Is this product cruelty free? Do they test on animals?

Yes, we are cruelty free. We do not work with labs or support companies that engage I. Laboratory testing on animals. Our SPF and Water Resistance test are performed in an FDA licensed lab on willing human subjects who are paid volunteers, this is standard for any sunscreen. Our company goes above and beyond to make sure we do t have any of the more than 30 marine toxic chemicals and would never support or allow testing on animals.

Does this leave a white tint on face?

One has to work in the cream gently and let it absorb in the skin. The initial white tint diapears in a little while. It really not only protects against any sun damage, it also actually seems to make the skin more supple and feel rejuvenated.

It leaves a slight white tint, because it is thicker than other sun block lotions I have used. I think it is meant more for water sports, and the thickness stays on better in the water. I'm very happy with the product.

How many applications can you get out of one bottle?

It’s 3oz of 25% non nano zinc as the active ingredient, which is the highest percentage you will find on the market. A little Kōkua goes a longer way because of the amount of zinc and the excellent water resistance. The number of applications is not an exact calculation because of a variety of factors like size of person, full body or partial body application, how thick or thin you apply it. Some say one tube lasts all summer and others say a few days.
