Gentleman Jon Gunmetal Safety Razor - Double Edge Stainless Steel DE Razor

Well-made shaving kit which harkens back to the old days of single-edge dominion. I love the smooth, clean shave this gives me. It's not something you fly through in 5 minutes. Taking 10-12 minutes for a nice clean shave is meditative quality time. Each single blade lasts me for 5-6 shaves. Love making the lather up fresh each time. I recommend this.

The Gentleman Jon Gunmetal safety razor is well crafted, has a pleasant weight, and functions as well or better than other razor handles twice the price. I have used it around twenty times now and the handle has held up well and still holds the blades firmly in place.My only recommendation for those considering this razor is that it does provide an extremely close shave. If you are unfamiliar with using a single-bladed safety razor, the angle and closeness of the shave may be more than you're expecting. I applied the amount of pressure I've used with similar razors in the past and found that my skin was extremely sensitive afterward when applying aftershave.The more times I've used it, the easier it has become not to shave too closely to the skin and prevent irritability.Overall, this is an excellent razor for those who already have experience but may provide comfort issues for those who are not as familiar with single-blade safety razors.

Although this is a review of a free product, I give you my word that my reviews will always be unbiased and truthful.I really wanted to like this little razor, but I cannot recommend it it good faith due to a few design flaws. Other reviewers have stated what they are, and I am in full agreement with them. The gap between the blade and the guide is too big. It allows too much skin to move into the line of the blade. Great for a close shave, not so great at leaving your skin unscathed! I have used safety razors off and on for decades, and quite a few of them to compare this one with. They need to add a couple of tabs on the razor cap so that the blade is lined up properly with the edge of the razor. As it is, the blade can easily go in crooked, and leave a dangerous amount of blade sticking out on a corner. Fully removing the top to replace the blade each time will get tiresome when there are better designs out there. The put a lot of effort into making this razor look great, and with a few changes it could be a nice razor.

Pretty snazzy little razor. It is made of a nice and hefty stainless steel that makes it great to have in the bathroom.It comes in a simple box and comes apart just as easily as any other razor. It is made of a nice and shiny black stainless steel that is satisfying to hold and use. It is balanced quite nicely and surprisingly easy to use despite the relatively short length. It can easily accomodate any double edge razor, which make it super simple to use. The razor sits at a comfortable angle, providing great cutting performance without any undesireable nicks, though a shaving cream is definitely still recommended if you have it.Nice razor, definitely way more price effective compared to the cartridge-style razors that I use to purchase.
