The more I use this the more I like it!By far the best shave I have ever had. I never realized how bad the disposable razor blade cartridges are. 30+ years of shaving, why did no one tell me what a positive difference this makes.

This is the first time using this type of razor for me and it definitely took some getting used to. It provides a close shave and I didn't have a hard time putting the razor in. The razor is positioned correctly by the raised corners rather than additional guide posts in the center. I'm going to keep trying it and hopefully get more comfortable using it. thanks!

could be better, cheap design flaws lead to way too close of a shave, even if that is the point. not the for inexperienced

Typical safety razor, nothing out of the ordinary. Feels great in hand in terms of quality and heft. Love the color.

I've used safety razors for several years now and have had probably 5-6 different handles. This one is a 3.5 out of 5 and here's why.Off the top, you can see in the first two pictures that the blade holder only has the single hole in the middle. This means there's no "guide" for fitting the razor blade in straight. All of my other handles have had three holes to hold the blade. You can also see how thin the materials used are, particularly compared to my usual handle (the stainless version).The handle on this unit is about an inch shorter than I'm used to, it's extremely light, and as you can see in the last picture, there's a significant gap between the edge of the blade and the guard, which means you get an extremely close shave. Too much so, in this case. It scraped the heck out of my skin so that when I put on my aftershave....YOWZERS!This is NOT a good starter handle, and unless they make some significant design changes, I don't recommend it for veteran safety razor users either.

The Gentleman Jon Gunmetal safety razor is well crafted, has a pleasant weight, and functions as well or better than other razor handles twice the price. I have used it around twenty times now and the handle has held up well and still holds the blades firmly in place.My only recommendation for those considering this razor is that it does provide an extremely close shave. If you are unfamiliar with using a single-bladed safety razor, the angle and closeness of the shave may be more than you're expecting. I applied the amount of pressure I've used with similar razors in the past and found that my skin was extremely sensitive afterward when applying aftershave.The more times I've used it, the easier it has become not to shave too closely to the skin and prevent irritability.Overall, this is an excellent razor for those who already have experience but may provide comfort issues for those who are not as familiar with single-blade safety razors.

Such good quality! It's made so well and feels so luxurious. Easy to use and switch out blades. Fits comfortably in your hand and gives a great shave. Once you use this, you'll never want to switch to any other razor.

I really wanted to like this razor. I love the gunmetal and overall looks of it and the product page made it seem very hopeful. It proudly states: “Shave closer than ever”, and I suppose this is true. It’s just that, and I have to agree with others here, this is too close of a shave. Of course, this isn’t to say you will feel the same about it, as everyone is built differently. The razor itself appears well-made, though, and for this reason I’m giving it three stars. Based on shaving alone, however, the rating would be lower.
