been remedied by a soft layer of fabric inside the scratch-resistant layers. By the second wear, they had stretched enough to accommodate my arm (women's large) without having to struggle to get them on.

Can Protect Arms, Clothes from Wheelchair Use
I got these to protect my arms and sleeves, and hopefully keep some dirt off my hands, while I use my wheelchair. If I put them on over sleeves, it will protect the sleeves from damage. This is only possible with tighter shirts, though. For others, you can roll up the shirt sleeve and use the guard to protect your skin from abrasions. The guard covers your palms, but leaves your fingers free. This is a mixed bag, and probably up to personal preference. It keeps some of the dirt off your hands, but your fingers will still get dirty from use. (Can't just eat finger food after if you go out to eat.) Leaving the fingers uncovered does give you the benefit of having a better grip, though. With daily use, the guard will quickly wear holes into the palms-- but only through one layer, leaving your hand still protected. I found them useful, and they aren't super expensive so I don't mind replacing them once or twice per year if I have to.

3 for the price of 1, or maybe that's 6? Love them!
My daughter LOVES them. We bought these for armature archery and they serve 3 purposes really well. 1) they protect her fore-arm. She has a tendency to hyper-extend her elbow, so when pulling on the bow, her forearm is at risk. 2) they're long enough to save her elbow. Remember the hyper-extending? These cover her elbow as well, so fantastic. 3) They protect her hand. We have a traditional Chinese Bow with no nock, so the arrows slide across the hand. There are bulky hand guards you can wear for this, but they bunch up and the arrow is pushed in weird directions. No need with these. As you can see, right where the arrow nocks on your hand, it's protected. Nice right? 3 items for the price of one.The only con is for me. The're too warm. LOL I'm right handed, and she's left, so this one "set" gave us both our protection. She loves them and doesn't mind getting warm. I don't like being warm. Bleh.OH. I'm a middle-sized male computer nerd with moderate forearms due to piano playing, and the ones we purchased were snug on my arms, but fit loosely on hers. Something to consider.

they are amazing..
At first it is really hard and tight to put them on (I am a size 2xl person), however, after doing over and over, it becomes a little easier... other than it taking 10 minutes and the help of my husband to put them on...they are amazing...we practiced with swords to cut my arm and no cuts...the material (kevlar) really does hold up...we actually bought several pairs and the first pair we purposely tried to destroy them- we were not very successful at that...now if you take a razor sharp knife and saw (about 15 minutes) at your arm, they will tear on one of the layers- but haven't cut through to the skin...great for sword practice, in a fight, or protecting your arm against any blade...even when we stabbed my arm- I felt the pressure but no cuts on me or the sleeve...I would recommend these to anyone...that is if you can get them on your arm
