PODLAB Compatible OriginalLine Biodegradable Coffee Capsules for Nespresso - 60 Ct. Espresso Pods - Flinders Medium Roast

This is a review of Hosier Extra Strong. At $.20 a capsule they're quite the bargain. My shipment has an expiration date of of 12/20/19, so that's all good. To test them, I did a direct comparison with two other Italian brands, and unfortunately, Podlab didn't fare well. To me, the aroma and flavor were only just OK. Your tastes might be different so I don't want to judge them too harshly. They are very darkly roasted. This is a 14 intensity capsule. The biggest problem I have with these is the foil covered bottom, or small end of the capsule, doesn't always get pierced properly causing extraction failure. The only way I have been able to get them to work is to take a push pin and manually punch a few holes around the edge of the bottom of the capsules before using. I haven't had one fail if I puncture the bottom first. This trick works for other brands that give headaches as well. The capsule design needs improvement as your machine shouldn't have to struggle to puncture these. Many compatible brands with plastic capsules have this problem, even one's with the foil bottoms. Pay attention when you close the handle. If it closes smoothly it probably pierced fine and you should have no problems. If the handle is difficult to close fully something is wrong. Retrieve the capsule, puncture the bottom of it and try again.

The flavor of this pod is ok, definitely not an intensity 14. Maybe more of a 7. I prefer as high of an intensity as I can get and was excited to try these when they said “extra strong” and intensity 14 which nespresso only goes to 11. As with many other non-nespresso brands they did not deliver. They also do not brew with much of a creamy froth either which is somewhat expected. Price and flavor is good if you like a more mellow shot or an inexpensive everyday user.

Pods don't fit well into the Nespresso machine, plus they melted, and subsequently had to be prised out of the machine. The coffee was very weak, despite being the of the strongest roast available etc...Plus the main box had been torn open and retaped up, the individual boxes of 10 pods were of different batches?Pods were cheap in more than their price, I guess one receives what one pays for....I would have rated zero stars if possible.....

Great tasting coffee, quality pods excellent price.

It works perfectly, went above my expectations. Taste is very good, I bought level number 10 but it actually taste like number 6, not very strong. Overall for the price is a good buying, I will order more once these run out.

I wanted to love these pods, but experience issues with what I suspect to be the pods becoming clogged and not allowing water to filter through. It’s not a consistent issue with all pods, but it is enough of an annoyance in the morning when all I want is my coffee.

It’s good but i think there is something wrong with the capsules, some capsules are not working with the coffee machine.100% the problem from the capsules because I tried Nespresso capsule and its worked.

Arrived the next day! So fast.Wonderful flavor. Worked perfectly in my machine. Will certainly become a staple in my regular coffee rotation.
